dizzy DS is also a champion cot-flumper so I haven't tried with a blanket yet am worried he will get tangled up and choke [pfb] Having said that, I put him under two blankets at naptime on Monday and he managed to change ends in his sleep but keep them over him, so perhaps I'll give it a go.

cyteen · 23/12/2009 11:28

Sorry, forgot to add a massive for being so pfb about the blankets. Anxiety is my middle name

PoinsettiaBouquets · 23/12/2009 11:38

Morning. We all iced in here, DH only just left to catch a train to work as motorway is closed and our pavements were lethal earlier.

Kurt just wears a sleepsuit and 2.5tog grobag, and 1 layer of cellular blanket (that never stays put). But his bedroom is now the warmest in the house with its own door and also has DD still sharing with him for no reason other than laziness on my part. Heating goes down to 7degrees after 11pm. He has been sleeping much better this week, I've had lie ins til 8am!

Making tagliatelle for an Xmas gift in a mo. I long to go sit in Ikea coffee shop to get the kids out but natch it will be jammed inside and out (I'm sure I've ranted before about building an Ikea in the centre of a peninsular-shaped city). Will have to make do with a cafetiere and CBBC.

dizzycringles · 23/12/2009 11:39

cyteen, tis why the world of grobags is soooooo profitable - we're all about the blanket anxiety

PoinsettiaBouquets · 23/12/2009 11:39

Oh yes, he has a fleece blanket across his pillow-end too as cotton gets so cold.

DingDongMiamlaOnHigh · 23/12/2009 12:29

i've just cleaned the fridge...must mean that the pil are on their way

snotexpectingsnow · 23/12/2009 12:53

No1 I used to have an allergy to red sauce (especially the stuff sardines were in) as a child - when I got it on my top lip I'd come out in hives. I don't get it anymore though (or maybe just eat properly now .

Lentil wasn't me asking about Steiner Education but I'm sure it helped whoever was!

DS sleeps in cotton pjs and a 0.5 tog grobag and it is a cool 24 degrees in his room tonight with the air-con on 19 - not that I'm rubbing it in or anything

MIL devastated and keeps calling crying. She'd even opened all her pressies yesterday so has nothing to open on Friday. She's decided to stay a bit longer but means she'll now miss DN's 2nd Birthday.

Dizzy the Chinese swear by ear candling - DH gets horrible wax (boak) and it has really helped him - I understand a lot of GPs don't want to do syringing (sp) anymore.

DH is wrapping my pressies in the bedroom

dizzycringles · 23/12/2009 13:33

thanks snot - unfortunately its not wax its a sinus inner ear/behind the drum build up something or other

it sounds like I have the clangers in my right ear - showing my age here

is your MIL with you or is she home again?

TwilightSleighing · 23/12/2009 15:10

Miamla the behind the curtains bit is one Reese does daily. She loves them. She'll even play peak-a-boo by herself there when she's bored.

As for the little munchkin, she's gotten herself in some precarious situations this morning. Dangling off the sofa arm while hanging onto the floor lamp. One leg hooked through the back of the latter back chair while the rest of her body attempts to dismount the chair.

Cyteen Reese typically sleeps in long sleeve pjs or a long sleeve t-shirt and leggings. As long as she has her fuzzy blanket she's happy. Most night I find her on top of it. The way she sleeps make ME cold. When she's forced to co-sleep, she doesn't use blankets at all.

DD1 has the dentist in less than an hour and Reese has her wellchild visit at 3. Reese's diapers the past two days have been UNGODLY so not sure she's actually WELL for this wellchild visit.

I should run and find myself some breakfast. BTW for anyone wondering, my pilates studio is not a fan page of mine if you'd like to take a peak into the studio. Or just search for Pilates Tonic on FB. I LOVE PILATES!!!

TwilightSleighing · 23/12/2009 15:11

is NOW a fan NOT not a fan

QueenofDreams · 23/12/2009 16:19

Hello ladies.
I have been trying to catch up but haven't been very successful.
no1 hope your run of bad luck is over now. Sounds like you've been through the mill lately.
cc we're every day drinkers here as well. we've cut down drastically over the last few weeks though.

waited in all day for packages yesterday. They didn't arrive. #i have missed the delivery today because they came at 6 am bloody hell I wasn't even out of bed by that time.
stupid house moving saga is rolling on as the letting agent is now messing us around big time. It's very frustrating as it felt like we were so close to having it all sorted out, now we have to start all over again.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 23/12/2009 16:24

Hey ladies, nice to hear that some wrapping is done.

dizzy pain re things not being deliver. Dh is fuming as he ordered something on Sunday which stated next day delivery and it still hasn't arrived. He rang them up and they said if it doesn't come today, then he should make other arrangements.

