Starting new thread before we run out of room. Now to link from the old one. Could be interesting

I want to get Catherine some baby banz for holiday. Where did you get them from hendo?

Hey all

Just to say, well done Claire on keeping so calm. I think I would have flipped my lid in that situation.

What are baby banz, are they sunnies?

Been swimming this morning, was really good. Think anna was better than me though! ha ha ha!

GoldenSnitch · 04/05/2010 15:32

They're Ray Banz for babies

No arms to the frames though, just a neoprene adjustable band. Much more comfy and likely to stay on.

I've found Kidz Banz for DS too. Now just to pick a colour! Decided on Adventurer rather than Classic as they have an extra cushion over the brow and nose to make them more comfortable but do I get normal or Retro?

Thanking black for DS but can't decided between white retro, red polka dot or pink for Catherine. I'm so rubbish at decisions!!

Was erring toward White Retros cause they'll 'go' with more things...

hendo77 · 04/05/2010 16:03

I got mine from mothercare (£12) - you can see them all online if you search for baby banz on their website. We've only put them on for about 5 minutes, but she didn't seem at all fazed by it. I think we needed to put them on a bit tighter as they went a bit wonky but they supposedly last until she is 2 years old.

Bex - glad you enjoyed the swimming, we've almost finished our second course of lessons now and the more we go the more Imogen seems to enjoy it.

Have just signed up to weightwatchers online for 3 months as really need to focus and while still bfing get loads of extra points. My friend came over today armed with biscuits and chocolate as I hadn't told her yet so not such a good start but there's always tomorrow...

GoldenSnitch · 04/05/2010 16:14

Thinking of doing WW too hendo. Managed to get back into my pre-preg jeans now but they're tight still

hendo77 · 04/05/2010 16:21

Same her GS - but worse still they have now started getting tighter which is what really pushed me to do it. I have to say I have never, ever been allowed so many points so I definitely won't be starving which is promising...

Claire236 · 04/05/2010 16:37

Thanks for the support. I'm not sure I was particularly calm mind you. The other mum is now not talking to me. She pointedly ignored me yesterday & today pm at the school. Didn't see her this am as dh dropped ds1 off at breakfast club. Today I was talking to someone else so didn't get a chance to speak to her but tomorrow I'm going to make a point of saying hello to her because I'm a grown up basically. Ridiculous situation.

Just Googled Baby Banz. Will have to get ds2 some I think.

I'm struggling with the last few pounds of baby weight. It's not much but it's all on my tummy so I feel pretty lardy some days. Started regular exercising which I'll hopefully stick to for more than my usual 2 weeks. I've got the breaking strain of a KitKat sadly.

Gah ive done this time exactly what I did after having Jake.
I was able to fit into my pre-preg jeans straight away. Got cocky. Now they dont fit.
Am eating healthy now though and have banned chocolate from the house and am no longer drinking wine. (drinking vodka and slimline tonic instead )

I even, shock horror, refused a chinese takeaway.

Elizabeth hasnt rolled since that first time, I think it may have been an accident.

Was looking on the fb Dec 09 page. Wonder what has happened to Madmissy, Milliemuffin etc?

Claire236 · 04/05/2010 16:53

ABF - refused a Chinese. I'm astounded by your willpower. I wonder if some of those from our old thread are lurkers these days.

OP posts:
AmazingBouncingFerret · 04/05/2010 16:59

I must admit I have to make the effort to post because, quite frankly Elizabeth is rather boring and hasnt done anything apart from eat, poo, wee, coo, smile, cry, sleep and sometimes we have the odd giggle from her.

So I often find myself blathering on about Jake as he seems to have more issues!!

hendo77 · 04/05/2010 19:23

Refused a chinese - that is amazing willpower. Right - I am going to plan all my dinners this evening and get my shopping delivered so I can't possibly buy stuff I don't need in the shops either...

Claire236 · 04/05/2010 19:52

ABF - I sometimes struggle to think of anything to post that isn't a complaint about something or other. Feel like I must come across as a right moaning cow.

Ordered some Baby Banz from Amazon. Grey camouflage ones. Also got T-shirt for ds1 saying 'big brothers rock' to match ds2 'little brothers rock' one.

Still haven't managed to take ds2 swimming. I hate swimming. Not that splashing about with a baby is exactly swimming. Put ds1 down for swimming lessons but there's quite a long waiting list so don't know when he'll get to start.

Just watching cricket with dh & Ireland are doing rather too well against England (dh from NI) after me winding him up all day about how rubbish Ireland are. If they win I'll never hear the end of it.

  • I could never refuse a chinese!

Madmissy is one of my facebook friends so I see her status updates and say hi now and again. I'll give her a nudge and see if she fancies saying hi. Her little boy is gorgeous. Not sure about Milliemuffin and the others, I haven't seven seen them around on the boards.

