Just running in quickly to say I THINK Longway had the baby. Someone posted on her FB page "WELCOME MAGDALENA!"

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 15/12/2009 18:05

oops I don't blame you calling it off. Good for you.
Taking the goodies to the folks home is wonderful.

sazzles that house is beautiful, I eyed that one up too.
We came back from bil today with a huge gift for dd.(I have been told it is a doll house,so good job we didn't.)

pb she is in mornings at preschool till next september. Then she will move to afternoon, and ds will start in the morning.
He doesn't have to start as will only just be 2, so could start in the Jan after.
She gets funding at Easter I think.

Can't see myself going to take him, then coming home, then going back to collect him, wait around for half an hour till she starts, then go home and then back to collect.

I only live about 3 mile away, but will be a bit daft I think.
Won't get time to do anything.
vg how is your mammy?

TwilightSleighing · 15/12/2009 18:06

Sazzles we have the almost EXACT same doll house. DD1 got it for her 1st Christmas. It was from ILs. It's gotten loads of use!!

Seriously...off now. Again

PoinsettiaBouquets · 15/12/2009 18:55

Yay Longway!!! No1 I would advise against volunteering for 3 schoolruns a day, esp paying for the privilige! It's do-able but it's no fun and as you say there's so little time left between. Plus if your eldest is doing afternoons you never know you might all get the odd lie in in the mornings. I'm too tight to send mine to pre-school til they get in free (term after third birthday.) And mine's only a 15min walk away.

VG I keep a list of all the books I read on my Bookcrossing page. Have only managed 14 a year the last 2 years (wonder why) but I aim to double that in 2010.

cyteen · 15/12/2009 19:01

oops thanks for the marvellous-looking tiffin recipe, I'll be making that tomorrow to give to DS's nursery staff as a Christmas thank you As tomorrow is the start of my TIME OFF, I should have plenty of time without someone trying to climb up my leg or demanding bananas (and that's just DP ). Did I mention I had two weeks off work?

As to your friend, she's just plain rude and/or lazy. Be straight with her: it was arranged months ago, cafe not suitable etc., what's the other reason oh yes YOU'RE PREGNANT ffs and can do without wrangling a toddler across town for someone else's sake. If she can't be arsed get used to the idea, well, she's only one woman out of 7, I'm sure the rest of you will have a good time without her [gavel]

So unbelievably tired after a day of Christmas shopping combined with chasing Joe all over town as he roams free. Have also done the equivalent of a power walk (up massive hill to university with bag full of books and pram full of toddler). Still missing stepmum's present though She's a feckin' nightmare!

SazzlesOnASled · 15/12/2009 20:04

Right, who's up for a fight with ungrateful NCT participants . PB you are excused due to potential conflict of interest

Seriously oops i would be very , but good on you for going to visit the old folks. They will be much more deserving

Glad to hear i got a unique dolls house .....NOT

Most of DDs pressies are things i would normally buy - new swimming cozzies, vests, new plates/bowl/cutlery and books/colouring. Just looks a lot i think, although they do fit into a plastic bag each so maybe not too bad

Cyteen i do believe you were paying Hotmamas a visit in your time off?

Not convinced LWFH has had the baby as all quiet as far as i can see on FB, but maybe mrLongway has posted in AIBU instead of here and is too busy defending himself against the lovely harridans MNetters

Have wrapped DD's stockings, going to do DH's now and his pressies whilst he is away

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 15/12/2009 20:08

Sazz - aren't your girls a little young for stockings

SazzlesOnASled · 15/12/2009 20:13

It's DH'd stockings you need to worry about more

SazzlesOnASled · 15/12/2009 20:13

How is the onion marmalade? You stopped crying yet?

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 15/12/2009 20:16

It's very yummy and DH is demanding a jar already! I was amazed at how little it makes from all those blasted onions! I have also made some bottles of sweet chilli sauce.

miamla · 15/12/2009 20:32

no oops don't give him one now!!!! wrap it and put it in his hamper!!!

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 15/12/2009 20:37

That is the plan Miamla he will just have to wait!! Am planning marmelade, chilli sauce, homemade wheat crackers, cheese that a friend makes, tiffin and a bottle of his favorite wine.

miamla · 15/12/2009 20:39

hi girls
DS still poorly He hasn't been 100% for a couple of weeks now. Been to the docs today (saw my lovely school-friend GP and he asked how my bum was ) and he's checked him over, reckons he hasn't got chest infection but that the cough is the remains of being ill and that his airways are narrowed. i've got an inhaler to use on him...erm yeah...anyone else tried to use an inhaler on a toddler?! not my most successful half hour at being a mum!

anyhow, good news is that since being ill, DS sleeping alot better

miamla · 15/12/2009 20:42

cor, that hamper sounds lovely! don't forget to put a pair of socks in though...every man needs socks for christmas. you may think not a good thing for a hamper but after he wears them, they'll smell cheesey, so they'll fit right in with the food stuff!

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 15/12/2009 20:43

Miamla - did they give you a spacer device? if so and however mean it seen letting him scream with the facemask on whilst you pump the inhaler in is the best way to get him to take it in deep enough for it to work properly. It is very horrible and distressing for you and him at the time but nothing a little bit of choccie/raisins won't solve. He is probably sleeping better as being even slightly short of breath is very exhausting.

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 15/12/2009 20:46

He is getting [[http://www.amazon.co.uk/SockShop-Dare-Wear-Banana-Yellow/dp/B001L0C6JQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=clothi ng&qid=1260909886&sr=8-1 these] to keep with te food theme

miamla · 15/12/2009 20:46

yeah, got a spacer thing. need a couple more hands though...two to pin him and his arms down, one to hold the spacer thing on his face and one to pump the inhaler!

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 15/12/2009 20:47

Again but correct this time.

He is getting [[http://www.amazon.co.uk/SockShop-Dare-Wear-Banana-Yellow/dp/B001L0C6JQ/ref=sr11?ie=UTF8&s=clothi ng&qid=1260909886&sr=8-1 these][ to keep with te food theme grin

CaptainCaveman · 15/12/2009 20:47

miamla did the give you an inhaler without giving you a spacer device?! I'd go back and ask for one - at least you get a fighting chance that way. My friend has one for her ds and she's made it into a game. He quite happily sucks away on it.

Have crowned myself NoviceFBG after I made pizza from scratch AND it was passed as tasty by Big Cook (dh).

steaky has your plant pooed or not?

miamla · 15/12/2009 20:47

lol oops i believe we're thinking on the same lines for him! those socks are awful and great at the same time!

CaptainCaveman · 15/12/2009 20:48

X post, i see you got a spacer!!

miamla · 15/12/2009 20:48

here's the link for oops

miamla · 15/12/2009 20:49

mine worked first time

oopsandbabyJesusinacoconut · 15/12/2009 20:50

My mean mum used the jumper on but arms not in the sleeves then tuck the sleeves behind me lying on the floor (sofa apparently too soft and wriggle out able) then hand on the mask and inhaler. or even meaner she tucked my hands by my sides and held them in place with er knees leaving hands free I was a mistreated child

miamla · 15/12/2009 20:50

hi cc yeah, got a spacer...tried making into a game already. i had a turn with it on my face, then teddy did and then DS didn't! i was actually more successful with it straight in his mouth. i guess its quite similar to the kazoo he loves playing
