is everyone busy on facebook?? I need to get that onto my blackberry but can't until I get home... I just can't wait to "see" everyone! I can't remember if I have pics of me on my profile... might just be Q...

Marthasmama · 26/02/2009 14:29

You do have pics of you Star! I'm here, just nothing to report. M has just truend herself round on our bed. She did have her legs away from me, now they are interferring with my typing. DH is here too, before you tell me off for neglecting her!

loulou33 · 26/02/2009 15:11

All this talk of fb is very confusing for a luddite like me - am i the only one without fb???

HMM - Tell your friend not to use nipple shields. My friend did and although they helped in the short term as she had mastitis and cracked nips, the baby was not getting enough milk even though she was sucking for hours. This mum didn't realise that she was not getting enough milk. the baby lost tons of weight and was very thin (I was shocked as i could see all her ribs etc). paed told the mum she was starving and now has to give her forumla every 2 to 3 hours day and night to get her up to a safe weight - very scary....Please persuade her to keep going with bfing and don't let the health profs tell her to give up and give formula just cos baby has jaundice (they are prone to doing this a lot)breast milk is the best thing to beat jaundice.

got to go Joe awake

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/02/2009 15:11

I was attempting to have a nap, but dd came and woke me after 20-30 mins, and started screeching at me. Dh now taken her up to her room (think he's trying to get her to have a little nap before she goes to party), and I'm back trying to feed ds to sleep (he's only had a 25min nap and a 5 min nap since getting up at 6). I expect that everyone else will now end up napping for double the time I did .

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 26/02/2009 15:26

ds is starting to be able to sit unsupported btw. He's only managed a few secs sitting right upright, but slouched forward a bit he managed a couple of mins this morning. Not much but a start!

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 26/02/2009 15:39

just a 20 min nap for ds again

Honeymoonmummy · 26/02/2009 16:18

Sorry to hear you're getting so little sleep CSWS. We just had the weigh-in - she's gained 6oz! Thay's 15oz in 2 weeks!

Marthasmama · 26/02/2009 16:20

Wow CSWS! He's only 20 weeks tomorrow isn't he? DD is nowhere near sitting up, but she's getting really good at moving herself about. She's still terrible on her tummy though, but now instead of crying she just lies there sucking her hand.

Marthasmama · 26/02/2009 16:23

Well done Poppy! My friend's DD is now 24lbs and is the same age as M. She's 8 lbs heavier than M and there was 4 oz between them when they were born. She's also sitting on her own and is growing out of 12 month clothes! It's costing my friend a fortune.

Honeymoonmummy · 26/02/2009 16:27

Jeesus 24 lbs?!?

Marthasmama · 26/02/2009 16:41

She's really stocky and well, big! She's not a fat baby but she looks like a 9/10 month old. It's really funny to see M and her DD together as DD is quite danity even though she's a bit of a porker!

jenwa · 26/02/2009 17:14

Oh god, I am sooo sorry I just realised I stupidly put a name on here!
Can I remove it? Oh damm it! Soooo sorry!!!!

I was not thinking and just wanted to clarify who it was are you offeneded?

jenwa · 26/02/2009 17:19

Offended was what I meant.

have emailed MN to get removed!

aubergenie · 26/02/2009 19:07

I've requested to join the fb group too! My first name begins with E. Is that enough info?

I don't think there are any pics of me on there, but I'll try and add some soon.

Honeymoonmummy · 26/02/2009 20:01

It's gonna take my baby brain aaages to get used to the new names! I've been looking at profiles - funny how there's a few of us in finance!

Marthasmama · 26/02/2009 20:02

I was meaning to ask you all ladies - how loudly do your babies cry? Three of my friends have babies around the same age as M and none of them are anywhere near as loud as M! They all cry quite quietly, but the mums seem to think it's loud. You can hear M crying from outside the house. I don't know if she is super noisy or if the other babies are quiet. I have blocked DS's crying from my memory as he cried so much. I think he had reflux (projectile vomiting, screaming after a feed for hours etc) but 5+ years ago it wasn't really talked about.

Marthasmama · 26/02/2009 20:08

Ooooo. I'm not anymore Honeymoon. I HATED it!

Honeymoonmummy · 26/02/2009 20:26

Poppy's a screamer sometimes and she's really high-pitched. She makes your ear feel funny sometimes if u know what I mean!

Were u the bank MM?

Marthasmama · 26/02/2009 20:39

Yes, that funny little wobbly feeling in your ear. I know that one!! I don't understand your question Honeymoon. Sorry, I'm probably being super thick!

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/02/2009 20:52

Ds cries much more quietly than dd did, although he can be shockingly loud for such a quiet baby on occasion!

I've reported your post too jenwa in the hope that there is someone working tonight, and that they'll pay more attention if multiple people highlight it.

Yes 20 wks tomorrow mm, but it seems that I tend to produce physically advanced children, as dd was an early sitter/crawler/walker as well. I'm going to search my old posts to see if I can find exactly when dd started sitting.

OP posts:
Honeymoonmummy · 26/02/2009 21:01

Sorry CSWS, I got rather preoccupied by FB, excellent news re sitting! )

Are you still on course for your night out tomorrow?

MM someone on FB worked in a well-known bank. Maybe not you...I can see why it didn't make sense!!

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/02/2009 21:06

It's next Friday that I want to go out!
Haven't tried him with the bottle yet, so don't know if it's a goer or not. Must try over the weekend, then if it works I can express when dd is at school next week.

OP posts:
Honeymoonmummy · 26/02/2009 21:10

Oh I forgot to say... when I got Poppy weighed I mentioned she hadn;t slept too well in the past week and kept wakng to feed and it was prob the 4 month growth spurt, and she said "Did she REALLY need feedng?" Well yes actually because before last week she'd only put on 2 oz in 2 weeks, look at the red book!!! Grrrrr! She then said "well we'll see how she is next week then"!!! Silly cow!
