Happy 2010 everyone! Cast your mind back to this time last year... [soppy]

Too much wine - excuse for thread title should it be shite rubbish when I read it tomorrow. Thought it was time to wave goodbye to the festive one, although perhaps we should have waited for epiphany?

Morning....just sitting here watching Lily play with her balloon....guess what she's doing to it? Hmmmmm. Off to cook a big fat roast for a bunch of old flatmates...we used to share the house I'm living in now about 10 years ago, back in the days of studenthood and no responsibility....ahhhhh.....

hackneyzoo · 10/01/2010 12:02

peel..

High temp here for DD and glazy eyes. She is never sick so not really sure what to do. Have 4 sachets of calpol. Scraped around the cupboards and found an elderly bottle of ibuprofen too. She complained of tummy pains and was shivery this morning, then got more and more catatonic. Calpol brought the temp down and she insisted on some socks on her frozen feet. I checked her for rashes and found none, then she fell asleep so I put her to bed. What now? I say high temp. Our dodgy argos infra red thermometer shows them as 33 normally and she was 36 point something. I'm assuming thats a 39, but not really sure!

God, that was hard without emoticons!

Hope you had a nice day tink and HZ (and everyone else who is actually living their lives away from here (blasphemy)).

Been reading for what feels like hours and dh will be wondering where I am. Have posted a few times in the last few days and when I hit post it disappears and then I don't have time to write it again. Anyway S is back on a high dose of meds but seems much better. He did wake at 3am last night which he hasn't done for ages and is very clingy but on the whole happier. Also taking his formula again so no need for calcium drops.

Pat great emotional and witty birth story. PMSL at the long fingers bit. Eeeww! But desperate times.

HKZ hope your dad is doing ok.

Sorry rubbish post but have to get ready for work. Boo!

lol at the thread imposters! We wouldn't have it any other way.

Dog not sure whether to be worried or not. I know they can yoyo easily when they are little, it's just she is usually such a sturdy little thing, I am totally flummoxed. Good idea with the sponging. have managed to get the covers off her. Tis all a bit hard when they share a room.

Glad S a bit better gumps.

no room in ours.. we've given the little tykes our big room to serve as nursery and bedroom, and we have a little corridor room! If it gets worse I'll make DP swap with her, though really hate sleeping with toddlers. They are sooo wriggly!

Where is everyone tonight?

thanks books. thats good as I did leave them on as she can get very funny about her feet and very possessive over her socks (even takes them off H's feet if I put a pair of her socks on him... which I do quite a lot). That does make sense. Plus I can't sleep at all when I have cold feet. Or cold anything for that matter. Really not looking forward to havning to wake regularly to check her as we're having the crap developemental sleep from H as it is. Boo Hiss, to use an HKism.

I'm currently enjoying reading the gnocchi thread and the farmgirls troll thread. I can't work out why troll threads are so great. Guess its a bit like watching crappy tv.

that is very cute! I've been meaning to buy H some tights as my overlap doesn't work very well, DD being a summer baby so the tights she wore don't fit him at the right times. He is the same pulling socks off and has permanently icy feet. Doesn't seem to care though.

I've just checked her again and she has moved so is sleeping wrong way round on top of the covers and temp feels normal. She hasn't had any meds since 6 so am taking that as a really good sign. Can I just go to bed or do I need to set alarm for 2 hours time to check again? Think I'm being overly cautious, but tis so rare... maybe I'm just enjoying the chance to fuss!

120cms · 10/01/2010 21:58

shes just woken again with a temp. taking her to bed with me!

night books

PatTheHammer · 10/01/2010 22:01

Just a quickie as I am meant to be marking. But just popping in to say that Z is wearing DD's old tights under his trousers too, thought I was the only one! He has been sporting navy blue and white but DH drew the line at pink flowery ones.

120-hope DD is ok tonight.

120, hope you and dd both get an okay night's sleep and that she's better in the morning.

books, c has a pair of those little soft leather shoes over her tights instead of socks, she is not much of a one for keeping her socks on either...

gumps, glad s is better

lenni, hope you are fully recovered from partying

am half watching the queen on dvd as i type, quite a turn by helen mirren but just remembering what a circus the whole thing was...

stripeywoollenhat · 10/01/2010 22:57

also, hkz, hope thigns are improving with your dad and that you can get to see him soon

VeryHungryLennipillar · 10/01/2010 23:12

AWOL sorry. Party went well but stll knackered and my house needs a major overhaul. Just realised quite a lot of the Christmas decorations are still up must get on with some housework.

DS has been known to sport a pair of DD's tights on cold days. He prefers age 3-4 with a bit of ankle sag.

Going to have to go as 'i' not working on my keyboard and am getting agitated with it. Back with working computer tomorrow - new laptop needed, why do things always break in Jan?
