Oh hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy for you . I can unclench my muscles now, was really tensed up logging on to find out the news! So what's your due date?

cazzybabs · 11/08/2009 11:22

Arcadie - I am so happy for you

We had fun and games on Thurs - heavy heavy rain...started leaking in through our bloody bedroom light (drip drip drip at 3 in the morning)...couldn't sleep so dh decided to see if he could see the hole in the roof where it was coming in so up into the loft he goes...suddenly I hear some swearing, dh descending rapidly from ladder. I think oh gosh the roof is falling in..anyway turns out we have some wasps who thought 3am was not a good time to be up...anyway wasps have been dealt with but we need a wait a few days before we can go up andlook at the carnage (and the hole)

becklespeckle · 11/08/2009 14:22

Hi all! Returned from fab holiday in Scotland (pics on FB v soon for anyone wanting a nose, got to sort through them though as took over 700 !), we had beautiful weather the whole time apart from yesterday when we had planned a day long break from the journey in Whitby - it was raining so hard we came home early in the end! DD was soooo good the whole time bless her, no so the DSs who fought and wrestled and shouted through a good deal of it - sigh.

Congrats Arcadie! very very pleased all is well!

Cazzy at your wasps! Eek! Clearing of the carnage would definitely be a job for DH here - I'm too squeamish!

Hi to everyone else, hope you're all okay!

becklespeckle · 11/08/2009 14:23

not so the DSs....

insywinsyspider · 11/08/2009 21:37

arcadie huge congrats!! due date?

Arcadie · 12/08/2009 08:34

Thanks. They still disagree with my assessment of the dates so we're somewhere between 17th and 24th March. Because they reckoned me to be less than 8 weeks, the York policy is to still offer a dating scan.

Sonog lady: Sorry but I'm afraid you'll have to come back in a few weeks and do it all again.

Arcadie ( who was only given a 20 wk scan with DS and nearly went out of her mind until 20 weeks): You want to take MORE photos of my baby? Oooooh OK

arcadie [gri n]

that is FANTASTIC news - didn't I TELL you I knew it was going to be OK? Can I turn this into a 'I was right I was right I was right'?!

cazzy -eek at the wasps - that house of yours is always causing you problems, isn't it?

insy - good to hear form you and glad you are coping with three OK. Hope that continues with the older two at home all the time!

clairey - how is DS? Has his temp gone down? Well done with the BF - has he had any more feeds since?

Just back from hols in North Berwick - sandacastles on the beach, paddling and looking for dead crabs - beach holidays have to be the absolute best with young DC (although maybe not in Scotland, brrrr)

Happy belated bday clara

welcome home beckle

Of to look at arcadies's and beckle's snaps on fb... (oh yes and to do some work...)

Arcadie · 12/08/2009 13:04

aw shucks - thanks Skid. Yes you are the queen of right. All hail you.

Glad Berwick good - we LOVED our day trip there.

OP posts:
becklespeckle · 12/08/2009 15:34

Skid, your holiday sounds fab! My DSs love hunting for dead crabs too...in fact I'm sure I have pictures with their 'findings'! Anyway, beach time in Scotland can still be fun (and warm!), it was so lovely on Orkney we all got a bit tanned (or in DH's case, burned)! FB has changed its uploading system though (grr) so am still struggling in the process of putting the photos up!

becklespeckle · 12/08/2009 17:58

Photos up!

Arcadie · 12/08/2009 19:42

Beckle beautiful beautiful photos. Some observations:

a) Your DD is never the same age as my DD She looks about a year more grown up.

b) You have LOVELY DSs

c) Your DH's nose looks like you had some good weather. Hurrah.

d) How do you look so damn good and young and lithe and full of energy with that many kids? Hey? MMMMMMM??

OP posts:
claireybee · 13/08/2009 12:25

Beckle lovely pics Evie is tall isn't she?

Skid you are right about beach holidays, I really don't appreciate the beach enough living here, before we moved here I thought I'd be down there everyday but I hardly ever go and it's a shame because the dc love it when we do go. (I think I'd go more if we lived by a less touristy beach though, I hate all the donkey rides, trampolines, stands selling plastic tat etc).

DS hasn't had any more bf's but he still sticks his hand down my top all day and tries to fiddle with me. Am hoping he'll stop that soon! My boobs are so painful too, haven't had any engorgement but they just really hurt, especially if one of the dc presses againt them.

