oh and gossip alert - do you remember fifisworld? She is pg with no. 3! (saw it on fb). I'm sure she is getting married this year - might have to adjust the waistband slightly!

spiralqueen · 31/07/2009 13:12

Greetings from France Had 10 hours in the car to get here but DD was great. Put Boogie Beebies on the seat back DVD player and although we were driven nuts by it, it kept DD entertained all the way apart from a 2 hour sleep and a couple of pitstops. She did throw up about 10 miles from our destination but not a biggie. The DVD player was the best investment we have made in a long time.

DD is loving being here amongst my sister's chickens, ducks, cat, dog and horses.

I have no idea why her language skills are so developed. We have always read to her and tried to speak normally to her, plus she's been at nursery with lots of singing and stories, but she does speak more than most of the DCs in her class.

Clara DD is the same all fruit is "apple" and the only colour is "green" - well Gurrrrrreeeeeeeen just like Clairey's DS.

We too have well thumbed copy of Toddler Taming

Hope the packing's going well Beckle and enjoy your holiday.

Waves to everyone

claireybee · 31/07/2009 13:51

SQ glad you made it and the journey wasn't too bad!

Skid I saw something on fifis page a few weeks ago that made me wonder if she was pg! (but I try to avoid looking at her status because she is too sickeningly happy!)

I absented myself at bedtime last night to see if he'd forget but he came running to find me saying "mummy I need booby!"

and NO NO NO! to potty training The trauma is all too recent!

claireybee · 31/07/2009 13:58

Sorry about all the exclamation marks there btw, I am obviously over excited about something

BouncingTurtle · 01/08/2009 07:40

Yes I think it might be October she is getting married? I forget!

Good for her! Hope she comes and fills us in with her gossip soon

DS's bed is ordered, it'll take about 3 weeks to come. I've got a duvet and pillow on order too, have already got some nice bedding. Then I'll need to reorganise his room.

I've been trying to teach ds to jump. He managed it once but fell over - happily he thought it was very funny.

claireybee · 04/08/2009 11:52

DS has fallen asleep across me

Left him with my friend yesterday when dd and I went to dh's citizenship ceremony. He went mental when we left but apparently was fine after that, until we went to pick him up and when I started gathering stuff together he threw himself at me and started crying "I come, I come" I said yes you're coming but he didn't believe me until I strapped him into his buggy

claireybee · 05/08/2009 15:01

And then there was one...

Doctorskidaddle · 05/08/2009 16:44

hi clairey - I'm here but not really with time to post - congrats to your DH - what was the ceremony like? Did he have to give up his Botswana citizenship?

claireybee · 05/08/2009 16:58

Well as long as you haven't abandoned us for your due in thread

How's the morning sickness?

Erm officially yes he was supposed to...but noone said anything so he hasn't! The ceremony was ok, in the town hall chambers, bit of a speech about what it means to be a British Citizen, a bit about the local area then they had to make either an oath or an affirmation depending on whether religious or not and then we had coffee and chocolate biscuits

buzzybee · 06/08/2009 10:27

Hi Clairey, I'm here too! Was also wondering where everyone had gone, I guess you're all on summer hols.
Coffee and choc biscuits
I had my first official function at the Zoo tonight - opening of a new facility. It was a bit of a mare tho as had to go pick up DD2 from creche first and then retrace my steps completely across the other side of town back to Zoo.
She's been in very good spirits this week which has been lovely after a couple of weeks of being grizzly with teeth pain and also going through major separation anxiety issues (I sympathise with the "I come"!).

claireybee · 06/08/2009 13:59

I think this is a bad age for separation axiety isn't it, I remember dd being a bit clingier around this age (although that could have been because I'd just presented her with a baby brother)

How did the function go? Job sounds pretty interesting

DS hasn't had any bm since 4am yesterday. I've just had enough really and am being mean about it (I decided better that than me resenting it...). My left boob is massive and aching but the right seems fine so production there had obviously slowed a while ago!

insywinsyspider · 06/08/2009 21:44

hellooo, how is everyone?

drskid - thanks for your comments re ds1's behaviour, I think a lot of it is a 3yr old thing, I've been reading Toddler Taming whilst feeding at night (ahh the days of reading 'real' books are gone!) and it basically says he's attention seeking - obviously - and the way it suggests to cure it.... one-to-one attention not sure how to do that with 3 ds's....
anyway hope your feeling ok?

