oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 16/12/2009 09:24

Morning all

Good to see the feeling of love flowing through the thread. I am on a postage mission today so need to get off my bottom and moving. DD has just sneezed a huge snot ball on my black t-shirt so I have to change first and DD need dressing. I have given in and let her watch 'Show me, Show me' until I am done mning sorting a list out.

cyteen · 16/12/2009 09:27

Aww lwfh many many many congratulations on the arrival of your strapping young lass That has really made my day, I'm so happy for you all. Our first sibling, I can't believe it! It's mad enough that there's a 'Due August 2010' thread now. Welcome to the world little lady

VG lovely to hear you so cheerful too. Great news about your mum, and the general joy of boys Toddzilla is brilliant, I shall be squirrelling that one away for future use

santa I lol'd at your tantrum description - DS had one just like it yesterday afternoon for no apparent reason. The feet drumming on the floor made me cackle, guiltily

Sazz morning run is cancelled as my right hip, knee and ankle are all hurting quite a bit - the result of yesterday's all-day wrestlethon with DS. We went to the museum and then to John Lewis, which obviously gave him the opportunity for much fun exploring and running off, hence there was quite a lot of squirming-toddler-under-arm scenarios as I dragged him away from the escalators/out of the cafe kitchen.

He was soooooo cute though, it was impossible not to laugh at his super-proud explorer's face.

Anyway, I'm going to do some vigorous housework this morning and go to yoga tomorrow - nice and warm in there!

dizzycringles · 16/12/2009 09:31

morning all, not a great night/day here - they ALL have fecking green noses and barking coughs DD1 couldn't even speak this morning when she got up - was it bad that I enjoyed it for a little while its not so much the watery eyes and noses that bother me (well snotty noses make me BLEURGH) but DD2 and D both have really heavy watery eyes have had to cancel Poppy & Poppettes for their own safety DD2 is furious in fact, that doesn't cover it and D is now dosed up to the high heavens and back in bed - going to be a long day I fear

LongWay lovely news, well done you I LOVE big snuggly babies that you can have a good squeeze at lovely name too!!

right am off to get on, sorry have been so absent recently, trying to get trust stuff sorted before the chair disappears off on hols till 8th Feb, late shift and all the visitors have left me with my head spinning. DH supposed to be off till Mon but now back in tomorrow right through and I've 30 buns to do for someone for tomorrow, we've a crowd coming on Fri night and I wanted to do the food for that - Sainsbos party food here I come, thank god yesterday was pay day!!

love to all and will try to catch up soon I promise

dizzycringles · 16/12/2009 09:32

oh and I Lurve you all too

PoinsettiaBouquets · 16/12/2009 09:45

Looooooving you is easy cuz you're beautiful (lalalalala lalalalala ....)

Morning all. Kurt had a temp last night but seems to be over it now. Waiting for cleaner to arrive so I can drive him to sleep and start reading my mum's new book.

HotterTheRedNosedReindeer · 16/12/2009 09:47

Just nipping on to yell

Congratulations to LWFH that is such lovely news

Have to admit I was LOLing at you ladies whose eyes are watering at a 9lb baby, you bunch of wusses

Love you all too but our director and the chief exec are in today so need to get of mn and look busy...

2 more days of work after today then I'm freeeeee

Laters...

dizzycringles · 16/12/2009 10:05

Hots whilst I felt the same re the weight my eyes still watered a touch obo LWFH!!!

am scouring the promotions/codes thread looking for something to inspire me

cyteen · 16/12/2009 10:10

Perhaps that's how I should approach the thorny issue of my stepmum's present dizzy...tell me, what would you get for a 60yo woman with no hobbies, massively sensitive skin, allergic to everything, overweight and too plagued by imaginary health issues to exercise?