Cazzy hope you get the wasp/leak situation sorted soon!

cazzybabs · 13/08/2009 12:29

oh beckle i am clearly not fb friends with you ... as i can't see your photos

becklespeckle · 13/08/2009 13:41

Arcadie, in response...
a) I think Evie is probably younger as she was very late and is actually a January baby, I often get people saying she looks older than her 19 months though, it was the same with the DSs when they were small.
b) Thank you, I think so too! Mind you, your DCs are totally gorgeous too!
c) Haha! DH's nose is a very good indicator of the weather, it was really hot - quite unusual for Orkney! It is now peeling well as the stupid man he refused to wear suncream.
d) camera angles? Certainly don't feel like any of those things! (Although I did get ID'd buying alcohol while away, haven't carried any for years so the sale was refused - very embarrassing but good for the ego!)

Clairey, yes DD is tall, the DSs are too. They get it from DH who is 6'7" although most of the men in my family are around 6' too, only the women are shorties like me! Well done with DS and the BF, I'm sure he'll soon stop fiddling with you, hope the soreness eases soon.

Cazzy, did not realise we weren't FB friends! Have found you and added you

Evie's speach seems to have come on in leaps and bounds since we have been away, yesterday she started asking where things are... "Mummeeeeee...where Daddy/Tiggy/Boys/Baby?" Very cute the first three or four times! She seems to be adding an "ee" sound (shoes = shoesies, bag = baggy, olives = oflies etc) to the end of lots of her words now, which she wasn't doing before, anyone elses LOs doing this?

cazzybabs · 13/08/2009 14:28

i have a nose look at your photos thanks Beckle...I agree Evie does look oler than she is..love the evie villiage...scotland looks so beautiful...it is on my list of places to go (once we have some money after expesive roof repairs

Just had a friend over with her totally yummy 12 week old - so tiny...

I am still BF evie ... although I like doing less and less in public as I get some judging books.

BTW any cloth user nappies - Evie's poos really really small and the nappies still smell after washing...any tips?

cazzybabs · 13/08/2009 14:31

arse - menat cross out nose...why didn't it work...ahhh I misread the instructions

claireybee · 13/08/2009 15:25

Cazzy I wash mine in bio now because they were still stinky with non bio, could be worth a try? I don't soak but I do do a cold rinse first, that seems to help.

WRT bf his fiddling etc had been annoying me for a while then one day I woke up and couldn't stand to have him feeding . No idea what triggered it but it really was overnight!

BouncingTurtle · 14/08/2009 10:39

Hello, sorry I haven't been on, been poorly or busy with work!

Hope everyone is okay.

Will look for your photos, Beckle!

becklespeckle · 14/08/2009 14:58

Cazzy, Scotland is great, we are lucky to have family on Orkney so it cuts our costs a lot (although we did almost 2000 miles in a car with a 4.5 litre engine - ouch!) How is the roof now? Had a nose look at your photos too, they are very good and your girls are all very beautiful! I notice your Evie has the same little backpack as mine! One of the best things I've bought without a doubt. Well done for still BFing too! I sometimes still miss the closeness of it although Evie never seemed to so she must have been ready when we stopped (just short of a year). Hope you enjoyed the cuddles with your friend's baby, my neighbour is due one fairly soon so looking forward to cuddles there! How are things with you, did your bleeding sort itself out? Do you think you will try again? (please feel free to kick me if I am being insensitive) Am finding myself more broody lately, probably DH's fault though as he keeps going on about having another, I'm just not sure though.

Hey Clairey

Hi BT, how are you? Glad to hear you've been busy with work, I hope that's a sign its all going well?!

cazzybabs · 14/08/2009 15:38

Beckle - the rucksack thing is funny because Evie will only walk is she is holding the lead - so not so great for us

I havw to hurry up as dd1 wants to go on facebook and as she cycled 9 miles I think she deserves a treat (and she has a swimming lesson in an hour and a half)...

We are going to try again - probably around Xmas because I would be a hypercrite if I had a summer born baby - (because I am a teacher ) - and also better for maternity leave

Arcadie · 14/08/2009 16:43

Cazzy exciting that you're trying again soon. eeeep (excited noise)

OP posts:
claireybee · 14/08/2009 21:14

LOL DS likes to hold the lead too, when we go for a walk he stands by the door holding it shouting lets go! When he was a bit younger I attached another lead to it (from normal style reins) then he could hold one and i'd still have hold of him.

Went to ikea with my mum today and forgot to take reins with me, he was ok though, just ran a bit wild through the room sets bit (yelling can't catch me where did he learn that??)then agreed to sit in a trolley in the marketplace

Great news you are trying again soon

Boobs still really painful, when will they stop hurting???

BT hope you are fully recovered, are you enjoying your job?

Arcadie haven't you started the thread countdown yet?
