Should I be that I have never taken DD to meet Father Christmas, never mind DS??? She did see him at nursery yesterday and managed not to be too afraid even though he had a 'scary face' but that was the first time she's seen him close up and she's 4! I was a bit actually as I got home from work and said ooh DD did you see Father Christmas at nursery today and she yelled NO it was SANTA

4 more hours of work in the morning then I'm freeeeeeeeeeeee

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 17/12/2009 20:58

Can you tell Sazzles is on her works do?

Shhhhh early to bed with you all!

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 17/12/2009 20:59

the should be

QueenofDreams · 17/12/2009 23:08

My gosh - we have heavy snow along with thunder and lightning. It's really quite impressive! It is completely white outside already and still coming down.
I'm hoping the trains are cancelled though. get DP home for an extra day.
I am very glad we got the boiler sorted yesterday

steakyroastingonanopenfire · 18/12/2009 00:04

No snow here but I have finished my presentation for tomorrows interview.
Feeling a bit flumpy about it but it will be good practice and all that.

Dad coming for a visit tomorrow too which means there will definately be a tea and cake shop visit at some point in the next 36 hours.

Mince pies with clotted cream

SazzlesOnASled · 18/12/2009 00:07

Oi oops, whadddya mean????

Lovely evening although fing freezing, but sadly no snow, V QoD*

Sleep tight all

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 18/12/2009 07:06

Brrrrrr It's cold out there! DD up early so I popped out to the car to get wrapping paper and we have had some sleety rain which has now frozen solid and the poor weather station is reading -3 with a -8 wind chill. We are staying in until it is absolutely necessary to leave the house!

DD being super adorable and bringingmy things wrapped in her muzzy saying Chisma, Mama. I have to take it and say thank you unwrap it and hand it back.

Hope all those with snow can stay home and snuggle today - if not please be safe out there.

Morning all

I have made it through Christmassy drifts an inch thick to work, my toes are chilled but I am feeling soooo festive! This is obviously helped by the fact I am finishing in four hours and don't have to come back for 19 days

Oops your DD sounds so sweet. The nearest DS is getting to Christmas is eating Christmas cards

VG hope your doggies are OK?

Steaky Good Luck for today I would cross my toes but fear they would snap off due to being frozen...

HotterTheRedNosedReindeer · 18/12/2009 09:11

Oi where are you all???

I am tossing it off at work but there is no one to talk to

Been awake since 5am so running on caffeine at the moment, need chat

cyteen · 18/12/2009 09:26

You're tossing off at work hotter? A leetle too much information for this time of the morning

VG intrigued re. dog drama, please elaborate.

steaky GOOD LUCK MISSUS you will be awesome, I just know it

Well, I'm here MNing getting ready for the toddler Xmas get together this afternoon (NCT friends and their LOs coming over for a rampage, basically). Very odd night though, DP woke up to be violently sick at 2am, I mean really violently, like force 10 puke. Not nice. Fortunately DS seems okay but DP still feels bad - he was shivering like a whipped dog when he got back in bed, it lasted about half an hour, was a bit scary tbh.

We were supposed to be having a big night out tomorrow night - taking DS down to grandparents this evening, then going out to a massive party in London at which many of our rarely-seen friends will be - but between the weather and the puking I don't think we'll get to go. Excuse me while I say FUCK SHIT BOLLOCKS

QueenofDreams · 18/12/2009 09:39

Morning all.
stteaky best of luck with you r presentation

hey hots

cyteen swear away, it's fine

I am also intrigued by the doggy drama vg

well we have about 3 inches of snow here. The bloody trains are still running though bugger. It's DP's work do today. Medieval lunch followed by ice skating followed by the circus, followed by drinks. God alone knows what time he'll get back tonight.

HotterTheRedNosedReindeer · 18/12/2009 09:42

Oh Cyteen that is a bugger Are you going to risk going to PIL's today and see how tomorrow is? I know you have been really looking forward to your party.

cyteen · 18/12/2009 09:46

Not sure yet. The thought of driving for hours in the dark on icy roads doesn't fill me with glee - my anxiety is up at the moment anyway, probably pre-Christmas tension, so any little thing that might threaten DS is making me wig out. DP not keen on the idea either. We'll probably wait until tomorrow and see how the snow/sickness is then.

In the bigger picture, we were away last weekend and will be driving down to family on Thursday anyway so do we really want to drag DS/ourselves all over the country for the sake of a night out, however good it will be? Yesterday I was all up for it and madly excited, today I just feel knackered at the thought

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 18/12/2009 09:49

Every of snow.

CYteen - Hope DH is better today and you manage to get where you want to be.

STEAKY - fingers crossed for your presentation today.

Hotter - I know your office is quiet but thingslike that should be kept for home

HotterTheRedNosedReindeer · 18/12/2009 10:08

Oh you lot are all such spoilsports

HotterTheRedNosedReindeer · 18/12/2009 10:31

Sshhhh don't tell the HotMamas but we're eating pot-luck chocolates now, they're yummy

LOL at the thought that I am important enough for my own office, sadly I am in open-plan hell land and have no real opportunity for naughtiness. In fact the new mantra of our building is open-plan so not even the directors have their own office and are out with the rest of us.

1.07 to go...

cyteen · 18/12/2009 11:19

Keep double-clicking that mouse hots

HotterTheRedNosedReindeer · 18/12/2009 11:30

LOLOL

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 18/12/2009 11:33

hots - less than 30mins!

SazzlesOnASled · 18/12/2009 11:43

Yay, we have a sprinkling of snow here. Enough to look pretty, not too much to be disruptive. Fab

cyteen a LOT can happen in 24hrs so don't write off the plans just yet. Hopefully snow will all melt and DP will be back to 100% (random illness sounded nasty BTW ) and Cinderella can go and get lashed and dance the night away to the ball

18 mins hots

SazzlesOnASled · 18/12/2009 11:45

Forgot to say, hope the presentation goes well today steaky . Knock em dead. Well, not literally. Obviously.