Before long the babies will be sitting and weaning and crawling and we'll have loads to talk about. They're beautiful babies but not very exciting at this age

I like hearing about Jake too - he's about the same age as my DS I think and it's nice to know how he's coping with his little sister, especially when Alex and I are struggling.

madmissy · 04/05/2010 20:59

Hi all!
Wow I need a bloody good catch up!
Brodie is HUGE and doing well! He weighed in at 18lb 70z last monday and is in his 6-9 month clothes. Having to stock up on 9-12!

I feel as normal as a mum of 3 can!

My depression is long behind but my anxiety has popped up a tad. But always had that always will!

Anyone started weaning?

madmissy · 04/05/2010 21:06

I have been quite lucky with weightloss I am pretty much back to how I was. I have lost some more recently but I honestly have not tried. Don;t know how it happened!

BexJ78 · 04/05/2010 21:06

Hi All

Does anyone else's LO's like to put stuff over their face? When anna is asleep in her cot she always pulls the cloth part of her comforters over her face? doesn't matter if we move it off her face, we go back in afterwards and it is back there on her face. And same with bib? Really odd!

Well done ABF on refusing the chinese(...said through a mouthful of mini bounty bar! )
Not weaning for another 6 weeks yet, as doing BLW. Can't wait to get started though!

madmissy · 04/05/2010 21:08

Yes!! Brodie loves his muslins I try not to encourage it DH can't stand comforter things lol.

GoldenSnitch · 04/05/2010 21:25

Catherine loves cuddling her muslin too. I guess cause it smells of me and milk as I wedge it under my boob to catch the dribbles when she feeds (TMI sorry ) She sleeps much better if she has one draped over her shoulder and round the side of her face when she's put down.

She fell asleep in the buggy today and she'd pulled her hat down over her eyes and the muslin up over her face. She was completely covered!!

I'm trying not to encourage it too. One of Alex's friends still carries one everywhere at 3 and my niece can't go anywhere without her "cuddly" at 4! No way I want to be carrying them round for years and years!

sparklycheerymummy · 04/05/2010 21:29

hi madmissy....yes weaning away here and loving it..... allsorts of yummy things and he grabs my hand to move it to his mouth so i think he will be keen to do more himself and have some finger foods at 6 months. dont know much about blw but just doing what i did with dd and she is a FAB eater!!! NOt met anything he doesnt get excited over eating yet!!!

bex....ds loves a muslin or his teddy snuggle thing right up to his face!! he defo has teeth coming through so got some anbesol today as i heard that ws good. he can now do a full roll from back to front and onto his back again so now i have to watch whats near him. whilst i like him doing stuff he is my last baby an di feel he is growing up too quick ..... my dd was soooooooooooo slow at all the physical stuff!!!

feeling quite sad in general anyway that the 'baby' bit is over.........anyone else???

madmissy · 04/05/2010 21:45

YES! I feel like that exactly!

I think the mix of him being so big and weaning it feels like by ickle baby is gone

Whats your routines like?

Brodie is dropping milk in morning no matter what I try he will have 2-4oz at 7am!

Trying to figure out my pattern of the day but its hard! And when I feel like i have got it, he eats more solids so his milk is put back as hes not hungry!

HELP! lol

hendo77 · 04/05/2010 21:53

I might try the muslin draped over shoulder trick to see if it helps Imogen settle any quicker.

Bex - I'm also planning on doing blw. We're going away for the week after the next bank holiday weekend which is a week before 6 months and were planning on starting it then. She is sitting up really well - although when she does topple she can't get herself back up so you can't leave her unless she's in her ring, but for me that's a good sign for the weaning to come!

She's also rolling from front to back, but can't quite get it the other way, although I'm not sure she's quite so motivated to do so anyway. She eats her toes a lot and rolls right onto her side, but doesn't go right over!!!

sparklycheerymummy · 04/05/2010 21:57

yeh am a bit mixed up ....he has a bf at bet 6 and 7 but doesnt take much i can tell....then breakfast at 8 ish.....then goes to 11 ish where he has a ff and then 2 he has a ff or a bit of food (or both).....then tea at 5 and ff at 7 before bed. he has the odd mini bf at other times and will now take sips of water with his feed. sometimes the 11am feed gets to 12 and he has lunch and a ff instead of fruit or whatever. he was 21lbs about 3 weeks ago but my scales say he has lost weight but they are rubbish. just playing about with daily routine at moment but basically 1 bf, 2ff, breakfast, tea and a lunch/afternoon snack/ff. doc says he is doing really well and is fine!!! everyone is doing it differently but this seems to be working for us. how much you ds weigh madmissy ???
