So what were we all doing this time last year?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
gothicmama · 03/12/2008 21:22

this time last year I was asize 10, my cat was very ill,
this year I am a size 12 bottom half and 14/16 top half (how???) and about a stone heavier with another ds and no cat; life keeps you on your toes

gothicsanta · 03/12/2008 21:23

trying my festive name

TheHopefullyAndTheIvy · 03/12/2008 22:05

Ooh, I am going to have an exciting few days!

Going to London tomorrow (from West Sussex), then staying in Croydon with my aunt, then going to London again on Friday, then SIL's on Friday night (DP joining me friday night) and staying there for the weekend, including my first outing without T (for a couple of hours to a chocolate making place).
What an adventure it will all be! No idea how I'll cope - may well end up a sobbing wreck by saturday night, but if I do I'll just have a nice cosy evening in front of the TV with T.
Any survival tips gratefully received!

Ponymum · 03/12/2008 22:07

This time last year.. had been TTC for a year so didn't hold out much hope. Must have happened sometime around pre-Christmas - but please God after the night we spent at the Christmas pub quiz where we met a bunch of new best friends, drank ourselves stupid, won the quiz, then felt we were obliged to drink the bottle of champagne we had won....

Donkeymum · 03/12/2008 22:12

Tis the season for Ponymum to try a name change!

diginglebells · 03/12/2008 22:20

hopefully that sounds like a very ambitious adventure, I'm sure you'll cope marvellously. Are you taking T around London in the buggy or in the sling?

ponymum DS was conceived on a bottle of champagne on New Year's Eve, it's obviously a fertility aid.

LittleDonkeyCarrieMary · 03/12/2008 22:22

I love Christmas! I feel so happy!
Sorry about the cat though gothic

And to anyone who's ever been a size 10!

diginglebells · 03/12/2008 22:28

A is asleep. Since the weekend, we've had alternating good nights and bad nights - a good night he goes 3-4 hours between wakings, a bad night he's waking every hour from 1am. So we have been trying a new technique of 'not' feeding him everytime he wakes up. DH has managed to get him back to sleep several times now. Hopefully we can get his night waking/feeding down to once or twice.

mamamincepies · 03/12/2008 23:08

Hi guys
I love your festive name changes , I am feeling so chrismassy now.
Its hard to think I wasnt even trying for a baby this time last year. We waited untill after christmas to do the deed! I now have a massive bundle of joy. Its magical!!
Thank you all for keeping me company this year xxx

foxytocin · 04/12/2008 06:27

ITS 3 WEEKS TO CHRISTMAS!!!

hopefully surely the chocolte making trip is a survival technique in itself!

foxy NOT funny

foxytocin · 04/12/2008 09:04

sorry

gothicmama · 04/12/2008 09:07

foxy have not seen size 8 since pre dd

gothicsanta · 04/12/2008 09:07

hopefully have fun you will be ok

ninjinglebells · 04/12/2008 09:10

but remember foxy has had to carry around 2 kids with no hubby to help .... I'm still

Are you really an 8 on top and bf?

M still full of cold and there's been a LOT of screaming (especially at night). More settled last night but was awake for 2.5 hours! Her nose is sore, her eyes are all sticky and she keeps being sick 'cos she can;t breathe. Poor soul.

Very disappointed this morning. They cancelled dd1's school for today as blizzards and lots of snow were forecast, we'd planned a sledging expedition. This morning? .... rain. I'll have to think of something else to do. Oh well she's got the tooth fairy money from her first tooth to spend

plusoneFoggyChristmasEve · 04/12/2008 14:50

its so quiet here today! you all out christmas shopping?

ChristmasFlower · 04/12/2008 17:19

well, lollipop, hopefully and I (plus babies!!) met today for a coffee, and was lovely putting a "real" name to a "real" person after all these months, talking about babies & nappies ( kind of face-to-face MN really)! we'll hopefully get together again soon (and in a better baby-friedly place )

at foxy's size 8!!!!

ninja - with DS I ended up smaller than pre-pg, "empty" A-cup on top, but still managed to bf to nearly 12 months (when he probably got fed-up of nothing to hold and squeeze anymore..)

LittleDonkeyCarrieMary · 04/12/2008 19:20

Only 9 posts all day - surely more people were snowed in than that?!

ILikeToHoHoHo · 04/12/2008 19:31

No snow here in Suffolk. In fact it wasn't as cold as it has been recently.

I can't believe there are only 3 weeks until Christmas - holy shit, I need to get my arse in gear.

We've got our NCT mum's night out tomorrow. It's only the 2nd time I've been out on my own since M was born, and the 1st time was only to Sainsburys, so that doesn't count

notcitrus · 04/12/2008 20:49

Made it to post-natal exercise class today - really didn't want to get out of bed. Like every other baby in the area, A has had a stonking cold, so went back to waking every 2 hours rather than sleeping 6-7 hours straight. Last two nights were better.

Can fit into some pre-preg clothes, depending on where the squishy under-tummy fits. The raspberry-ripple lines have faded to strawberry...

We have stairs and windowframes in the loft now. Hoping to get glass in the windows and plastering all done by Christmas, but annoyingly might not be able to get bannisters. Turned out our builder lied about having got planning consent, and as house previously extended, we may have to lose the balcony... but better than having to knock the whole thing down. MrNC and the planner are double-checking arithmetic and with luck we will be a couple cubic metres inside the limit.

A is 11 weeks and likes playing with his hands, giggling, and generally looking around trying to understand the world. He usually looks very confused.

Donkeymum · 04/12/2008 22:07

Carrie - yes, totally snowed in here but what can I post that wouldn't be completely boring? We are all stuck inside. It is cold. I think we need to order more heating oil. Yep, that's pretty boring...

Foxy - size 8?? Does that make me twice as big as you?

Kagey · 04/12/2008 22:15

Had a very cranky Erin today, being a complete Jekyll and Hyde, alternating between grizzly and chuckles. DH home now so I can relax and go to bed!

Nighty night!

ninjinglebells · 04/12/2008 22:45

Last time I did go down on top,. but not til about 6 months.

We bought a Christmas Tree today - so that was quite exciting!

ninjinglebells · 05/12/2008 09:08

Just reread what I wrote last night and it sounds a bit dodgy . I was referring to bust size after bf just in case you wondered!

M still full of cold and screaming in the night - sleeping fine during the day though. I'm just hoping she doesn't reverse days and nights.

Going to Woolies to see if there any bargins, I see there may be a big sale today
