Simpson - not seen that story, where is it? he doesn't sound brilliant!

Hope everybody, big or small, who isn't feeling well gets better soon.
G - don't put off that appt for too long.

Had a lovely day here as computers in work weren't working and the helpdesk was understaffed and can't fix them for a few days. So other woman and I came home, she worked in DH's office, i 'worked' on my laptop....mostly got odd jobs done
was so nice to have the house to myself (apart from her but she was working) with no boys interrupting.
Have a plan to send DH with the boys to PILs for a few weekends, think i have to get them in the diary

Sorry, probably missed out loads, hey Frag good to see you! otherwise know i have read and sent vibes

Housemum · 02/02/2009 18:57

Hello - like Mrs MacJ, hadn't posted for so long it was off my list...

Skipped a couple of pages

Simpson - can't believe DD still sits in a Bumbo! I had to sell mine last October after Houdini got out too many times.

Ginge - fingers crossed it's nothing, hope weather OK so you get to app't

Snow!!! We have about 5-6 inches, built snowman this morning, DDs 1 and 2 are not at school today or tomorrow. Quite nice to have a bonus "weekend"! (DH's boss said not to try going in today, he has cancelled his meeting in Manchester tomorrow)

Few more steps from Amelie today - now she can manage 5 before collapsing in a heap!

Half term meet-up - DH off work so won't be able to come as we are planning to do some family stuff and maybe spend a couple of days in West country with relatives.

Lilyloo · 02/02/2009 20:04

Hope all you ladies enjoying the snow

We have had about 4/5" today so not much all schools open as normal but it has been blizzarding for last 2 hours and supposed to get worse
Have been laughing at all people on news enjoying themselves. We so spoilt the dc haven't even bothered going out in it today!!!

Hi all

Well Nathan is off to sleep with only about 2 ounces of milk in his tummy. He has lived off yogurt milk and water today, plus a crust or two of bread. No more voimiting, but seemingly no appetite and a nasty poo and sore bum just before bed. I hate things like this, not sure what it is, does it need doctor, not serious enough, why isn't he eating. I must be the most fretful mum in living history

On the good side Nathan is making loads of new sounds and is starting to call his water cup 'ata', get it ? Plus he is cutting not one but at least two top teeth which is great but probably adding to the misery and the sore bum.

Lily, lol at you being bored of snow and me taking pics from front step and posting them on facebook

Ginge how is George?

LuckySalem · 02/02/2009 20:51

Hi all,

Didn't have much snow to play in this morning but its gone nuts since about 5pm and hasn't stopped. Only thing is it looks like its turning to sleet so I'm just hoping it doesn't go before the morning so me and DD can make snowmen.
Went into the snow and made handprints took a pic and posted it on facebook

DD has been off today as well so wingey. I had to leave her to it a few times cos there was no pleasing her. She's been quite naughty too - I think she's trying her luck with us now to see how far she can get. She's been throwing proper tantrums and arching her back and everything. Kept saying the sentence - This too will soon pass.

Poor Nathan - DD has sore bum too Just had a soak in the bath and put 1/2 tub of sudocreme on it. Hope he feels better tomorrow. I wouldn't worry yet if he is eating/drinking but perhaps call the doctor tomorrow and see if they'll give you some advice on the phone? My surgey does it but you have to wait for them to call back (which can take anything upto their lunchtime so about 4 hours was the longest I waited)

simpson · 02/02/2009 21:00

Lucky - glad you got some snow

DS got to make a snowman today and insisted it had grapes for eyes and a carrot for nose!!

Think our snow is turning icy for tomorrow though...boo hiss!!

But DS is off school again. If weather bad and DD not well I have dug out DS's copy of The Snowman. He got it for Christmas from my dad and never got a chance to watch it. Might be good for tomorrow after making one today.

DD creeps all round the house (still quite slowly) shouting mum mum mum if I go too far away from her. Drives me mad, especially if I am cooking...

