I feel a bit rough, but thankfully it came to nothing. Glad you managed to get out and about daisy. They have a Clarks shop with fitting at the Designer Outlet now, maybe there is one closer to you though? I got DS2s last week when we took DHs DD out and I think they were £22. still have DS1 to kit out, maybe on holiday.

I'm just having a rest from the packing. DH will be home soon and I haven't finished the ironing or done the dishes yet. Am hoping DS1 and I have enough clothes without anything from the ironing basket as it's not quite dry. can't find DS2s favourite PJ top, so he'll get stroppy about that. Holidays are such hard work!

RIAlityBites · 24/08/2009 21:29

diet gone by the wayside here. Am taking Rosemary COnley book with me, and lots of homemade meals, but I don't know how I'll fare, I just know I couldn't do SW on holiday.

right, packing. back later...

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/08/2009 21:46

Took us nearly 2 hours to get Jamlet to sleep tonight (with the help of some bonjela, calpol, a nappy change, a massage, some raisins, some water, a story and lots of cuddles!) The past 2 nights have been difficult too, but not a patch on tonight. Not sure what the matter is exactly but hope it doesn't last

LittleMissNorty · 24/08/2009 21:56

My DDs back teeth are coming in all at the same time Jammy....only a thought....poor thing, hope she's ok!

Enjoy spending Fury

Have good hols Ria

Glad you are feeling better Daisy....that was some bug!

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/08/2009 22:05

We did think about teething Norty, it could be that. I can't feel anything definite at the back but you never know. Another thought is tummy ache - her tummy was feeling quite hard and I don't know if she's had a poop today or not (not at home, don't know about nursery). So I gave it a good massage (which she seemed to like) and we gave her some raisins, so if it is that it will hopefully clear tomorrow?

LittleMissNorty · 24/08/2009 22:09

Its difficult when they can't tell you isn't it? DD struggles to tell me when she's like that what is hurting. If in doubt...calpol! That's my motto!

DD looks at my huge bruises and dressings from my op last week and says "good girl mummy....sticker"....which means I must have been a good girl and done a wee on the potty to get a sticker . Saturday in town she clapped in the loo when I done a poo in the BHS loos and shouted "good girl mummy...poo poo" [blush

RIAlityBites · 25/08/2009 00:05

LOL Norty, aren't they fab.

only DS1s clothes left to pack, shoes and picnic. I can't find my lovely bag to put my book, magazine and embroidery in. Will have to use a carrier. The best thing about DH not coming is I don't have to do any of the frantic housework I would normally do, as he can do it while we're away

baggins has back teeth coming too, I don't normally look in his mouth often, so it was a bit of a surprise. the boys all took ages to get to sleep tonight, I suppose it's excitement

DH is taking us to Fountains Abbey tomorrow, and DM & DF are meeting us there and then taking us the rest of the way, DH will visit his DD and come home.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/08/2009 07:01

Have a fab time Ria!

MakkaPakkasWilly · 25/08/2009 07:55

I think I must be a bad mother.
When DS1 won't go to bed, I tend not to give him massages and raisins, I generally just yell 'go to bloody bed'.

It works though.

Am also bad as DS2 was keeping me awake at night with his whinging and grizzling so he's in another room now. Rationale - I can't hear him unless he REALLY wants me. As a result, I got a 4 hour uninterrupted stretch last night.

I shall not be winning any mother of the year awards, I do realise this.

However, must be doing something right, last night DS1 ate spicy fajitas like a star, can count to 20, says his P's and Q's and knows his alphabet. Not backwards, but then neither do I

RIAlityBites · 25/08/2009 09:35

sounds fine to me fury.

you must do "go to bloody bed" through gritted tetth though

'tis a miracle. I just have to have a bath (and try to make hair look less black) and we'll be off. so long as baggins doesn't decide to have a shower under the water butt, and DS2 finds his other trainer.

Happy days!

MakkaPakkasWilly · 25/08/2009 13:39

I WON!

Check ME out on Winners Corner!
Now I have to pursuade DH to let me go.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 25/08/2009 13:55

oh blimey busy day

I made a load of ice cream, get back to PC and find I win a competition and got my email about my new role as a website editor for a parenting club!

I am going to be busy....

LittleMissNorty · 25/08/2009 14:28

Oh well done on the win!

Good news about sleep as well....we moved DS to his own room a lot earlier than DD as I couldn't stand it any longer.

