Evening ladies, I'm glad your first day back went well Loulou. on behalf of your ds though.

MM- My friend went through a very bitter divorce recently and was adamant that she didn't want anything at all....except the mini!

I've got two weddings to go to next month and really need to get something to wear. Does anyone know when Monsoon normally have their summer sale?

Well, I'm going to keep this brief. I'm all ready for bed. I've just started trying the oil cleansing method. My skin feel lovely and soft!

Marthasmama · 15/06/2009 21:52

I think, and don't hold me to this, that it is early July. The staff in my most local Monsoon used to know me and would even put things aside for me in my size when the sale was on. DH used to despair of me. I might have to try the oil cleansing thingy as my skin is very dry.

aubergenie · 15/06/2009 22:00

OOh MM, I just remembered something I was going to ask you. You use mineral suncream, don't you? Can you tell me whether you've found one that doesn't leave your skin with a thick white layer on it. I have to wear a high factor sunscreen, and the last 2 I've bought have given me an awful ghostly glow. Someone told me that the mineral ones are better.

Marthasmama · 15/06/2009 22:11

I have tried Simple first as it is so much easier to get hold of. The baby one is factor 50 and rubs in really well. I use it too as my skin is shit in the sun. It hasn't caused M any problems but I haven't been in the sun much, so I haven't had an opportunity to test whether the chemicals are going to bugger up my skin. I always thought that mineral screens were worse for causing the ghost effect This article is interesting......

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/06/2009 22:14

I use Simple or Neutrogena (which is v hard to get hold of) too.

Where is Pepper?

Loulou - How rude of me. I wasn't ignoring you..... Poor ds, boys are so sensitive aren't they? Glad your first day back was ok. Are you working full time?

DS came home from school sobbing his heart out because of this. He was back to his annoying usual self this evening.

ronshar · 15/06/2009 22:31

Just saying a quick hello. MIL staying so having to pretend I am a good wife & mother. It is really taking it out of me I can tell you.
Shall try and read back. See you in a few days

Ekka · 15/06/2009 23:11

CSWS, great news about your dh's job. And I'm glad that D had a good nap during the day.

Star, bless, its great when they start to crawl. I can't wait till Matthew gets moving properly forwards!

Loulou, your poor ds, that's an awful thing to happen, I'm not surprised he was upset. Glad your first day back went ok, but 1000 emails , that's horrendous!

HMM, sorry to hear about your rough day, but its good news about the dairy! I am a just little jealous.

MM, ouch for your ds.... Its making me wince just thinking about it!

I'm in the throes of packing as we're off to Canada on Thursday and I'm always really paranoid about packing and getting everything ready. I've also had to update my MIL on the whole dairy free/egg free diet. She isn't used to reading through all the ingredients etc and is not sure about all the different names that milk can go under, so it could be interesting! She is being great about it though.

Matthew's skin is looking brilliant now, it almost looks normal, though if he gets hot he does still get red itchy patches. He isn't quite crawling yet, but can manage to move forward slowly, but sort of jumping his back legs forward then flopping down on his arms , he is also starting to get more hair - its really, really blonde.

Honeymoonmummy · 15/06/2009 23:12

MM you could well be right re the PMT. Aww I hope DS is OK.

Thanks for the link CSWS but both just took me to the homepage so I couldn't see your selection. I'll look at this website.

Honeymoonmummy · 15/06/2009 23:13

Oh and thanks for the bump MM.

Marthasmama · 15/06/2009 23:15

Ekka - That's great news about M's skin! Must be such a relief for you. I think the incident hurt DH more than ds. Poor dh felt sick for ages about it!

Forgot to add.....M found a novel way of getting around today. She just rolled and rolled all the way across the front room to get to her mummy.

Honeymoonmummy · 15/06/2009 23:22

Awww. I forgot to say, Poppy let me hug her today without pushing me away for a whole 10 seconds today. First time

Honeymoonmummy · 15/06/2009 23:23

Laptop battery about to die anyway so I'm going to bed. Night all!

I really don't like these 5.30 starts, esp when it's so obviously just because he couldn't resettle for his final 1hr 10min sleep cycle.

Will reply to others when on mac rather than phone.

i've been about... but mainly reading... being at work no obstacle (probably makes it easier, in fact!!)

I have taken aubergenie's tip and am going to try the oil cleansing thingy... sounds rather good.

Also have a sweet story... DH has been away for the last week and got home yesterday morning. He picked emma up from nursery after work and was rather dismayed not to get big smiles like he usually does.... but it turns out that someone who looks like him had turned up earlier and got a great reception from emma only to take another baby home. She apparently got very upset at that (which makes me ) so obviously was bit when DH turned up... probably wondering which of the other babies he was goiong to take this time!!

myjob, she was 9 months yesterday... its scary how fast time has gone, isn't it!! just think, in three months it'll be their birthdays!!

no crawling here either, but she does demand to be walked round the living room constantly!

KSal · 16/06/2009 14:11

yep, i hold her hands... its all she wants to do and is quite knackering!! if i sit her down she bounces up and down with her hands out wanting to be picked up, she can get quite irate about it!!

she has the strength, but not the balance. She hasn't tried to pull herself up on anything else yet tho... i pull her up by the hands to standing and i don't need to pull much, she has strong legs!!

if i put her on her front she pivot and shuffles backwards, so everything she wants to reach gets further away!

KSal · 16/06/2009 14:34

i've just realised emma is 9 months today and it isn't actually wednesday as i thought earlier.. doh!

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/06/2009 15:07

Oh that's very sweet re Emma at nursery KSal!

Ds suffering with his teeth yest/today, poor mite. Hopefully he'll actually get one through very soon. He just woke from his nap after only 40 mins (despite me putting on teething gel before he went down), but resettled after 12 mins of low moaning. We got him up after 40 mins when he woke yesterday and he was in a Bad Mood and still tired, so not making that mistake again today!