Housemum - she eats her toast at about 11am in bumbo and won't climb out as long as she is stuffing her face

Sorry to hear of all the poorly babies...hope they are better tomorrow

LuckySalem · 02/02/2009 21:09

Gosh I'm totally freaked out now. lol. Am "friends" with a couple of people from babyclub on facebook now and just realised their age. One is 18 with a 1 and 1/2 old and one is 21 with a 2 and 1/2 year old. Its not so much the age but they seem SO grown up. More so than me who's 25 this year
Having a kid must make you grow up- although I don't think I have

simpson · 02/02/2009 21:17

Lucky - am 36 and you should have seen me rolling on floor making snow angels with DS

madmouse · 02/02/2009 21:18

Lucky it is one of the many things I love about you. Your big kid side. Never grow up, it is not necessary

LuckySalem · 02/02/2009 21:20

LOL - Just shocked me as they all seem at least my age. I will never grow up cos its more fun to play with DD when I'm around her level intelectually. (as proven by not being able to spell it LMAO )

Lilyloo · 02/02/2009 21:25

i haven't taken M out in it yet but dp (his day off today) gave her some to hold
(haven't taken her out in it for fun should i add) actually a person who was gritting hill near us commented on seeing me pushing pram up and down in snow and said i must have huge biceps hope he didn't see me fall!!

Hope it still there tom Lucky it bliazzrding here , hope dp snowed off work tom (doubtful or at least school shut) !!

Lilyloo - I couldn't even push DD to the end of the front garden Snow was quite deep then though!!

Molly was in buggy with snow suit, mittens, hat, buggy snuggle thingie and the rain cover down...so she couldn't see much really. No wondering she was grizzly!!

DS had a great time and for the first time in about 2 months played with the little boy from next door so he was all pleased about that!!

When DH got home from work about 2ish he took DS out again but i stayed in with DD, was too cold for her by then.

Lilyloo · 02/02/2009 21:34

True Simps it's more like dragging makes a good snow shovel actually!!
Glad ds enjoyed it my only hope is that we will have good summer to follow this winter

Lucky - aaarrgh - I'm old enough to be BOTH their mothers!!!!!

Lilyloo · 02/02/2009 21:52

any ideas ladies?

AngeChica · 02/02/2009 21:52

Think you southerners have got much more snow than us though I was worried about getting to work and back today - see how it is tomorrow! There was a lot more in the city than where I live which is nearer to the coast.

hope under the weather babies and mums are feeling better by tomorrow.

Lucky, I find myself wishing on more than one occasion, wish I was bloomin' 10 years younger and doing this mum thing (LOL) I know for a fact I had far more get up and go at 25!

MM I get terrible sinusitis like that - interestingly a GP I work with reckons it's inherited if internal face shape has been passed downn IYSWIM!

MrsMc I read that about sperm once!

Simpson that story is very sad.

take care everyone in this weather.

Lilyloo · 02/02/2009 21:53

ooh Ange exact same time posts

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 02/02/2009 21:56

replied to your thread Lily
MrsMc and Ange - I've heard that about sperm and told DP so now he only wants a boy and thinks that if we do it everyday he'll get what he wants Thing is he's in bed too much to get it everyday so maybe i'll get another girl

simpson · 02/02/2009 22:03

Lily - replied on your thread too.

Lucky - heard that theory about sperm and wanting a girl. In fact tried that when TTCing DD.

MrsMcJnr · 02/02/2009 22:07

Lucky - in theory a boy requires less "input" than a girl as you only need to do the deed on OV day and maybe the day after whereas with a girl you can build up "supplies" for a few days before!

LuckySalem · 02/02/2009 22:08

Oh LMAO at that comment!! I'm not telling DP that!! hehehe

simpson · 02/02/2009 22:09

Mrs Mcjnr - that would be why DS was an accident then!!

madmouse · 02/02/2009 22:24

By the way, i have started a mumsnet blog. Not saying it is all terribly interesting, but it is fun and therapeutic.

JustKeepSwimming · 03/02/2009 06:32

Lily - replied.

Madm - like the blog not sure i could keep up with another thing. And i waffle so much would anyone want to read it!?!

Bad night here.
9.45 light off
11ish awake for no reason
2 woken by loud BANG, don't know what it was yet....
3.30 DS1 sobbing, brought him into bed with me and he went back to sleep
4ish - awake for no reason (well too hot i think, the heating finally working properly!)
5.50 - DS2 making noises, i was SO sure it was 8.55 and we were all going to be late for pre-school. then 'dreamt' i looked at the clock and it was 8.30, ok that's fine then. Then actually looked at the clock, 5.50. oh.
as i moved to look at the clock, ds1 woke.

fun.

DH away, of course.

(DS2 has woken at 7.30 that last 2 days, with dh here).

JustKeepSwimming · 03/02/2009 06:35
