Here's a new thread especially for Kate79.

(she couldn't access the old one).

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SusiS · 07/02/2005 19:13

awwwww loving it!!!

yep, no deal without pros!!!

oh my, double work? thought it might be a little bit easier. well, thinking about it lucas will be walking by that time so surely he'll drive me crazy about the house! he probably wants to do lots of things for the baby and i have to rescue the poor mite! hmmm, any tips???

but double fun sounds great

SusiS · 07/02/2005 19:14

and oh yes! i am scared like hell!!!! bit too soon for my taste but ho hum, we'll manage somehow! hasn't actually sunk in yet i guess

Casmie · 07/02/2005 19:18

Well it is and it isn't easier. Dealing with a baby is easier (because you've done it before and get less easily panicked) but other issues crop up instead. Much harder to spontaneously go out with two, even more so than with one. More guilt (I could never give ds2 as much attention as I gave ds1 at the same age - but then he has a built in entertainer in ds1 as well... so it's swings and roundabouts).

My top tip: DON'T read Three socks, two shoes one hairbrush or whatever it's called that EVERYONE recommends you read. I found it terribly negative and while I was in the grip of pregnancy hormones it depressed the hell out of me.

SusiS · 07/02/2005 19:27

well, don't know it anyways
any recommendations what i should read instead?

yes, i was thinking about going out with 2!!
pfff, what's your age gaps? did you have a doublebuggy??

Casmie · 07/02/2005 19:48

What should you read? Um. Dunno really! Mumsnet, probably ;) Or as many novels as you can fit in as you'll NEVER HAVE TIME AGAIN!!!! (only joking!)

My age gap is almost exactly 3 years, so lucked out really and didn't need a double buggy.

SusiS · 07/02/2005 20:15

hehe i manage to read sometimes. couldn't live without it!!! and if it's only a few pages before i fall asleep!

hmm, so no help there.
just wondering if a doublebuggy then one sidebyside or oneaftertheother

Casmie · 07/02/2005 20:40

shrug pros and cons to both as far as I can tell. Start a double buggy thread?

spots · 07/02/2005 20:43

Oh Susi!! wow, how exciting!!! congratulations... How far through are you?

SusiS · 08/02/2005 06:56

Casmie · 08/02/2005 09:23

SusiS · 08/02/2005 09:39

Casmie · 08/02/2005 10:50

MrsDoolittle · 08/02/2005 11:33

Casmie · 08/02/2005 11:53

Yeah, then another 5 and it's dh's birthday!

Expensive month, May...

spots · 08/02/2005 12:46

oh dear I have a sick baby... no publication launch for us today. DDD is strapped to my hip, moaning at any annoyance and very fragile. Temperature of don't know what as she won't let me take it.

So Susi will you be joining another Due In... thread and leading a double life?! and how are you feeling?

egypt · 08/02/2005 13:35

WOW! Congrats Susi!

I'm at my mums. Must say I feel like shite. For 3 nights i havent slept really at all. I dont know if i feel sick because i havent slept or havent slept because i feel so sick, but dd has taken to waking at about midnight each and every night for 2 hours. so its after 2 that i do get to sleep. last night she was terrible and my mum took over. i didnt get any kip until 330 then she woke again at 430. then 8. i went back to bed until midday. still feel sick?! I'm pleased for you Susi, but hoping I'm not in the same boat iykwim, but all very familiar feelings. Spooky.

Anyway, having my haircut this afternoon then visiting my aunt who is in pain with gall stones, bless her, so we are all just fan dabby dosy in this part of the world!!!

lots of love x

SusiS · 08/02/2005 15:09

ouch casmie, all 3 together!! at least they can save lots of money for your birthday then

oh no spots! what a shame that you can't go to that publication - hope dd is feeling better soon!

oh no!! can't be undercover anymore, she's found out about my double life
how i am feeling? overwhelmed, very tired, exhausted, worried, scared, but sort of happy

aww egypt: hope dd finds out soon how to sleep through. sounds like mummy could do with looooooads of sleep! - utoh, are you getting a test??????? - same here, i sort of was suspiscios (sp) all week

Casmie · 08/02/2005 15:14

Nope the extension came so we were broke for my birthday too ;)

Oh well

SusiS · 08/02/2005 15:25

but at least a nice new kitchen
what color is it btw?

Prufrock · 08/02/2005 15:50

Congrats Susi. Having 2 is easy - at least I thought it was - compared to having one toddler and the pregnancy from hell.

We have a birthday concentration too - me on 25th April, Ds on 27th, then my Dad on May 2nd and DD on May 8th. I feel sorry fro my DH -he has 3 Taureans to live with.

We have had a terrible couple of days, Ds's cold has returned with a vengeance, and he's teething really badly - huge anounts ofsnot and dribble. Last night he only woke at 5.30 and then at 6.15, but the night before he woke at 11.30 and from tehn on only slept fo 20 mins at atiem on our chests. DH was no bloody use - at about 3am he had jsut taken over cuddling duty but ds was crying his eyes out. I was getting a bit stressed (having been up since 11.30) Dh said "tell me what to do and I'lldo it"!!!. Ooh old on a sec, let me just consult the instruction book - Oh yes here it is " What to do when baby won't stop crying" I wish Men.....

But at least dd is being a darling - she keeps on bringing tissues for him and helps me to rub calrub into his chest.

kate79 · 08/02/2005 16:20

FINALLY!!!
at my parents today so i can write a post (for some unknown reason everytime a thread goes over 200 posts i can't add a post, it just crashes !!!)
DS has just made fallen asleep infront of pingu thank god!! he's got a bad cold and his cough is awful , but just incase i wasn't worried enough my mum has said it sounds like croup !!great, thanks mum!! (it isn't )

hip scan (for clicky hip) was inconclusive !!! have to go again in a something to do with muscle and tissue growing all the time. really unclear about what they said.

my mum is over my shoulder going on about how she wished she had a mumsnet 30 years ago blah blah .... and asking me when you all are . so come then lets have a roll call
might as well cut and paste the list for ech new name

last post from me was a prime example of why it is a good idea to preview a message before posting.

Libb · 08/02/2005 16:42

Oh Kate, I don't think you have seen me in proper action yet! Then you will witness the full monty of bad/incorrect/downright silly postings!

I am currently in Suffolk but could be back in Cambridge soon.
