Just back in from a day in the sun.

I had just lit a BBQ and the nosey neighbour from nextdoor ran into her garden and removed all her washing and grumbling about this not being a BBQ kind of neighbourhood So I ignored her and when Dh came home very loudly stated that now the weather is fine we really should BBQ most nights. We went to our first sing and sign class today the teacher was very uninspiring so I think this won't be a long term project. Swimming was good I think the break has done DD the world of good and she swam fantastically only crying after her first dunking. Potatoes planted, courgette plants re-potted, butternut seeds planted and DD with her daddy after eating a bowl of risotto, a big yogurt and 1/2 a plum.

Steaky - Will catch up on your day properly in a bit then comment fully but {{{hugs}}} in the meantime.

Sazzles - hopefully DD's new creams and lotions will help. We have diprobase for DD which is prescribed by the HV which seems to be her only good use!

VG - Nice to see you again.

yelling baby and dissapearing DH there must be a poo about!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 21/04/2009 18:56

Thanks

What mardy neighbours you have oops.
Glad the swim went better today, shame about the sing and sign. Didnt sambo mention starting her first class of that the other day, wonder how she found it.
lol at poo being somewhere.

Both dcs bathed and in the land of slumber, both snoring.
Now must fetch washing in and tidy.
I so wish there were hidy places in this house sometimes.

pertelote · 21/04/2009 19:23

Hi all, we have also enjoyed the sunshine today, had lunch in the garden anyway...

Think DD has top teeth coming through, she's so dribbly and grumpy. Feel bad for DH, as so often he took her at 6am so I could have a couple more hours' sleep, fantastic, but now she hasn't slept this pm so I'm as cross and tired as if he hadn't bothered!

Poppy can I chime in belatedly and agree how lovely your girls are?! And clicking your profile reminded me that you are in St Andrews where we are going for a wedding in August (so Dizzy are you near there too? Sorry geography is shocking ) I'm just starting to look for a hotel, looks as though there are lots - would you happen to have a recommendation? I know one doesn't always know about hotels in one's home town of course...

Steak so sorry the Dr wasn't more helpful. And DH really ought to know that you need him to translate verbatim - he's not the expert

dizzydixies · 21/04/2009 19:23

lordy you lot can talk

work continuing in to tomorrow so still chaotic here - poppy was only a shower here too so no damage thank goodness as I doubt my PIL's goodwill will extend to a new suite!!

Dylan not slept great the past 2 nights so am pretty pooped as well and DH starts back on shift tomorrow, time off flies by when you're havingfun knee deep in home alterations

I can't even begin to hidy at the moment as there is stuff everywhere this had better be sodding worth it!

sorry to be so me me me everyone missing the patter

Oops Don't you live on an estate of family-sized houses? In which case it should be BBQ city. Does she have grown up kids by any chance?

I've got another pub night out tomorrow with the NCT comittee woohoo, friend is driving me too, even bigger woohoo .

PetitFilou1 · 21/04/2009 20:20

Thanks for your thoughts ladies

Am definitely not myself and basically need to go back to work (but not from home - but have no choice about it.)

Toby on 25th centile, weighs about 17.5 lbs so I wasn't far off when I weighed him with me. I'm pretty sure ds1 was 25th centile for a while too so I think I'm with you poppy I just don't do big babies. ds1 is 50th now and quite muscly when naked! (well for a 5 year old) so I'm sure Toby will turn out fine too.

HV coming over tomorrow but I don't suppose she'll be much use. I think I put the wind up her with some of the things I was saying. I know I'm mildly depressed but I am not about to top myself or anything. steaky I was always under the impression that you could take ADs when bf. I have always resisted them but maybe now is the time.

Anyway a friend has said she will come over and visit this evening so will be off for a while.

sazzles Glad dd1's derm appt went well.

no1 Why not try naked barbecuing - right up your street I'd have thought See still have my sense of humour there somewhere

You had me LOL there no1 with your links. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Good luck with the HV tomorrow pf. The fact that you know you're struggling is surely a good sign, as is your sense of humour. You do realise you'll never live down your naked run oops .

Typical isn't it sazzles that DD1's skin is fine as soon as the appointment comes around. I must admit to allowing my skin to get to its worst before I have an appointment, so they know the worst they're dealing with. More difficult with putting your child through it though. Glad it's not too bad at the moment though.

Looking forward to catching up tomorrow dizzy.

Back in a minute to ponder your accommodation question pertelote....

poppysocks · 21/04/2009 21:06

Oooh, does this mean we have the beginnings of a NE Fife meet-up pertelote? When are you coming (please don't let it be the end of the month as I'll be away ). If it's the weekend of the girls' b'day though, we'll be having a wee party that you're welcome to join in.

So... accommodation...Can't really comment on the hotels as don't have any recent experience of them. There are some great B&Bs though. My Mum stayed here last weekend and it was great. My friend stayed here and said it was absolutely amazing. Give me a shout if neither are up your street or full and I'll see what else I can come up with. I would book soon though as it's prime time with tourists, golfers and university re-takes.

