treedelivery · 05/05/2009 22:04

Oh and Dog I'm coming your way. I'm coming! Be ace to meet a real life cyber person!

oh am so excited. Oh Oh Oh.

treedelivery · 05/05/2009 22:51

Bad night to be my Harriet. The colic monster is giving her a big shake. Poor poor mite. She is being carried up and down the stairs by dh. I seem to make her worse, smelling the milk she can't drink for belly ache

All my time off with her is slipping away in this terrible way. When will it go?

stripeywoollenhat · 05/05/2009 22:54

evening all. sorry to hear abouut periods (oh tink, what a drag), jealous of camper vannery. moose, sorry about downness, hope it passes soon

bit miserable here today - c wakeful and grumpy (she's developed a serious holler in the last week) and dp has done her back in. eight people coming to lunch tomorrow and suddenly it's probably me who is going to have to cook. this is NOT GOOD, i am a moron in the kitchen...

does anybody else who is bfing have days when they really, really want to switch to formula? i know it's good for the small girl, but it's taking her ages to fill up at the moment and i feel kind of inadequate, and i miss my libido, and my nipples are sore

i should stop complaining, shouldn't i? tomorrow will be a better day.

apart from the cooking...

Stripey - I absolutely have days like those. If was ff i'd probably want to stop sterilising or something. It's being knackered that makes us add up all the little things [or not so little] into a big 'this is toooooo much'

Tomorrow will be easier. Sore nips bad, is it wear and tear? Poor you

Will be about for virtual group hugs if it isn't though.

Dh has settled dd in her little drawer thing and will have t sleep else where. She has belched and passed out. So like her daddy!

Have held her since 5 am. Phew!

LenniEd · 05/05/2009 23:06

Yes Stripey I do - I even cyberwandered into the formula aisle when doing my tesco online shop this week. Just keep reminding myself that it's good for me and him. And before long he'll be 6mo and I'll be able to tick that box that I couldn't tick with DD.

MissJ - I am kind of on the way to Scotland. Me and Tree could meet you maybe - could we Tree?? And Elk said she was due a trip up north in the summer... a northern meet-up...?

treedelivery · 05/05/2009 23:08

If anyone in the north meets up without me I shall cry .

I am so there.

stripeywoollenhat · 05/05/2009 23:12

just a bit of over-use - she's been a bottomless pit these last two days, and while i think the nips are well on the way to leathery they are not quite there yet... yeah, i'm sure measuring and mixing would be a hideous imposition some days, if i were formula feeding. some days you just want off for an hour or two, i guess.

amazing how pleased a spot of eructation/flatulence can make you when you're a mum, eh? v pleased to hear that h has gone to sleep. expect i should do the same, try and get an hour or so before c decides she's hungry again...

a better day all round tomorrow, i insist

i tried to catch up but eyes are heavy. we now have DD in crib for afternoon and night nap and now we are putting her in after midnight feed but we can't be in the room till she settles down. ok for DH as he is usually up now but my eyes are little slits. but yeah anyhow.

she is sitting up and standing but still refuse to roll over. she's got a week before our next dr. appointment so she better get on it. she is also chatting up a storm. i can leave to her self on the floor with a couple of toys and she chats off a storm. very cute. and her first tooth has finally cut through the bottom. she's been teething for about month.

we are hoping for nice weather tomorrow as we must get the garden in. just growing lettuces and some herbs but still very excited that uncle gord is letting me do some landscaping. when i get it all done i'll post some pictures on the facebook group page.

speaking of which... any new bubs pictures ladies?

fymmumoftwo · 06/05/2009 10:01

Hello folks.

Might get an hour - wish me luck!

elkiedee · 06/05/2009 10:27

Moose, sorry to hear you're feeling down. Please come out and talk about it if it helps, or just to reminisce about camper vans.

Hi all.

Not time to read all.

Hope OK Moose!!!

Chef Took picture of Esme on phone this morning. Will upload to FB shortly!!

Tree Hope you get some sleep. Hope you don't mind me asking, but Will H only sleep/settle on you and OH? As if she would settle on someone else, maybe you could try & inlist the help of another relative or Close friend? Am feeling for you massively after Esme's 3 night party - i was WIPED out! If you could get an extra nap here & there it would do you and H the WORLD of good!!! your only Human and being a wonderful mummy to her! But even Mummys need ME time! ... Hope you don't mind me saying!

