DS should get a sibling place as dd2 will still be at the junior school when he starts. We can't apply for a few more weeks yet though.

I'm feeling slightly better about dd1s school options today....the only other school she has a reasonable chance of getting into (better reputation, exam results high enough to keep it off special measures, but a bus ride away, which we would have to pay for) has got lower exam results than our local one this year!

DS is also a non-sleeping boy. Up til 10 most nights recently, and waking early with odd dreams.

Flamesparrow · 09/09/2009 18:42

DS is currently completely dandruff free... used up an entire bottle of head and shoulders (why exactly DH didn't put it away before putting him in the bath, I have no idea), cried lots when his eyes stung and then at having to have 10,0000000 bubbles washed out.

Just picked DD up from first session of Rainbows - she loved it

lol, ds2 got through a good half a bottle of christian dior aftershave this morning. Dh doesnt know yet. It was a xmas present from a friend and he 'saves it for best'

Flamesparrow · 09/09/2009 18:47

I was pleased - DS was very generous with his use of this hideous aftershave of DH's a while back (It smells like old men)

Ds1 came home from pre school on monday with soap in his hair. He told the staff he'd done it because his hair was stuck up

mustrunmore · 09/09/2009 18:53

I used dh's v stinky aftersave to put down thew tpoilet after the boys had done horrible poos once

Flamesparrow · 09/09/2009 18:53

I remember collecting DS from nursery and them informing me that he was in different clothes from where he had decided to wash his hair in the sinks.... and the hair of 2 other children

mustrunmore · 09/09/2009 18:58

Do you remeber when I took ds1 for a look round a prospective nursery, and another child painted the ENTIRE FRONT of ds1 with orange paint?! Cornerred him and did it in the blink of an eye virtually

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/09/2009 20:02

lol at all of your horror stories.

mrm - how much roughly would a used original grobag go for at a car boot sale? Just trying to work out whether it's worth ebaying them or not.

mustrunmore · 09/09/2009 20:04

Depends were really. Swanley Bar... £3? Edgware...£1.50?

CantSleepWontSleep · 09/09/2009 20:12

Ah, might as well chance ebay then. Thanks.

Frizbe · 09/09/2009 20:15

Ello you lot what have I missed out on then, since my little trip south?

All good here, have skip read the last few posts, guess I'd better go apply for school then and pray dd2 gets into the same one as dd1 be fun if she doesn't eh.....mind you we have a friend of ours teaching reception at my 2nd choice, so that could be fun at all your horror stories too, am being thankful we've not had any orange paint horror stories lately. Though do you remember the time I was BF dd2, whilst the Manhattan Toy rep was round and dd1 fell down our two steps from the decking and trashed her face, oh boy that was fun 'picture friz attempting to run across room with baby on boob and maintain modesty, whilst rescuing bloody and whimpering dd1...)well I saw the rep today for the 1st time in ages, and we both had a good laugh about it (dd1 did ok out of it too, she got a free groovy girl to make herself feel better!)

Frizbe · 09/09/2009 20:17

ooh see you posted whilst I was doing stuff!
I ebayed our grobags and did quite well on them, so defo a vote for ebay here loads of people asked if the thermometers came with them too, so be prepared.

mustrunmore · 09/09/2009 20:35

The thermometeres?! Jeez.
ebay will get you more omney, but omg its such a hassle these days; too many stupid new rules and charges. I hate that new thing that the most you can charge for postage on books is 2.75 even if the books weigh a ton. And you cant leave neg feedback for a buyer even if they were a nightmare.

mustrunmore · 09/09/2009 20:36

Oh yeah, I did mean to say hello Friz

CantSleepWontSleep · 10/09/2009 09:05

Hello friz.

Can those of you with boys suggest ideal 1st birthday presents for one please?

mustrunmore · 10/09/2009 10:04

God, I cant remeber either of them being 1
Erm, I think ds1 had those tomy quack-a-long ducks. ds2 still loves his scuttlebug even now its way too small for him, and and those red plsatic motorbikes from elc are a good 'in advance' thing. Playdough? Chunky garage; basically anything you can shove wheeled things in and out of, th more ramps and doors the better.

Flamesparrow · 10/09/2009 10:22

Anything bashable.

Doing happy dance here. Gas bill going down by £18 a month - and it is accurate n everything!

Ooh and I bought a bump band so I am not falling out of my top any more. Best £5 I have spent in ages!

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 10/09/2009 10:43

How have you managed to get it down?

Think I recall an ?elc thing with 3 chunky vehicles and 3 places to shove them in order to make a noise. RThat was a popular one.

Flamesparrow · 10/09/2009 10:44

They were charging me an extortionate amount all last year, it had to come down really!

OP posts:
Phoenix · 10/09/2009 16:42

Our gas and electricity have both gone up by a long way as they were charging us a stupidly low amount since we changed to them.

Flamesparrow · 10/09/2009 20:11

We had that before - another reason for the drop as we had been on repayment mode.

Offering stuff on freecycle "when would be the best time to come and have a look?" Erm, no, take the crap away, look and then do what you want with it. I'm not a bloody jumble sale!

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 11/09/2009 08:30

We got through 4 days. Day 5 we're back to the whinging argumentative morning brat.

OP posts:
mustrunmore · 11/09/2009 08:34

What you giving away?

CantSleepWontSleep · 11/09/2009 08:40

This would be too grown up for a 1 yr old wouldn't it?

Thinking of maybe something like this
