OK, I'll start. My name is Jammy and I want to be healthy. I need to lose a lot of weight. But I'm not going to focus on that. I am going to focus on being healthy, and looking after myself. I joined the gym today, so that's a good start, right?

Jammy, that is brilliant! I can't resist deep-fried food, especially if pastry is involved, so well done

keepingitRia · 20/02/2009 22:54

well done jammy, that sounds like my kind of buffet

none-starter here today

Sputnik · 21/02/2009 14:51

Just popping on to say you are all doing brilliantly
I am feeling like total crap with sinusitis, constant headaches etc, so really not feeling like exercise. But I will be good to go in a few days I hope.

Burnsi I am just like you, I eat healthily most of the time but BF (yes I'm still BF too) and tiredness make me want to eat more than I should. I am planning to stop in the spring though. It's been tough the last month tbh as when DS is ill (ie most of the last month) he tends to bite and it's been really painful. I fed DD til she was over 2 though and I would feel like I'm short-changing DS if I don't approach that with him.

Well we had our posh lunch out today with friends for DH's birthday. I tried to choose reasonably - carpaccio of beef with capers and something else, and chicken with stuffed cabbage. The beef had a bit more oily dressing than I'd expected, and the cabbage was stuffed with what seemed to be a sausagemeat based stuffing however. But I didn't have any booze, or pudding, and I spent more time walking round and round with jamlet than I did sitting down so I don't think it was too outrageous.

Well I'm not needing to feel guilty about having 2 lots of toast last night because I'm not able to (or wanting to) eat anything today.

keepingitRia · 24/02/2009 15:29

I am cross because I feel ill. And don't feel up to exercise or food.

And I won't be wearing the skirt I wanted to when I collect DM&F from the station next week I can't believ I haven't managed it again (as in every time they've gone to NZ I've intended to lose weight before they get back)

I will have to focus on a longer-term plan and create a "goal event" for myself (I suppose in that respect the Race for Life would be perfect)

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 24/02/2009 17:48

It is annoyinh when illness gets in the way just as you're determined to exercise. But give it a couple of days and you'll be back with it, I'm sure Ria

Sputnik · 25/02/2009 09:58

Ria maybe you won't fit that skirt but focus on all the fantastic progress you have achieved, you have lost some weight, you have exercised, you have started running fgs! You are doing really well.

i have nearly shaken my sinus infection. Will try to be good food wise today and start writing everything down on fitday. If I get through the day without paracetamol I might start exercising tomorrow.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 25/02/2009 14:21

that fitday site looks good, thanks sputnik

well, the treadmill is assembled...

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 26/02/2009 22:52

Ooooh, exciting stuff Ria. Good luck! And yes a goal would be good - I've always found that very inspirational.

keepingitRia · 27/02/2009 09:54

well, renewed enthusiam here today

just had a gentle half hour walk after the school run (although was a bit hot and puce when I got home, I don't think my friend has ever walked so slowly). I have a pan on with potato cubes for my slimming world cooked breakfast...

Hope it lasts

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 27/02/2009 12:05

Good for you Ria I put my back into all the actions at singing group this morning, lifting arms up and down and stomping hard to the grand old duke of york. Does that count as exercise?

keepingitRia · 27/02/2009 12:09

it does. I was wondering about buying baggins a Boogie Beebies DVD

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 28/02/2009 08:49

The "addiction" is obviously taking hold. I would normally go to the gym on a Sat morning, but with no DH here I can't and I'm missing it

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 01/03/2009 21:18

Have eatne a big bar of choc Am sure it's linked to feeling miserable because I couldn't use the gym yesterday or have my swim this morning.

keepingitRia · 03/03/2009 09:20

If DH is in tonight I will try and get out for a run...

keepingitRia · 03/03/2009 15:20

OK, so DH is out tonight

and the boys are still using the treadmill as a new toy