She's not a bad person (see how motherhood has changed me! Halo) but she's so joyless.

dizzycringles · 16/12/2009 10:15

cyteen a tin of biscuits (biscuiteers) or a magazine subscription or M&S hamper/ voucher for local day spa/ gardening stuff or an MP£ player reduced to £10 on WHSMiths web page

dizzycringles · 16/12/2009 10:15

or if she's really THAT joyless how about a bottle of vodka and a rabbit

cyteen · 16/12/2009 10:18

lol what a disturbing image. Mind you, my dad is such a workaholic that it could be a winner...NO NO AAGH MY MIND'S EYE

cyteen · 16/12/2009 10:18

I am currently browsing the Clarks sale Housework or new shoes for me? Housework or new shoes for me? must - tear - self - away...

dizzycringles · 16/12/2009 10:19

sorry - that was a tad harsh on my part

steaknife · 16/12/2009 10:36

wotcha - only really scanned since I last posted so

woohoo welcome lil miss LWFH and oops stop poking people in the eyes with your chilli fingers or I will be standing you to face a blank wall for a minute for each year of your age.

I think t'interweb is finally sorted. DD finally got tooth number 6 at the weekend so has cheered up no end, but has been taken over by the snot monster. Dizz it sounds like the same cold as your brood.

Did anyone watch Graham Norton last night. Robert Downey Jr was on it and while I could watch him watch paint dry I don't think he really got the humour of the show. Perhaps he is too grown up for me cos I was giggling like a six year old at the tea-pot blowing.

pertelote so you must have been on the good girl list after all!

santa i find DS's tantrums sweet too! he puts on his crossest face, stomps his feet and usually slaps the nearest hard surface. This results in him crying because he's hurt his hand. Is it mean to ignore him? I thought he'd have worked out the connection by now

sazz i'm genuinely impressed with your early wrapping! i always do mine on christmas eve with a glass of wine or two! every year i aim to wrap dp's while he's at work but every year i end up hiding under a sheet with him in the same room!

poppy hiya! nice to see you! i would love to have been a fly on the wall when you hit the nuns! being the good catholic girl i am, i reckon i'd get sent straight to hell if that had happened to me

snot i reckon clean, tidy children aren't normal! DS is happiest when he's got muck on him of some description! Seriously though, children need to learn that dirt isn't a bad thing. A friend of mine hasn't let her DS (same age as ours) try feeding himself yet because she doesn't want him to get food on himself! She was amazed that i let my DS loose with a bowl of weetabix and a couple of spoons (i found out that he eats better if he's got a spoon in each hand )

lwfh WOW!!!! congratulations!!!!!

thanks for conversion oops Good grief! she wasn't little!!

vg lovely to see you with a smile on your face

oops DS was watching that whilst i was 'busy' too As kids programmes go, i quite like that one! I love Teddington!

cyteen you made me smile ... "super proud explorer's face" so sweet!
As for step-mum, get her a blanket, or a film or a book. sorted! lol re vodka and rabbit idea!

hi dizz, don't forget to breathe occasionally, hope the girls all improve, bye dizz

hi hots

DS was pogoing in his cot when i went up so i gave him a blast of inhaler, he screamed, tucked himself into a little ball and promptly went back to sleep. I did feel guilty but had to remind myself that its for his own good. He's had another blast of it this morning whilst i was adopting the oops' mum's position. We had to have a long cuddle afterwards
He has been playing with the spacer this morning. And even copied me by putting it over his mouth but as soon as i put the inhaler on the end of it, he freaks.

Oh, and i've realised today that i really am a sad grown up! Mum has bought DP and I a tumble dryer for our Christmas present! It arrived today but is getting swapped for a different model because mum ordered us a front vented one. Rear vent model should be here on Friday though

miamla · 16/12/2009 10:55

woah! bit of an essay that one! can you tell DS is having a nap?

steaknife · 16/12/2009 10:56

Ladies, it's been six months since the last French fumble, so apolgoies for being distracted.

right am off, girls medicine is wearing off [meep]

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 16/12/2009 11:04

I just got my 20week scan date through it is the 8th Jan at 8.30am but at least they have tied it in with my consultant appintment which seems a little too organised for the NHS.

DD has collapsed on my lap, finished making some cards, boxed up things for posting. Now watching Heston bloomgingtit.

it is also doing a poor impression of snow here!