Where's the wedding? That might help me to suggest somewhere else to stay.

If you'd like a babysitter while you're at the wedding, just shout .

LoveBuckets · 21/04/2009 21:33

OMG I have just had tears running down my face with laughter watching the climax of Little Miss Sunshine!!! Such a funny movie, haven't laughed that hard in yonks, I recommend it to anyone feeling down at the mo.

TwilightSurfer · 21/04/2009 21:33

Popping on while laptoping in the girls room.

No1 Disney Cruises!!

Now off to catch up further.

TwilightSurfer · 21/04/2009 22:02

Sazzles I stopped by the other thread and posted.

Oops so does that mean we are all meeting at your place for a BBQ this weekend?

This is all my brain can dump at the moment BECAUSE DD1 WILL NOT STOP TALKING TO ME. Is it just me or is it a complete mental drain to attempt anything with a 5 year within earshot. SHE KEEPS NEEDING THINGS. Mommy this. Mommy that. WHY CAN'T SHE JUST PLAY!!!!!!!!!!

Crap now Reese has escaped and is heading I'M SURE for the plants in the living room.

pertelote · 21/04/2009 22:10

Brilliant Poppy thank you! I've emailed the first one, we shall see... Luckily DD is also invited to the wedding, but it would be great to see you if there's a chance - it's 1st Aug, we will hopefully be in town friday and saturday nights though prob not any longer than that. Maybe Sunday morning if you're around?

Must put laptop down and get some sleep, night all.

TwilightSurfer · 21/04/2009 22:45

Sazzles how is it that they think DD1's check thing is fungal? I'm no doctor so just asking from my layman's seat. BUT Wouldn't that flair up and continue to flair up until treated. Her skin flairs up then it goes away then it flairs up again. Also if it were fungal wouldn't a skin scrapping sent off to be tested prove that theory? Good call by the doc to take her off the topical antibotics. Maybe you should just come back to the states sincse she seemed very good while here.

Just made the call to DH "COME HOME NOW! I NEED A BREAK!!" He's on his way with taco makings. I heard him chuckling in the background though. He probably was having trouble hearing me over TWO SCREAMING CHILDREN.

I'm sure I'll be back shortly.........

Hope you get a positive reply pertelote. If you have time it would be great to meet you and the lovely M. Are you around then too dizzy?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 21/04/2009 22:49

Well both my dcs woke up at 9.30 both at exactly the same time
DD crying holding her ear, which she has done a couple of times over the weekend but never cried or complained more than once. She was crying this time though.
Ds was crying sounds very croaky and throat sounds raw iykwim.
Was just thinking yesterday he has had no chest crackle or snot while we were away and now its back

TwilightSurfer · 21/04/2009 22:57

VG from the read of it you had quite a rustic trip. I don't remember the link or if you provided it but it sounds like our definitions of tent differ. I'm thinking the big pop up kind like Buckets posted at one point. Sounds like you stayed in a palace by comparison. Love the Honest Shop. I'd have been in there a lot too. Did you do any farm work?

OP posts:
TwilightSurfer · 21/04/2009 22:58

No1 both mine do the hold ear bit but doesn't always mean the worst. Happens mostly when they get a stuffy head. The ears get stuffy too. Once the stuffiness passes the ears are fine.

I hope for you that's the case.

evening all, i've got a v overtired DS feeding at the moment. DP tired too so he's gone to bed

poppysocks · 21/04/2009 23:24

These are the tents of which VG speaks TS. We're off there too in a few weeks. Can't wait!

TwilightSurfer · 21/04/2009 23:40

That's exactly what I pictured per her description. Good Job VG!! Thanks Poppy. I don't have a clue what I would call that other than a tent, I guess.

Ladies I just found this site. You can fill in your measurements and it will show you clothes that work best for your body type. NOTE: It didn't get my shape correct the first time because I DO NOT know how to measure properly.

the lovely albs and I are going shopping today

thanks for the link ts, i'm off to investigate now!

poppysocks · 22/04/2009 08:36

Dizzy - having trouble getting a text through to you for some reason.... Do you want to head over here since the weather's nice. We can go for the ducks/swings option and stay for a spot of lunch?

oopsacoconut · 22/04/2009 08:39

Hi all

DD slept but we were woken early by a phone call from my mum to say Dad has been taken in to hospital with a major haemmorage (sp?)and is being kept in until he can have a gastroscopy. He has been under the weather recently and the GP told him it was just a little bleed from an irritated ulcer but now they are not sure. I can't go and see him as I can't leave DD and she isn't allowed in. Mum is in with him and will keep us updated.

DD and I are off to get shopping for our trip and trying to keep my mind occupied until I hear from them again.

Will catch up on last nights shenanigans and be back later.
