hotterpotter · 14/12/2009 08:03

Morning all

The Christmas tree fairy came last night and festooned the tree with hundreds of lights so now DD is whittering to put the decorations on. I on the other hand am feeling a bit rough after drinking home made baileys while I got savaged by the tree. It does look nice though , let's see what it looks like in half an hour...

hotterpotter · 14/12/2009 08:55

It's tinseltastic

dizzycringles · 14/12/2009 09:14

oohh lovely, a festive start to the morning, thank you hots - have you fairy lights for your car

I had a pleasant surprise this morning, the PIL managed to walk the 100 yards in time to take the girls up to school DD1 was particularly delighted as she really feels a huge sense of loss when they go and was a touch upset that they'd be leaving at lunchtime without her seeing them.

D back in bed for a nap, DH catching a few hours off the nightshift and I'm waiting on my dad turning up. My dad, the inlaws and DH asleep [meep]

dizzycringles · 14/12/2009 09:45

oh god, Dad now here and the inlaws are back so they're all sitting moaning about Christmas cards

and the childminder has texted me saying she is supposed to be having the girls today - I have her down for Thurs and Fri this week so am NOT happy - no point in falling out on her last week but I really need her on Thurs on Fri, DH in court on Thurs and we've people coming on Fri night nothing ever easy is it

PoinsettiaBouquets · 14/12/2009 10:05

I missed the duvet-pie-Subo-love-in. Nay mind, I had a fab night out - DH's band were feckin brilliant, he looked adorable all night in scruffy suit with an undone bowtie round his neck, I got to play (not music) with my tray cool neighbour and had filthy sex later too. Job well done.

Off to GP later about achey weak wrists and jarring hip joint and try to get referred for chiropractor. I want to see what TS was so impressed with. Then it's DD's school play...

Santa I only just realised I have a signature dish! It's one I've been making since I was 16 and I'd forgotten how excited people get about it! It's basically sausagemeat, onion, apple, cheese, garlic, egg and parsley in plaited puff pastry. With raisins for eyes natch. V nice chilled too for catering convenience.

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 14/12/2009 10:06

Morning Everyone

Stiff drink Dizzy? I have a parcel for you too but won't manange to post until Weds at the latest - another one not to wait to open. Do you want me to pop over and take the girls for you on Thurs and Fri?

HP - your tree sounds like ours all bright and shiney

Can someone answer me a question......... If a midwife's frist appointment is at 8.15am and I book it, she is in when I arrive, smiles and waves then dissapears and comes out to get me at 8.45 with 2 other women now waiting. What exactly was making her 30mins late, except the tea for everyone I saw her making

We have a wierdie Santa which is supposed to be climbing a ladder onto the roof but DH hung it upside down so it looks like he has fallen off the ladder and his feet are now visable through the sittingroom window DD keeps yelling 'look kisssm, kissm wellies' Which I think translates at look it's father Christmas and his wellies - It did take me 40 mins to figure out what she was talking about

dizzycringles · 14/12/2009 10:38

buckets - night sounds brilliant and sausage dish sounds brill - recipe please

oops - you are a complete doll. she's now taking them but I have to pay her for 3 days this week as apparently its been my mistake cheeky mare - its her last week and I had been scouring the shops for a nice present to say thanks - feck that

and cheeky midwife

cyteen · 14/12/2009 13:16

Page 1 of 6??? Give us a chance girls, naptime can only last so long y'know You all must have been as drunk as I was on Saturday night to talk that much.

I shall catch up at some point...

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/12/2009 14:14

LoL at all this chat last night. vg I would have let you stoke my leg I too watched the SuBo thing. I heart the song she sang with Elaine P.
In fact I asked the string quartet for it at my wedding, but she said it was too short notice to learn it, but when signing they played it (I know my grandad loves it and I noticed a tear in his eye too)
Was wonderful.

buckets glad you had a great night. I did too I did read it as you had dirty sex with your neighbour though.(had to re read)
Woule love the sausage recipe sounds yummy.

dizzy sounds very stressful at your house atm, wish I was closer to help with the girls too.

sazzles so you got your cards done then. I have been lol at the times you were meant to be writing them but mnetting instead.

hotter your tree looks sparkletastic.

oops I lol at the santa climbing because me and dh had the conversation about one last night. He had seen one on his way home from work, and because I have been on antibiotics and painkillers for the last 5 days. I accompanied those with half a bottle of wine last night and told dh I would get him a santa suit and nail his fucking hands to the wall outside so he could look like a climbing santa

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/12/2009 14:21

Had a lovely morning today at soft play with some friends. Then me and my close friend went for carvery lunch with her twins. Was really nice as they are the same age as Marcus, and she has gone back to work so we don't get to go out much now.
She runs the toddler group, so we see each other every week, but not the same for her as she is busy. So was nice for her to sit and actually have a minute and interact with the babies.

Claudia behaved fantastically today and sat at the table amongst all the high chairs and had some lunch.

In fact dd and ds are an absolute delight lately, both very very affectionate and loving.
DD constantly telling me and dh that she loves us, and ds constantly hugging and kissing.
Hopefully things are changing for the better for now.
I am encouraging dh to ignore the behaviour we don't want and praise the behaviour we do.
Very hard to get him on board, but he is trying.
I am trying to chill out a bit more too and spend more time with them doing things, and less on laptop until they are in bed anyway.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/12/2009 14:23

Gosh was the the first ever positve post from me about my children. Feel slightly
I am sure you all know that I adore my dcs really, just been a bit of a struggle for a while.

