Thanks all. I think the recovery was a perk-up-to-say-goodbye type thing.

I now have a funeral to arrange, and dps family to deal with, in addition to very tearful dds and an angry dp.....

Why angry dp Jas?

He had an unusual relationship with his dad, and I think it is a grief reaction.

Added to the fact that his sister has not offered to help pay for the funeral after fil virtually cleared all his bank accounts over the past few months, and left nothing, not even a will.

Has something happened to mn? It looks like the entire thread is in bold....or is it my computer?

Well, I'm feeling slightly calmer....have given dp and his sister a few funeral options t consider. I am going out with ds for the day tomrrow, so will see what they want when I get back.
I'll be an expert at this by the end of the week.

My parents were burgled yesterday. Just as well n one is sick!

Oooh - I got vouchers for a day at a spa for my birthday, including a treatment and lunch....for two Just what I need right now.

Do you apply csws? or is this a 'just in case' place? was wondering about that myself... we don't get the stuff until october though

We're sending her to the village state school EPPM, so yes, we do need to apply.

Sorry if this posts loads of times i'm on my phone (from Cornwall). I applied for ds1's school place online on sept 1st. I didn't get the letter and form til the middle of last week but i could do it online without it. for those lo's starting in sept '10, ds won't start til jan '11 here. Sorry to hear about fil jas

@ multiple posting Phoenix....hope you are having a good time.

We will get forms (with a ref no to apply online, but it varies by county csws.)at the end of Sep for school applications. Can't do it before October here. Check your cc web site for dates if you are worried they might have missed you.

For csws, from (I think) your county website....

"In November 2009 a letter will be sent to all parents/carers who have been identified as having children of the appropriate age, inviting them to apply for a primary school place online or to request a booklet from our Customer Service Centre (CSC). If parents/carers have not received the letter by the end of November they should contact the CSC on 0300 123 4043 to request a booklet.

You will be able to apply from 16 November 2009 and the application deadline is 29 January 2010. We recommend that you apply online.

csws- sorry, hadn't realised there had been a change of plan...is this due to the downturn, or was the school not what you expected?

Should I apply for a state school place for dd do you think?
Does this mean I have to do open days etc?
Have you done open days Phoenix... surely there haven't been any yet? (am not asking Jas/mrm, as I'm assuming theirs are going to the older childrens' schools)
