Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

ds1's feet never grow anymor. I've also decidedd to not buy new uniform, as he only trashes it anyway!

ThisIsWhyYouWereToldNotTo · 24/08/2009 12:33

We're doing the shoe and uniform thing next Tuesday Her old shoes lasted nearly a full school year so are completely wrecked regardless of foot size, and her uniform is indecent on the arse Need to check her skirt actually - that may be doable.

We're still battling over trousers. I am a Mean Mummy. School trousers look like sh*t imo . I think the only ones I would consider would be insanely expensive wool blend type ones, and even then you either need too long, or to replace them as they have a growth spurt. DD wants trousers as her friends have them due to them having "nice mummies". I am being petty. I buy the uniform, therefore no soddin trousers. So there.

mustrunmore · 24/08/2009 14:05

I would never have worn trousers to school, I'd rather have run away (too fat for trousers). AS it happens, I had the same skirt for the whole 5 years of secondary school tyou know; started off ankle length, ended up above my knees

ThisIsWhyYouWereToldNotTo · 24/08/2009 14:07

I think I only had the one for secondary too

ThisIsWhyYouWereToldNotTo · 24/08/2009 14:10

Oh crap.

DH has just been on the phone to FIL. MIL has cancer on her face, and is weeing blood (ie, not just "blood in wee" iyswim). They are apparently waiting for various test results. This can't be good can it?

Jas · 24/08/2009 16:22
Sad
Jas · 24/08/2009 16:24

I've already done uniform, shoes and new bags and lunchboxes for the dds[smug]
Even got a spiderman bag for ds fr nursery to replace the old one of dd2s he has been using.

DD1 only wears trousers, dd2 only skirts so can't even hand down the grown out of trousers from dd1

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/08/2009 21:57

flame. Doesn't sound good.

Mum is waiting for breast biopsy result at the moment, but we might never speak to her again away, so not sure if we'll be told result or not. Suspect it'll be fine and that spots on scan will be due to her steroids.

Dd will only wear twirly twirly skirts, so we're screwed if her school uniform doesn't allow them!

Is 12.5G really big Friz? It doesn't sound it. Dd is 9G already.

EachPeachPearMum · 24/08/2009 22:36

flame

csws- I take it you had a really good week then?

Think we're getting new uniform tomorrow too... it is so vile ... she can wear summer uniform until half term... but in pre-reception year you have to have the blazer too... and it is £84, so I think it works out better to buy the winter uniform. At least next year she'll get 1 and 1/2 terms wear out of it.

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/08/2009 22:41

Indeed EPPM. I even have the (human) claw marks on my arms to prove it.

Phoenix · 24/08/2009 22:43

£84 for a blazer.

Flame.

We got the results for Noah's kidney scan today, it's all normal . I've got my GTT tomorrow. And Lewis has an appointment on 22nd Sept for his tongue tie. All we seem to have lately is hospital/doctor/hv appointments.

EachPeachPearMum · 24/08/2009 23:25

Phoenix- glad the scan was fine.

csws- have you ever looked in on the 'stately home' threads?

mustrunmore · 25/08/2009 07:36

They're trying to force blazers into our school too, burt I'm resisting. Not as much as £84 but still too much; if he didnt have to have logo pekit, then we could get it from asda like the rest of his unirom and so afford the blazer. But I hate blazers anyway. Just remebered though that he lost his woolly hat (logo one), shit. Akll uniform is aordered online noe .

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/08/2009 22:00

Great news re scan Phoenix. How was GTT today?

I've looked in on them occasionally EPPM, but not posted.

Jas · 25/08/2009 22:00

God news on kidney scan Phoenix Good luck with all the other appts.

csws. Sorry you had a rubbish time away.

No blazers here til senior school, and they let you buy a plain black unbranded one and sew on the badge yourself....they know their catchment area well!

Jas · 25/08/2009 22:07

I have a bedroom
Not decorated yet (needs replastering first) but a bed in a room DD2 and ds are in their (almost) finished room now.

Phoenix · 25/08/2009 22:09

When i went for GTT i was expecting to be sat around bored stiff for 2hrs but they said they've changed how they do it now and they only take a fasting blood test then you go home so i was only in a few mins . They will only contact me if that blood test shows anything.

Phoenix · 25/08/2009 22:11

for bed Jas

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/08/2009 22:24

Sounds a bit odd Phoenix! My fasting ones when they detected the GD were fine, so sounds like a pretty crap and pointless test!

Yay for new room Jas. At last!

Some of the time away was nice. We had a day at the beach (though the sea was out too far to even really see!) and a day at the safari park, which dd (and we) really enjoyed.

I think that dd might have a bruised or cracked rib from some acrobatics on the trampoline yesterday. Going to see chiropractor friend tomorrow to get her to have a fiddle and see what she thinks.

Frizbe · 25/08/2009 23:05

Oooh hope dd is Ok CSWS, sounds painful for her. Sorry you had a bad time at your mums, hope her biopsy comes back clear.

Flame doesn't sound too good, might be ok though, skin cancer is quite treatable if caught early enough and you can get blood in urine with bad UTI infections (fingers x'd that's what it is)
don't worry I haven't brought trousers for dd1! I need to sort out a day to catch up with you next week, txt me if you free!

Phoenix, yay for ds being ok and for the tests being so quick for the GD! good news you have a date to sort the tongue tie out, did you find a good book to help calm things down?

Yay for bedroom Jas at last!

Good news here, we're opening another store its all in the hands of the solicitors now, so hopefully I don't jinx anything by telling you, it will be in Beeston, Nottingham I've sweetalked Unquiet Dad into coming down and doing a signing on our Grand Opening day in Nov (prays that we have the store open by then!)

mustrunmore · 26/08/2009 09:49

Nottingham? Not North London?

Eek for rampoline. Our neighbours friend aged 6 broke his arm on one last week.

Hurray for a bedroom

Off to Southend tmomo but weather looking dodogy now¬! I really dont want to spend 4 days in the sealife centre!

EachPeachPearMum · 26/08/2009 10:08

wow Frizbe- that is excellent news!

csws- hope dd is okay

phoenix- hope results are fine

mrm- hope weather improves... it is dire atm here... enjoy Saarffend anyway

Jas- yay for bedroom! finally got mine back...and end up with one or other of them in it each night

MmmEggs · 26/08/2009 13:19

I knew that UnquietDad wrote, but I have no idea what he writes

Hope she is ok CSWS

Been having hair done all morning - now no longer washed out dye colour, and has more shape to it. Nothing drastic, but just "better". Got back to discover that the short one decided he needed something off the shelf above my desk... one shelf off wall, holes in wall from where they just crumble, books everywhere... Yay.

mustrunmore · 26/08/2009 13:23

lol, that would match where we still have no curtain rail but 2 big holes in the wall.

MmmEggs · 26/08/2009 13:28

We still have the curtain in the lounge that can only be pulled gently at the right angle or it all falls down

Boy is on a whole room moving plan now . Oh and a catch on the outside of the door up high, which actually seems the safest way to let Babygus sleep!

Half the crap on and around my desk I won't need in a couple of weeks, so a move around does sound good. I was eyeing up a laptop table from Ikea, but then remembered that I use a proper keyboard to stop my wrists aching.