arcadie I didn't seen a message from you, how are you doing at the moment?

cazzy also how are things with you? did you tell your mum bout pregnancy in the end? hope your enjoying the summer hols x

buzzy ds2 is having sep anxiety at the moment, its reassuring to know is developmental and not just due to ds3 arriving - are you finding dd wakes in the night? ds2 is waking a couple of times in night and goes straight back to sleep when I put my hand on his back, I think its anxiety but not sure...

all going well (ish ) here, the boys stop nursery in a couple of weeks (they go twice a week and love it) and I'm feeling sad about stopping them although we can't afford it as it is but its been a life saver for me getting some sleep - something else to add to the guilt list along with not enough 1-1 attention for the boys! am also very proud am still breastfeeding ds3, it gets harder to find the time and energy each time round but aiming for 6 months again (hopefully longer like you guys have done )

BouncingTurtle · 06/08/2009 21:58

Yey go Insy!!!

Just take it a day at a time!

BouncingTurtle · 06/08/2009 22:14

Happy Birthday Claraq!

claraquack · 07/08/2009 07:59

Thanks BT - saw your message on FB too. We had a good day yesterday but it didn't go entirely to plan as the picnic I had planned was rained off and it then proceeded to rain for the rest of the day.... However my parents were able to babysit in the evening so dh and I had a nice meal out.

Off to Devon today, not sure how easy it will be to have internet access so I might not be on for a while. I am reassured to hear that others are having similar problems to us, like waking in the night but only needing a bit of reassurance to get her back to sleep. Otherwise she is doing really well (apart from she hates her travel cot and getting her to sleep in it at naptime is almost impossible!).

claireybee · 07/08/2009 11:19

Feeling really awful and guilty now because ds has been up in night with high temp I would have given in and fed him in the night if he'd asked for it I think. His temp is still high now, he's just fallen asleep on me but I feel so guilty

claireybee · 07/08/2009 11:24

Insy everything sounds positive wth you . Are you doing baby whisperer again? I think anyone who manages to stick to a routine of any kind is amazing, I gave up after about 2 weeks with ds because it was just too difficult to get him into it!

Clara happy birthday for yesterday and enjoy your time in Devon

buzzybee · 07/08/2009 11:24

Hi Insy! Yes I think the separation thing is classic at around 18-20 months. I think we've passed the peak. DD2 also has a MAJOR passion for a particular toy tiger and the big thing for her when she wakes in the night is to put it back in her clutches and she's fine again. Problem is that it is practically sucked to death and I don't know how much longer its going to last. We did have a minor breakthrough today when she followed my request to put tigey on her car seat when we got out of the car at creche and she waved him bye-bye, so cute!

insywinsyspider · 07/08/2009 23:05

buzzy ds has a toy lion for nursery naps and won't go without it - I have a spare in the cupboard but its so new and unchewed I think he'd reject it anyway!

clairey trying baby whisper, just following EASY but to be honest any baby book is pants once you have more than one - like the advice to respect his routine, yeah right then the other two would just drive me mad being stuck in the house all day, also having to feed every 2 hrs today not really the 3hr plan she has in mind!
try not to feel guilty about temp, nothing you could have done about it and sounds like he's getting much needed cuddles x

Arcadie · 08/08/2009 23:52

Hi Girls - not dropped off face of the world - just been at Mum and Dad's without tinterweb. (gasp)

Still pg as far as I know. have scan on Monday. YEAH the 2 and a half weeks are nearly up! Have had the world's most blisteringly awful migraine today which is either a good sign or a bad one. Have fretted myself into knots wondering which one.

Was at brother's wedding too. Lovely affair and no one was sober enough to realise I was. Photos on FB if any of you fancy noseying.

Will catch up with more posts soon.

Good to hear from you, Arcadie, was thinking about you.

I had horrid migraines when I was pregnant too, so maybe a good sign! Keeping all my fingers and toes crossed for you and sending lots of prayers too!

Arcadie · 10/08/2009 08:45

Thanks BT - off for the scan whenever DH gets out of shower!