Had Esme weighed this morning. is 15 weeks Fri & Now weighs 13 lb 9. Was born onto 25th Centile. But now happily Trotting up the 50th!

elkiedee · 06/05/2009 12:53

Stripey, I'm finding the feeding quite exhausting these last few days/nights. I don't want to switch to formula because it would be much worse to have to get up when he's hungry, at least I don't have to do that this time. I'm not intending to give formula again until I have to go back to work (probably the start of November), and then I hope to be able to maintain mix feeding and bf morning/evening and when I'm there.

I know some people would kill for 4 hours together at night but he's been feeding sooo much during the day as well, and my 4 hours of sleep were at a time which meant I couldn't get any more by going back to sleep again - he woke up at 5.30. I know we should go to sleep earlier but by the time ds1 is settled there's really not much time.

Our fridge has stopped working and I'm waititng for delivery of the replacement. That means that we had to clear out the fridge/freezer last night, delivery is due 12-6 so I potentially have to wait for it for over 5 hours - I hate waiting for delivery. I also probably have to rearrange an appointment for his jabs - I was hoping dp, my dad or the guy doing some work on our house would be able to take delivery but only my dad can make it and only from 4 - need to set out before 3 to be on time for appt then could be kept waiting, need to comfort feed afterwards etc etc.

Post office has refused to deliver one of ds1's birthday cards (post office card is addressed to him) because of "not enough postage" - believe shortfall is all of 8p. They're charging me £1.08 to get it redelivered - I must have been in the bath when the card arrived through the door. I've made a point of paying it online by credit card and they'll redeliver some time in the next few days. They're being petty, I can too. What a waste of time, and a service which can only get worse.

elkiedee · 06/05/2009 13:06

Well done on the weight gain Ray.

Is anyone else's baby chattering? I can't quite remember what DS1 did at C's age, but after his bedtime feed I put C in his basket last night, and he was quite happy but wide awake and making lots of very loud baby noises. It was funny but I so wanted to go to sleep. And I'm hoping current feeding behaviour means a growth spurt, at least then I'll feel there's some point in the feeding.

4 hours and 57 minutes for delivery slot.

rrrayray · 06/05/2009 13:22

Elkidee- i had that with one of my birthday cards. it should have had a large stamp... the shortfall was 2p... but yet even though i picked it up from the delivery office i was charged £1 something. Handling fee or something! It really is a joke isn't it?

Esme chatters away to herself in the daytime, but not really in the evening. After her 6.30pm feed i usually put her down about 6.50pm and she makes a RACKET sucking her thumb until she's asleep!!!

Elk/Stripey- I totally understand you ladies feeling frustrated with BF at the moment. Esme's JUST finished her growth spurt (my was i glad to see the back of it!) but when i was shopping on sunday for a few bits i even BOUGHT one carton of Formula. of Course i never used it... but trust me you NOT alone in feeling like that. i think i had a moment of thinking

1- that my milk wasn't satisfying her & formula would be better for her.
2- Then OH could get up at the uncivilised hours!

The Carton Went in the bin about 30 mins after i got home (unopened i'd like to state! )

tink Enjoy quiet day

missj hope your packing is going well. you BRAVE (or maybe slightly bonkers! ) Woman moving with a young baby!

Esme has been cutting right back on her lunchtime naps recently... but today seems to want the whole hog? Hmmm. Maybe having done the 3 days of Feeding LOTs shes now going to do a couple of being rather sleepy?

rrrayray · 06/05/2009 13:22

ps, added some Esme pics to FB group! So many new ones since i last looked... all getting so big & cute!

elkiedee · 06/05/2009 13:51

Just as I was sending that last post they rang to say they were nearby, and I had a last session of trying to pretend I'd got the fridge freezer ready to take away - we couldn't actually pull it out enough to switch off/disconnect and defrost properly.

I did have to press them to take the packaging off and partially push it back into its space, they were going to leave it looking a little precarious in the middle of our tiny kitchen (not a good idea with an excited toddler around, and the kitchen being the way to the back garden).

Aaaarrrrrgh.

tinkishappy · 06/05/2009 14:34

Dog So sorry for not replying about Ear Buddies. i DID look at the link simply totally forgot to reply. I haven't seen LO's Ears to know if they really ARE going to be a bother in time to come. But... My instinct is that if LO had a problem, i would DEFINATELY go for it. Especially as according to the chart on there, its only a few weeks to correct them, as they are still so young! So, go for it.
