morning all

lily - so sorry to hear about the potential redundancy... fingers crossed it isnt dh.. the unfortunate thing is that it is goin to keep happening isnt it until things look up so everything is permanantly on hold.

simpson · 13/02/2009 09:23

Hi all

Lilyloo - let us know how DP gets on today...

Well DS was rather hungry when he woke up and had a whole bowl of rice crispies followed by 2 weetabix followed by fruit

DD on the other hand ate like a bird half a weetabix and a fruitapura pot and 3 ozs neocate.

Am meeting someone at baby clinic this morning. Not getting her weighed as I got her weighed yesterday but there will be activities for DS to do

Lucky - I wouldn't do the rubbish thing. I would be pretty peed off if someone did it to me without asking iyswim.

Having said that next door have a plastic little tikes desk in their back garden which their 5yr old boy has probably out grown and I keep waiting to see if they are going to put it out with rubbish then I would retrieve it for DS I don't know her well enough to ask if I could just have it iyswim as its obviously been abandoned in garden...

madmouse · 13/02/2009 09:42

Lucky after posting about the rubbish thing I discovered someone had put so much rubbish in my bin that the lid was open, which is against council rules I took it all out again .

Council was under no obligation to take my bin with the lid open

My bin is normally only half full because I recycle lots, but we had a clearout of old and broken toys at church yesterday and I had taken the rubbish home.

madmouse · 13/02/2009 09:44

simpson you could say you have seen the desk and it would be so useful for ds can you pay for it. They will probably let you have it for free

simpson · 13/02/2009 10:04

Madmouse - was going to especially as they are building some sort of wooden play house thingie for their son in the garden and might want the space...but don't have the guts

Might get DH to do it!!

I do see her at the school so maybe I will just bite the bullet and ask...she can only say no

LuckySalem · 13/02/2009 15:22

MM - See that was why I was thinking about doing it with my neighbour cos it was no where near full. Would never do it so lid doesn't shut though as I know they wouldn't take it. Thats really cheeky.

fillybuster · 13/02/2009 17:39

Oh dear ...I keep losing you....its amazing how fast the threads fill up, even a year on

Will try to catch up now, just wanted to quickly pop in and say 'hi' - hope you are all enjoying your brilliant lo's now they've turned 1 and that those of you with the next one on the way are all feeling ok?

Starting to get very broody myself...suddenly reaslised this week how 'big' (relatively, obviously!) Tamara had got and that she really isn't a little baby any more. Time to start planning #3

Love to all xx

fillybuster · 13/02/2009 17:46

I missed a meetup at Gingeme's [evny]

That is just so so so not fair!!!

Hi all

Special hello to Filly to make up for missing meet up

Molly not well today has temp of 38.6

She has gone to bed already and has had calpol/nurofen etc. Think its her teeth.

She has eaten very little today but managed a decent sized tea by just offering her favs. She ate blueberries, raspberries, jelly, rich tea fingers

Found some adorable velcro boots from tescos. Got size 9-12mths but they are enormous on her...oh well more room to grow

Lilyloo - how did DP get on today??

simpson · 13/02/2009 18:10

Forgot to say went to baby clinic this morning and I took DS as they have toddler type activities going on too.

He had a great time and made me a lovely valentines card and played with clay etc...

HV suggested with DD's whinging that I should try giving her my undivided attention for 10 mins out of every hr. Even set alarm if I need to. Then she will learn that although I am busy I have not left her iyswim. Also after 10 mins she will have had enough one to one attention and want some space to creep about. That's the theory anyway

Anything is worth a go

LuckySalem · 13/02/2009 20:08

Lily - Where are you? Everything ok?

madmouse · 13/02/2009 20:38

Oh Lily I don't like the silence. Bit worried you would have popped on to reassure us if it was ok

Simpson I hope the advice works. It would not with Nathan who reasons more like 'Well you let me be velcro 10 minutes ago and I aint finished being velcro'

Fi-ll-y sings madmouse, come back here at once. Door slamming is bad manners besides the big meetup is yet to come. 28 February, still time for a cheapie ticket comon you know you want to.

Nathan has made two weetabix a fixture, even eats them for dh when in a bit of a hurry. Childminder was stunned at his appetite, he ate a whole jar for lunch which was as she described it 'the same size as him', ate all his yogurt and nicked her toast , was too busy and tired to eat much tea but had two pots of yogurt after.

He has another new habit, carrying things around. The entire day he has ferried a box of raisins with him. the same one I took off him before bed last night. When he dropped it at the dining table he tried to take a piece of his train set to bed instead. Silly boy

Need to go and do dishwasher, dh out. It is noisy in the kitchen as all the little plastic toys and stickle bricks from our smallest church are going round and round in my washing machine that's how my mum used to do it!

LuckySalem · 13/02/2009 20:41

MM - Thats so funny. DD has just started that too. I think its dead cute.

I'm worried about Lily too - I do hope that they're out celebrating.

simpson · 13/02/2009 20:44

Madmouse - when DS learnt to wk he had to have a small box of something raisin shaped to carry around all the time

Maybe its a boy thing

DD still not well ...had temp of 39.1 about half an hour ago but it has now gone down to 38.8 but she insists on sleeping on her front which makes her hotter. Grrr...

LuckySalem · 13/02/2009 20:46

Simp - Dress her cooler than you normally would, if temp still up tomorrow I'd consider the docs.

simpson · 13/02/2009 20:51

DS never really got high temps and when he did they responded quickly to calpol and calpol never seems to work with DD.

She had a dose of nurofen at 6ish.

Have taken her sleeping bag off and put a sheet over her instead.

LuckySalem · 13/02/2009 20:53

I'd just keep an eye on her, perhaps before you go to bed check her temp again and if you wake up in the night check it.

Dont try to cool her with a window open as it'll be TOO cold then. How about leaving her door open so you can hear her?

simpson · 13/02/2009 20:55

Her door is a jar already...

Will take her temp again before I go to bed but will have to be more careful as I woke her up last time!!

LaTrucha · 13/02/2009 20:55

Simpson - I hope DD gets a good night and her temperature goes down. And I hope she gets a tooth . Did you get the desk?

Lilyloo - I'm hoping things are ok with you

Filly! As I've said to the others, you can come to Spain and have a meet-up here. I'll cook the tortillas!

Lucky - what did you do with your rubbisjh in the end?

Madmouse - very cute about the rasins / train.

Gingeme - you ok?

Sabela seems all set to get all her teeth within the next week. Yesterday she showed me where her gum is swolloen with an inscisor, htis morning the other side was swollen and this afternoon I noticed another molar is nearly through!

Chocloate and churros was a nightmare by the way. The chocolate gave me such a headache I had to lie down for most of the afternoon . Still had a nice day though.

madmouse · 13/02/2009 20:55

simpson that is high , especially for teething although I think Sabela gets it too, LaT?

you know you can alternate nurofen and calpol so she has something every two hours?

What makes you think she gets hotter on her front? Sleep is good though, fling open a window.

madmouse · 13/02/2009 20:57

x-post with Lucky saying don't open a window

simpson · 13/02/2009 20:58

Think her face just seems more flushed all squashed against the sheets iyswim.

LaT - the dad walked past me today with the little boy and I chickened out of asking about desk May get DH to do it!!

LuckySalem · 13/02/2009 20:58

LaT - I kept the rubbish and spoke with her and she's actually said yeh no probs - if its out the night before and it doesn't overflow it then she doesn't mind at all Good to know for the future although we're trying to recycle more.

simpson · 13/02/2009 21:03

her temp has gone back up to 39.4...

She is wide awake in cot quite happy has had some water and some ff but not much...