He is angry as he could have gone and got these things monday when he was off. He also says he is as he got something extra for dcs which he wanted to be a suprise for me and als something for me.

Back still bloddy sore, and mucking two stables and filling water buckets was no fun today.
It was funny,as I couldn't carry a full bucket of water so had to do about 20 journeys to each stable carrying a little at a time.

Re the stuff for bed. Ds just has vest and fleecy pjs or vest and pjs and socks.
I am also very very scared of blankets. I made the mistake of not using a grobag for ages, and when I recently tried he wasn't very happy.

I keep thinking should I try a blanket, but just too scared. My sister says I am very cruel just laying him in his cot with nothing. Agree with pb the cotton sheet does feel very cold.

DD had grobag till she was in her own bed at 16 month, then had fleecy pjs. Can't remember when she eventually got a pillow and little quilt but it was a long time.

I am now passing time till six to see if this parcel comes, then have to go give the horses some more hay.

It better bloody come, or I will be fuming, cos I could be going to the farm now.

SazzlesOnASled · 23/12/2009 17:01

Very here as we were going to go and see the Xmas lights and Santa here this afternoon/evening but it started raining and is now miserable . We could go tomorrow but will then miss the Childrens Christmas service at the local church which is lovely. Will see what the weather brings tomorrow and decide then.

DD's currently both munching on bowls of chick peas. Odd starving children

Re sleeping DD1 only had a long sleeve vest, sleepsuit and 2.5 tog sleeping bag and was fine when her room was only 14 degrees. However DD2 gets much colder and has the same plus a fleece blanket (she also turns 180 degrees most nights and is fine). The last few nights i have also done like buckets and turned the thermostat down to about 9 degrees (is in a cold place) and this has kept the DD's rooms at about 16-17 degrees. You can usually get fleece suits from Vertduabet, Primark, Next and Mothercare and these are best for chilly babes IMO. DD1 used one when transitioning from cot to bed and kicked covers off

No1 hope your parcel comes. DH ordered me a lovely bikini and it has apparently been 'lost by our carrier' (Royal Mail). However i scored two pairs of boots and some underwear as replacements when we went shopping yesterday

Right, must go and sort girls tea before they start eating the furniture

PoinsettiaBouquets · 23/12/2009 17:22

at so much blanket fear, how funny, has never occurred to me. What is it actually worries people then? DD was in a single bed and duvet at 19m, cot vacated in preparation for DS1's arrival!

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 23/12/2009 17:32

Evening all

We popped out to pick up a pressie for my sister to replace the one which has been returned. We got soaked by slush puppy falling from the sky, the only thing missing was the bright blue raspberry syrup.

No1 - sorry to hear about your delivery woes. Luckily for me amazon were able to get to us next day as we have little snow.

Nothing much else news at all. wrapping tonight and sorting things for the last rush tomorrow.

dizzycringles · 23/12/2009 17:41

back from the fresh hell that is tesco - I went whilst DH played with the kids in the snow D now acting as if I'd been away forever and won't putmedown let me go!

No1 please please please be careful with your back - sorry re the delivery tis a pita isn't it

QofD how annoying re your letting agents

oops I too shall be wrapping but did get a refill for my wrist sellotape thingy

sazz that place looks fab, hope you have the weather you need tomorrow and well done on the shopping trip!

HotterTheRedNosedReindeer · 23/12/2009 17:59

Wrapping almost done, just got a few bits to finish off tomorrow which is a good job as I have mis-typed virtually every word of this post and am in no fit state for owt

pertelote · 23/12/2009 18:05

So I was the only one who read Dizzy's original reference to her anal sellotape dispensing and thought what a talented lady she is then?!

HotterTheRedNosedReindeer · 23/12/2009 18:07

Back later

steakyroastingonanopenfire · 23/12/2009 19:54

wotcha

hots we love you too.

pfft having a bit of a war of words with himself and after a couple of emails I lost patience and emailed,

"Quite honestly I think you have a brass neck to tell me that I should have stayed in France so you could get to know Izzy and I am all out of sympathy for you and your situation. We were both responsible for our relationship but you took the decision to leave and you knew that I would want to come home if you did. So yes, how life is for all of us is because of the decision you took."

is that too mean? He won't know what a brass neck is. Should I be , or ?
