DP says no cos he doesn't want DD in the pub all the time and doesn't want his family to have too much of an influence on her.

madmouse · 31/01/2009 21:49

oh I forgot - also have cheap banana leaf rocking chair from Ikea which is very good for bf, plus green frog fleece

and a Lakeland Limited kitchen trolley which has nappies muslins, brush, wipes etc

plus ikea play carpet with streets etc.

can you tell the boy has a ruddy double room for himself?

LuckySalem · 31/01/2009 21:51

I was looking at DD's room this evening and thinking we should move her to the BIG room ready for the next LO and so she can have her toys in her room rather than downstairs but I think DP wants to turn the BIG room into a game room - all DD's toys plus all the game consoles and a darts board lovely collection there!! lol

madmouse · 31/01/2009 21:59

Lucky your dp seems better in saying no than in helping you to do something for yourself!

simpson · 31/01/2009 21:59

Madmouse - DS has the same ikea street mat thingie for his cars in his room.

Lucky - even at age 3 DS doesn't play that much in his room yet. Prefers to be where I am etc.

If I am upstairs resting doing housework he will play in there otherwise he wants all his crap toys downstairs.

DD has the bigger room but it is narrow but very long iyswim. So the cot and single bed are not side by side but one above the other.

I heart my rocking chair. Have used it for both DCs. DD has her last bottle of the day in it before bed. Bought it with my first wage packet from P/T job when 16

LuckySalem · 31/01/2009 22:03

Well to be fair the pub is about 1/2 hr drive away so for it to be worth it i'd need to either be paid well or do alot of hours so will keep looking for jobs closer to home.

Was so cool though - brought back memories of the holiday camps!!

simpson · 31/01/2009 22:12

How far away does your mum live?

Are there any pubs nearer to her?

Then she can babysit while you have fun work...

LuckySalem · 31/01/2009 22:13

There's one down the road from mum but again 1/2 hour trip.

Its not biggie. I'll find something (although part of me doesn't want to)

simpson · 31/01/2009 22:14

Madmouse - someone is thanking you in breast & bottle feeding section...

Can't do link sorry but your name is in title

madmouse · 31/01/2009 22:21

Happy first birthday Nathan

Hope everyone having parties today has fun...Madmouse, Filly, Ange (?)

We have got DD's party at my mum's today. Just a family gathering and some cake

I have saved a couple of pressies for her to open (stuffed hippo from DS & her walker)

At least DH managed to get the candles!!

Gingeme · 01/02/2009 14:38

Happy Birthday Nathan XXX
We are swimming in pooh today Georges to be precise though it would seem Edward may have picked up whatever it is he has too now. Had George up at 1am-2.30am screaming and crying with 2 nappy changes and lots of
cross reassuring words from me Then he woke again at 6.30. Tried to shush him back to sleep but after an hour and lots of huffing and puffing DH got up with him and took him in the front room. About 7.30 I heard ds3 and 4 get up to hear DH say 'don't go in the front room theres shit everywhere!' then hearing the shower being put on that was my queu to get up Hes fine and dandy in himself though. Hasn't eaten much but I have been giving him more drinks than usual. Hope its just a 24 hour thing.
Still have done all my housework and cleaned up the shit that DH so lovingly told the boys to avoid and mopped the floors throughout. Phew is it bed time yet?

LuckySalem · 01/02/2009 16:30

Happy Birthday NATHAN!!

Poor ol' George. I hope he feels better soon and doesn't cover the house with pooh too much for you.

Gingeme · 01/02/2009 17:05

Thankyou Lucky He hasn't been for a while so hopefuly he's over the worst of it now.
He did walk right across the living room this afternoon. We all clapped and cheered he keeps taking more and more steps now

LuckySalem · 01/02/2009 17:07

Oh clever boy.

Aaliyah no longer seems interested in walking crawling is much easier. Although she is more talkative (baby gabbling mostly) so maybe she's gonna try to talk before walk - is that something that may happen?

I joined that bonkers annoymous thread today as me and DP are definatly trying for DC no2. Am still scared about it all but we're gonna try to save up for a doula and have a homebirth again as that eleviates most of my worries then.

simpson · 01/02/2009 17:20

Lucky - a doula is a fab idea.

Gingeme - hope George is over the worst.

DD been a pain in the bum bit whingey today, but the party was good.

She got lots of pressies and the helium balloon was a big hit (cheers Lilyloo )

Going to be a cold night I fear as its just started to snow

LuckySalem · 01/02/2009 17:22

We had teensy bit of snow and I got all excited but it went. Am really of those with snow now! I want to build a snowman with aaliyah tomorrow.

simpson · 01/02/2009 17:58

Don't want snow tomorrow as have got to take DS to the hospital (by bus) for his hearing test.

Any time after that is fine

madmouse · 01/02/2009 18:27

hi all have zonked baby in arms

nathan slept well but threw up his breakfast and the second breakfast . he did drink water and milk.

he was happy as larry at church holding court smiling away and ate most of a small pot fromage frais, but threw up the few spoons of food he had for lunch, but happily chewed on bread . he then made sounds in his nappy that made me go uhoh diarrhoea, but it was mostly air. it did make me ring the other mums who all decided to come anyway. 20 mins later he did a normal pooh...

sitting on dh's lap he spent most of the party stuffing his face with cake and ham sandwiches which did of course stay in

he has now been asleep since 5, falling asleep on dh in the middle of guests leaving. and he has a temperatue..

will have to wait and see!

JustKeepSwimming · 01/02/2009 19:43

Hope Nathan ok. glad day went well

doula does sound fab - how much do they cost? may look into it myself.

knackered here, silly really as pil are meant to make things easier but....hey ho.

did get to go into town on my own earlier and get some things done but don't feel like i've had much time off. dh has mostly slept all day though he says he's not ill.

had a stand off with ds1 earlier over not eating his tea. i 'won' in the end but it wore me out.
(not helped by having an audience of PIL & DH).

hmph, will feel better tomorrow.

Gingeme · 01/02/2009 20:04

Evening ladies. Ds's finaly in bed though I think if George could have taken himself to bed he would have.
Wow must be one of theos days. I had a stand off with ds3 about eating his tea. However I didn't win .
I'm off to the docs tommorrow. My asthma is playing up which is a bit worying as I only ever get it in the summer with my hayfever. I'm getting pains in my chest too though so gonna get checked out
Lucky I want to train to ba Doula when my lot are in school, if I'm not too old by then
Madmouse so glad Nathans day went well in the end. I hope hes well tommorrow.
Well thats about it from me.
Who is coming on the 11th? Need to know how big the chocolate cake has to be

JustKeepSwimming · 01/02/2009 20:20

Oh G - hope you're ok and the docs reassure you. maybe just need a change of asthma drug?

When i say 'won' he ate a pea, one bit of sweetcorn and the teeniest bit of roast chicken. All really yummy food but he didn't want anything, kept spitting () and generally being naughty.
Had naughty step, smack on hand, sent to bed without teddies, ended up in kitchen just him and me and he finally gave in. sobs, screams, tears.... and that's just me! no i stayed calm but did not enjoy it.
wish he would just eat a little even but when he gets in one of his moods....he's soooo stubborn! but so am i

Gingeme · 01/02/2009 20:29

Ok don't tell anyone but I have also felt a slight lump on my left breast too . I'll keep you posted. Havn't said anything to DH yet.
