Oooggs, good luck tomorrow. Hope you are feeling better.

We are, well dh is trying to paint B's room while she is away. We have bought her a desk, chair and bookcase for her room, plus a new pink lampshade, duvet cover and pink blackout blind. Hope she likes it

Feel a bit strange about something. I will probably be told I should count my blessings, but here goes.

Mil and fil have turned one of their spare rooms in to B's room on a permanent basis. They have also bought loads of toys etc. I just find it a bit odd. I know they want to make her feel welcome, but I think they have gone overboard. Seriously, they have more kids stuff in their house and B and K are their only grandchildren. I am grateful to them but at the same time feel somehow they need to lighten up.

[sol now goes and digs a hole and buries herself to avoid the abuse].

StealthPolarBear · 15/04/2008 20:59

Oh sol I do kind of swym, it's sweet but a bit overbearing!
Will K be going as well when she's older, will it be their room then?

OP posts:
Sexonlegs · 15/04/2008 21:02

I expect when K is school age she will spend time there too. The room is only a single, so I guess they will put K in there and re-decorate another room for B! She only stays there 2 weeks a year and maybe a couple of weekends throughout the rest of the year.
I know they mean well, but it seems a bit obsessive.

NorthernLurker · 15/04/2008 21:13

sounds like a manifestation of empty nest syndrome to me! I think it's perfectly fine of you to think it's a bit OTT. It is - but it seems pretty harmless - and I actually think it's a lot more about them than it is B and K iyswim.

Sexonlegs · 15/04/2008 21:25

NL, you are such a wise young bird You have hit the nail on the head. I also wonder if it is because mil has 2 boys (dh and bil) and now is going a bit mad with 2 grand-daughters - all is pink! B's room there is garishly so!!

fil just called to say B has been great today. She has asked for me a few times, but no crying. Brought tears to my eyes hearing that.

It is lovely though to have time away from her. She is incredibly demanding - everyone says so, it isn't just me!

Feeling yucky. Started vomiting 9pm last night and was still at it at 10am this morning. Took day off and have slept a lot. Eaten very little but still feel like I could puke anytime. G went to nursery as normal. Dh is in Edinburgh for the next 2 nights so please send sleepy vibes to my little man.

Good news on move. 99% that it will be Monday and Tuesday next week. So relieved that we'll all be in the same town.

Apologies for lack of personals. Hopefully I can get caught up tomorrow when I feel better (please let me feel better tomorrow)

Goodnight.

SOL from everything you have said about B&K I get the impression they are so different personality wise (but both lovable!). Amazing how much you can learn about someone else's children from words on a screen

elkiedee · 15/04/2008 21:42

Well, that was an exciting read, thanks Octo, but sorry we haven't got another baby coming yet.

elkiedee · 15/04/2008 21:45

Hope you feel better soon Leaky - I take it it's likely to be a busy weekend packing? Hope it all goes well.

Sexonlegs · 15/04/2008 21:50

SPB, they are incredibly different. I don't know if that will change! I imagine K will grow up to be a monkey

They are also both very loveable. B is quite wild, but she is calming with age and can be incredibly loving, caring and gentle.

K is just the most contented baby I have ever come across.

Feel all teary with pride at my lovely girls!

Doobydoo · 15/04/2008 22:02

I have to go to bed now.I lost the run of meself earlier
I really hope people start to feel better soon.
I shall be back with Necker news...when I have researched it
Night all.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

StealthPolarBear · 15/04/2008 22:03

could you be pregnant?

OP posts:
Bramshott · 15/04/2008 22:11

Somebody must be pg - I can't take the suspense?!? Sorry it wasn't you Octo, if that's what you wanted.

Now I have time but no brain! Hope everyone (big and small) who's ill is on the mend.

Really enjoying this holiday and don't want DD1 to go back to school next week . We've had a lovely time catching up with friends, doing house and garden stuff and just pottering around. Can't believe there are only 3 days left before the weekend.

Eddas · 15/04/2008 22:12

you lot make me laugh we are desperate for someone to get pg Won't be me

Still can't believe how many people are poorly

I was soooooooooooo bored at work today

StealthPolarBear · 15/04/2008 22:13

I think T is pregnant - he has been sick the last few mornings

OP posts:
Bramshott · 15/04/2008 22:14

StealthPolarBear · 15/04/2008 22:19

In 9 months I will have T and mini T - aaaargh

OP posts:
Bramshott · 15/04/2008 22:27

Maybe if you get pg again SPB, T can have the morning sickness for you?!

Right, off to bed. DD1 still awake and DH already gone up because the poor love is not on holiday like me and the DDs . No fun though as I have thrush .

And on that definitely TMI note, I'll love you and leave you ladies

StealthPolarBear · 15/04/2008 22:29

Hello all,

Looks like I've missed all the drama this evening.

Have just been reading the Eris thread and crying my eyes out. What a beautiful picture.

Off to bed now early start in the morning for Jake's grommets. I'm sure it will be fine, but as you all appreciate us Mummys worry anyway.

Back tomorrow I expect, sorry for no personals.

Night xx
