hi all

can someone explain on my son's behalf why he needed to eat at 10.30, 12.30, 3.45 and 5.30, then have tummy ache at 6 so yell me awake again?

frag, get your version of events in with hr quick.

hoping to bf until between 6-8 months depending on how weaning goes.

am on tenterhooks waiting for passports today, supposed to travel tomorrow!

typing one handed, little boy won't play alone

madmouse · 22/05/2008 10:34

well i can explain the tummy achebit myself of course gannet

susiemj · 22/05/2008 14:27

Hello ladies,

Home again! Things got slightly better but not the best ever trip. I guess some people just don't 'get' babies. In my opinion you have to spemd time getting to know them, just like anyone else, but it seems that to some they're 'just' babies.

Can I ask, what's the first thing your baby does when they wake up. Sabela meeps a bit and then stretches, but almost always she cries very soon. Is this normal?

AngeChica · 22/05/2008 15:21

Well susie, Alek invariably farts on waking!

If no -one around his cry is pure attention seeking.

Naetha · 22/05/2008 15:40

First thing Ben always does (unless he's in his push chair or car seat) is flip over onto his front

Woke up this morning to find him asleep on his front...was a little worried, but glad he's sleeping better

Fragolina · 22/05/2008 16:21

Tana usually sucks on her hands for a bit, stretches, chatters to her mobile and then starts bellowing if no-one comes.

lilyloo · 22/05/2008 19:36

Martha usually making rasberry noises she loves doing this yesterday dp thought she had been sick on herself but it was spit all over her chin as she had spent ten min blowing rasberries
Well MM i had terrible night too , she had her best ever sleep 7 - 11.30 but then didn't settle until 12.30 at which time i went to bed and then up at 2 , 4 and massive poo at 5 followed by rasberrys
Frag i hoping to bf as long as pos as i am really enjoying it and as she my last i want to savour the moment, thinking of a year until she can go on cows milk. Although mutterings of formula off dp about her poor sleeping!

Hello ladies, long time no post!! I do often pop in and read your posts but by the time I'veread everything I have forgotten who said what and feel like I'll be saying the wrong things to the wrong people! still have baby brain!

Glad to hear all the babies doing well and v envious of all the sleeping through that's going on! Charlie still waking at least once in the night, goes down at 7ish then feeds again at about 3 and 6. He usually goes back to sleep after the feed at 6 til about 8 though so could be worse. Not too bothered really though, they all manage it in the end!

Charlie is 22 weeks now and i stopped BFing about 3 weeks ago as my supply had really dwindled. Still not weaning and decided to wait til 6 months. Started DD at about 5 months and she never really ate anything til she was about 9 months. Found it all a massive faff and didn't help her to sleep through. Besides despite the fact that Charlie is massive (nearly grown out of his 6-9 month stuff he still doesn't finish an 8oz bottle so reckon he can't be that hungry.

Been doing a bit of freelance work for the magazine I work for which has been fun (not officially back until October). DH had Charlie and I found it much easier to leave him than I thought I would. He still sleeps a lot in the day (about 6 hours) so reckoned he's only have a few hours awake without me.

Barristermum, saw that you had gone back to work. Is it getting any easier yet? I hope so, i found it much harder leaving DD when i went back after her.

Ginge - sorry to hear about step sons wedding. Hope DH and DSS manage to sort it out.

Madmouse - Nathan sounds like he's coming on brilliantly. When do you next take him back to consultant?
Good luck with the trip.

Susie, sorry trip not good at least you can vent on here

Nicky & Bluebell - am very impresssed at thinking about TTC so soon! 2 of my friends have a 13 month gap between theirs and although it was hard when they were tiny their kids play brilliantly together now.

Amani, how is DD2 now? Hope ear better!

Filly, how is DH doing since losing FIL? Hope you're all ok.

Lucky, you obviously need to kick ass more often glad DP being lovely. I've got mine doing night feeds, hurrah!

Big wave to Lily, Frag, Justkeepswimming, Naetha, AngeChica, Awen, Mixedmama and anybody else I have forgotten!
ps anybody ever wonder what happened to the others from our ante natal thread? Funny that Mrsmc never posts after being such a star poster before! Hope they're all ok

LuckySalem · 22/05/2008 20:42

Well we're having a wierd day today. Aaliyah is being really wingey. I think her teeth are really starting to hurt her now. She's slept loads today as well.

She spent a few hours with her great nan (dad's mum) today while me and DP went to the cinema to watch indiana jones (I wouldn't recommend it) it was really nice to have a few hours but I felt really guilty afterwards. lol

DP is in bed - we all went for a kip at 3 (me and DD got up at 5) but I can't get him to get up so am thinking of going to bed myself in a minute. Gonna give aaliyah a bottle before bed though as her last bottle was 5 and i'm pretty sure she'll wake in the night on that.

madmouse · 22/05/2008 21:15

What Nathan does depends on whether he is hungry. If he is hungry he starts making grunting sounds involving much face rubbing. If it is 7.15 he wakes up (he has that bit of his routine sussed )not hungry he will yell within seconds!

I AM VERY UPSET
NO PASSPORTS!

Spent ages on the phone, in tears trying to explain that we are not going on a nice holiday. The passport has been made (yesterday) but is not yet on the courier's system. WTF it is supposed to be a guaranteed one week service. At the moment they cannot even tell whether it will come tomorrow or Saturday. Can't believe it.

At the moment a lovely lady is calling the courier regularly to see if Nathan's passport is in th batch that they have just received. It better be.

I could not stop crying afterwards. I am trying to take care of Nathan, dh, his mum, everyone, run around like mad trying to sort it all out and then this happens. Feeling flat.

Sorry, rant over

Night everyone

LuckySalem · 22/05/2008 21:20

MM - I can't believe they are messing you about so much, I know these aren't really condoned by MN but {{{hugs}}}

Ooops

LuckySalem · 22/05/2008 21:23

Ladies - is anyone else having trouble with their backs and hips etc? I'm having real bad pains. My groin muscle keeps pulling even though I am doing the slightest thing (like stepping over the cat today) Originally it was just my groin muscle but now I'm getting a bad back everyime I pull it.

lilyloo · 22/05/2008 21:23

oh dear mm what a nightmare , fingers crossed it's here tommorrow
Lucky i was thinking i should be in bed now like you were doing as this is Martha's best sleep but glad to see you still on here like me

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 22/05/2008 21:28

Yeh I gave up the thoughts of going to bed. Even though I know Aaliyah will be up again at 5:30! Just don't feel sleepy - maybe I shouldn't have any afternoon kips anymore.

lilyloo · 22/05/2008 21:30

i feel knackered but can't be bothered to get off here and go to bed, i will regret this at 1 / 3 / 5 though

OP posts:
LuckySalem · 22/05/2008 21:31

Yeh I know but its all the way up those stairs and then i've gotta get DP to move over. it's just sooo much effort.

lilyloo · 22/05/2008 21:34
