oopsacoconut · 17/04/2009 17:30

Dizzy - have some fresh from the oven Double dark choccie brownies, soft chewey flapjacks and a large bottle of the beer of your choice!

oopsacoconut · 17/04/2009 17:30

For £400 was he going to take DH and the girls too?

dizzydixies · 17/04/2009 17:56

oops I asked him to come in and price up the living room as frankly I don't have the energy or the time - £400 I nearly died - that was with us suppling the wallpaper/paint/varnish

he explained that it was because it was a 2 day job and he could do other stuff as well for the same price SO I called his bluff and pointed out our hideous tongue and groove lilac effort that runs the double height of the house that hasn't been touched in years, really hard to get to bit above the stairs (also not touched and banister

he has dutifully agreed to that within the price and I'm now going to have to sell a kidney on ebay over the weekend [meep]

thank you for the cake and beer though

lol, this thread is comedy gold today

Me and Joe have just been having a shouting competition He has been cracking me up this week!

oopsacoconut · 17/04/2009 18:20

stupid F**King work I am starting to believe they are people from hell with no idea what it means to want to spend time with your children!

I just got a call telling me they want to see me next week and want a decision in writing from me about return to work dates. I have told them they can have an answer when I am due to give it. I would gladly have told them the answer ages ago had they not decided to harrass me and be mean about how I was traumatising their kids and it wasn't fair of me to put myself first

I know what I am going to do but I really need to need the cash I will get from my leave which is oweing to me. They have said I don't get the cash if I don't come back but I an sure I am entitled to it - I have said I will my leave at the end of the ML period and still give them more than 4 weeks notice - so 2 weeks before ML due to end I will give notice and take 3 weeks leave thus giving them 5 weeks in total. or give them notice as I am supposed to and then be paid out the 3 weeks.

I'm off to stand in the rain to cool my brain.

dizzydixies · 17/04/2009 19:15

oops am not sure of the legalities of it all but I believed by law they have to let you extend your matty leave using any annual leave you've accrued during your time off - if this ISN'T the case please don't tell my work.

I do however have a sketchy understanding that if you don't return to work after a period of matty leave you would be due to pay them back some of your matty pay - that is possibly why they are saying you're not entitled to it just giving them the benefit of the doubt here though and playing Swiss diplomat

there is a poster on MN called flowerybeanbag who is an absolute whizz in all things employment related and I'm sure if you started a thread in employment/legal there would be those who could arm you with enough ammo to trounce them

feckers they shouldn't be harrassing you at all though

Steaknife · 17/04/2009 19:38

oops and HP feckers fecker feckers to both of your employers who smell of poo and are mean to you.

Yes Steaky finally got to swig some cold beer. And just so you don't all think the Mansteak is 100% horrid. He did the shopping, brought it all in and put it away, tidied up the living room and brought up the pram from the garage (cos racoons might sleep in it ) and has gone to get pizza.
He also brought me a gift - betcha can't guess what it is...

Pizza here so will leave you to wonder/

oopsacoconut · 17/04/2009 20:05

Dizzy - I don't have to pay back any matty pay as I'm only getting the bare basics - they actually get money from the Gov. to pay me SMP Will give flowery a yell later.

Steaky did he bring you ......... bottle for DD, cheeses, a bucket for washing the floor?

I wish to apologise for my outburst earlier Dh wasn't home and I needed to yell then He came home so I didn't get on to apologise for my ranty pants

PetitFilou1 · 17/04/2009 20:10

Hello all
Had a manic Easter and a major meltdown last week (main cause being dh revising all the time when rare occasion of gps taking the older dcs happened - and I was still on my fecking tod even though they were away and we were meant to be spending time together - he is now on the way home having taken the sodding exam at last ;-) ) Normal Status Resumed now but boy does he know he f*cked up this time. And yes I was being unreasonable but he shouldn't have booked an exam in the Easter holidays or taken the 'us' time to revise. Anyway I feel better now. Been away for a week what with seeing my mum in Suffolk and fil and had a lovely time at my mums. I heart Suffolk - the children love the beach and fish and chips on the beach etc etc

Toby has a bit of a suntan and his hair is a bit bleached (bad mother emoticon) but he looks very sweet

dizzy As resident FISG do I try and buy a dress for my sister's wedding in August now or later? I saw that Coast coat dress and coveted it but am not sure it will be ok with my belly. sazzles opinion please as you've seen me lately. I feel utterly shite about my figure atm as tried stuff on briefly when got the chance this week in JL and when I stop bf my belly will def be bigger than my boobs. Aargh.

Managed to feed whole family the same meal tonight so that's a bonus: tomato sauce made with two cloves garlic, tin of tomatoes, ev oil, pureed with half fat creme fraiche and mixed with tuna (dd hates tuna but had hers with meatballs instead) It is RARE in our house that I achieve this so feeling good about that at least.

Anyway, wittering on, sorry. dh home soon but will be back reading more when I get the chance.

PetitFilou1 · 17/04/2009 20:13

oops I am using my leave accrued during my mat leave to extend the time I'm off - it is allowed to do that. Although it does leave you in a bit of pickle if your lo goes to nursery and gets all the bugs under the sun (as mine will) and then you still can't really go back to work for a month as you keep having to stay at home......but yes it is def allowed.

Miamla · 17/04/2009 20:37

la la laaaa la la laaaa I can't hear you all talking about mat leave ending la la laaaa

oopsacoconut · 17/04/2009 20:42

That's what I was doing Miamla - I had just got over the episode at christmas without breaking into a rash when someone mentioned work and boss and me in the same sentance.

sambo303 · 17/04/2009 20:43

oops I have requested 4 weeks unpaid parental leave on the end of my ML. Hope it gets agreed. Have you got something like that in your co policies? Then you can keep your hols