What sort of ice cream did you make? We had home-made strawberry ice-cream last night....I love my ice-cream maker.

Show me Show me was all on grandad's today . It so my two don't have any grandads.....its the anniversary of my dad passing tomorrow and I'm dreading it.

Hope DD is a bit better today Jammy?

MakkaPakkasWilly · 25/08/2009 14:33

Norty I made strawberry!
2 eggs
double cream
sugar
milk
punnet strawbs

YUMMMMMM

Thank you Ben and Jerry's recipe book!

Norty I sort of know what you mean... my father is estranged from his family since I was about 10 and my mum is estranged from her family since last year. As far as we are concerned my family stops at my parents. I never really knew my grandparents.

LittleMissNorty · 25/08/2009 14:46

that's exactly how I make my strawberry as well but put in less sugar than my recipe says, less milk and more double cream! I also put the strwberries in whole and are 40 minutes churning, they are perfect size pieces!

I knew and loved my grandparents.....one of the drawbacks of having children later in life I suppose

LackaDAISYcal · 25/08/2009 21:54

ooooooh, quiet!

LackaDAISYcal · 25/08/2009 23:16

where is everyone?

too late for Ria, but I got the trousers today and they are lurvely, ta muchly

took part in a focus group this evening for a marketing company.....just over an hour of chatting about baby products and got paid £50 for my troubles.....sweet. Now they have my details, I hope that more of them come my way!

bottom issues still ongoing here , but the stool sample was apparently OK. Have resorted to immodium as I daren't leave the house for fear of a nasty accident . I am going to have to go through the indignities of "further investigations" again, I can just tell, and I'm shit scared (boom boom) that I have done irreprable damage to my gut by playing fast and loose with banned substances (ie gluten) over recent months. Hopefully though it's just a case of probably not very healthy gut having taken a bit more of a battering with this bug, and that it'll sort itself in time. I'm being scrupulous on the gluten thing though.

I am knackered

laundry - check
showered - check
make up done - check
bottles washed and in steriliser - check
loaf in breadmaker - check
stuff for dinner prepared - check
baby fed and settled - check
emails sent off to chairman to organise new volunteer job - check
cup of tea made - check

ready to pass out - check

The ice cream I made was nice, but too chunky. need to chop strawbs up a bit smaller next time.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 26/08/2009 08:36

Daisy I forgot about your intolerance, that would certainly not have helped your 'bottom issues'

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/08/2009 09:11

You take it easy for the rest of the day week Fury, do you hear!?

LackaDAISYcal · 26/08/2009 10:49

bloody hell fury; I'm exhausted just reading that!!

well the immodium seems to have done the trick and halted things somewhat! Fingers crossed that'll be the end of it.

I am feeling a little bit AAARRRRGGGHHHHH this morning. DS1 decided he was too tired for swimming and did his level best to delay leaving the house with the result we were late and rushing. Ditto getting changed afterwards, and bumble wanted a feed in the changing rooms and it all got a bit horrible. I am torn between not letting him go to his friends today as punishment for his arsiness and sending him off out with a cheery wave as at least he will be out from under my feet. The PS2 is banned because of his shoving DD out of his room last night (for bugging him and his mate) and then shutting her fingers in the door so hard that she was bleeding.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 26/08/2009 10:55

Just seen HV.

DS2 is now 10.5lbs.
Holy crap.

he was 8.3lbs when he was born 3 weeks ago.

MakkaPakkasWilly · 26/08/2009 15:33

I kill threads.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/08/2009 16:05

No you don't Fury. I've just been too busy playing with jamlet. We have played with bricks, Duplo, the fire engine, the space rocket, done jigsaws, colouring, read a story, pushed the dolls in the pushchair and played with the toy kitchen!

Finally feel she is getting somewhere with her speech. She's still not saying much but there are some more words, and if you ask what a dog says she says "foof foof"

LackaDAISYcal · 26/08/2009 17:04

I have spent all fecking day trying to back up my phone to my PC so I can send it away for repair so have only had FB open. I finally had to resort to copying down all the numbers using old fashioned means which was no mean feat considering I can only see half the screen and it kept compressing the full screen into the half I can see and reversing it so I was reading all the numbers backwards!!

I hope they repair it for me OK. It has had a glitch on the screen intermittently since I got it, but the recent dousing in water has, I suspect, made it worse.

DS2 sounds very pukey today fury. Does he have reflux?