Hope evryone is well, hope to get on and catch you all later when dcs are in bed.

hotterpotter · 14/12/2009 16:43

Hey No1, it's lovely to hear you are turning the corner with your DC, they sound absolutely charming

OMG I bumped my car

I took DH and DS out for a little drive and we hadn't gone more than 200 yards when I rolled back at a junction and bumped into the car behind Luckily the cars were fine and the other driver was very nice about it but still... Then later on I tried to set off in 2nd and couldn't work out why I kept stalling, took it out of 2nd and then tried to set off not in any gear How many miles until I get the hang of this new car do you reckon

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 14/12/2009 18:39

...

QueenofDreams · 14/12/2009 18:42

hi all.
have someserious connection problemssohaven't been able to catch up. just popping on quickly.
we're ok here. Had a moment with mil yesterday though. shewas giving S some very sweet hot chocolate. eventually I said that was enough. her reply? 'nanny's house, nanny's rules'. I really don't knowwhat rules have to do with it. then she said 'nasty mummy, always saying no. we burn these things off, we don't do stayong indoors' It all felt like a bit of a dig. DP says I'm reading more into it than was there, and she was only saying it in jest. So am I being oversensitive? or would you feela little put out by this?
sorry to be all me, me me It's been bothering me though.

QueenofDreams · 14/12/2009 18:44

Hi steaky good to see you back
good to hear your dc are playing nicely no1

cyteen · 14/12/2009 19:59

hotter eek at bumping the car already! Poor Skoda, I hope you administered a soothing stroke. Mind you, I probably would have had a stroke in that situation.

no1 how lovely to hear the kids are feeling the Christmas spirit or should I say DS has been mega-affectionate lately too, full of hugs and kisses (and not just as a pretext to scale us like climbing frames, either).

VG sorry to hear of MammyVG's continuing health woes

miamla · 14/12/2009 20:13

hi cyteen, the ball certainly looked like fun from the fb photos. you look beautiful! what's the story behind the hat? is it one of your brother's?

oh hots! your poor car! the first bump is always the first

ann hmm i'd say, your baby, your rules. i'm really lucky with both mum and mil that they check with me first. its got a bit annoying with mum so i've said i trust her and to just give DS what she thinks! was getting silly given that she has him two days a week!

oh bums, can't remember what else i was going to say....

miamla · 14/12/2009 20:15

forgot to festive-ise my post

SazzlesOnASled · 14/12/2009 20:19

Oh hotsy, potsy. You numpty [frin]

Were you not paying attention in Lesson 4: Use of Handbrake?

Hope you are ok and the car gets sorted asap

PB and Cyteen sounds like you both had fab nights out. Good girls, you deserve a blowout night

no1 i can't believe i prevaricated so many times with the cards . Just wait till i start on supposed present wrapping . So glad peace, harmony and health is rreturning to your household and long may this continue

I am LOL'ing at MrOops and his tackorama christmas decs . I want to come and see upended Santa

QoD I think MIL is being very out of order saying you are a nasty mummy in front of DS . your reaction is not oversensitive

We have had a busy day with playgroup where Father Christmas came to visit . DD2 attacked twice, and my reaction was not great when granny ignored the first one despite having seen it and said he was just being affectionate the second time. He deliberately pinched her face FFS. I have masses of patience with it as i know how difficult it is if a toddler is hell bent on something, but it was the blase reaction that got to me . Then we went to lunch with a friend, DH and i had a lie down when the DD's napped this avo and cooking with DD1 this afternoon

Right, must go and wrap some presents. No, just kidding No1

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/12/2009 20:29

queeny difficult one. I get a bit pissedoff when my dsis gives my dcs crap to eat, so I understand where you are coming from.
She likes to treat them with chocolate etc.. because I think it makes her feel good to see them enjoy it if that makes sense.

My dad also says I am cruel when dcs turn up with nothing but water in the cups, and always gives them pop.
Made me really mad at first, but he says it is important for them to get used to lots of differne tflavours.

I have now chilled a bit and just think everything in moderation.
cyteen great that you got pissed. you dirty stop up you 2.30am

hotter hope you are ok and not too much damage to the car.
You will get the hang of it soon. I loved my little fiesta that dh bought me before my test, so much that when I got in the other car for lessons I was shite, so ended up taking test in mine.
I will add that I only mastered clutch control AFTER I passed my test wtf.
How did I pass?
Hey miamla

I am now off to watch Twighlight for the umpteenth time while I wrap a mountain of xmas gifts.

I am a little depressed that I have finished reading New Moon. Only took two nights of reading, and I know It will be ages till I get to the pictures to see it, so I am having my fix by watching the first film again.
I could be getting obssessed....

miamla · 14/12/2009 20:31

hey no1

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/12/2009 20:34

X post sazzles
for the attacking again. I agree the ignoring is really out of order. You have been very understanding about it. I would be pissed off by now.

I get a little on edge with dd being a little pushy. So much that I heard a girl cry at soft play today and immediatley jumped up and asked if she was ok and assumed it was dd. how bad is that. Turns out I was right though, she was just playing a little rough, not pushing or shoving this time though.
Makes me feel awful,so cannot understand how the woman can ignore it.

Santa coming to our playgroup on Thursday, then party for her at pre school Friday.

Get some stuff wrapped now

SazzlesOnASled · 14/12/2009 20:35

You bloody wrapping goddess
