DKMA I didn't know you were on thyroxine. I am too, but only since DD. How's it working out for you? I'm only on the lowest dose, I think they need to up it but they didn't last time.

Holly, you a scrubs fan by any chance?

DKMA · 29/02/2008 21:30

Love that wallpaper too

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 29/02/2008 21:31

Yeah bumper, how did you guess? I fricking love scrubs!

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 29/02/2008 21:31

oh no what a pita

DKMA · 29/02/2008 21:34

Bumper - I am on 100mgs of thyroxine - and have only been on it since Nov (prob as result of pregnancy).
I am losing weight (at last) and am able to have a good workout in the gym (with a normal heart rate - which is nice!)
Everytime I feel a bit crap - I get another blood test done (and I really do have to be feeling crap because I freak out with needles!!)
What dose do you take? How are you feeling?

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 29/02/2008 21:35

Well, at least they've paid! WooHoo £300 towards the Mac fund!

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 29/02/2008 21:35

congrats on the promotion dkma you should be chuffed try spatone for the iron I took it when I was pregnant and it is much more palatable than iron tablets and no constipation I bought mine in boots

have just been in and given lo a small feed hope it stays down

he has the light shade as well holly

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 29/02/2008 21:36

i missed the nunsnet reference earlier. Lolling at the name changes.

Would change but my head is exploding with nappy listings and I can't think of anything.

LOL foxy.....my will to live is fast seeping away anyway; by the time the bub arrives I'll be a cabbage.

DHs mate suggested earlier that it could, given my age, be fricking twins. If it is I'll be shooting myself after my first scan!!

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 29/02/2008 21:38

oh, good on the promotion DKMA. I take it you are enjoying being back at work then?

I hope the thyroid and iron levels get sorted out soon., or is the thyroid thing something you had prior to DS? Your DS is gorgeous btw, he always looks so cheeky in his photos

SisterSputnik · 29/02/2008 21:39

Does the likelihood of twins increase as you get older then?

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 29/02/2008 21:41

yes it does as your ovaries kick out more eggs as they age
I know this sputnik due to extensive research follwong mammoth 4 year effort to conceive ds2

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 29/02/2008 21:44

Yep, he older you are the more likely twins are. Good job I had babies young as there are twins in my family!

DKMA · 29/02/2008 21:44

Thanks Daisy! He is a 'very happy chappy' as all the ladies in his nursery say!

I have been checking out all the brill photo's on FB and can't believe how fast they have all grown up!!!!

Only had thyroid problem since ds (think it started during pregnancy but didn't get diagnosed until after)

Think I'll get some Spatone then! Just don't want to get all bunged up!

Promotion is very cool except the peeps at work seem to think my brain capacity is the same as it was prior to having ds - I haven't yet admitted that I am sure my IQ has halved!!!

DKMA · 29/02/2008 21:45

Daisy - TWINS -

SisterSputnik · 29/02/2008 21:46

You got away with it though! Me too, it seems.

andiemustlosehalfastonemore · 29/02/2008 21:48

sputnik ds2 was ivf in the end so chance of twins was 25% dh was pooping himself

thisisRialifebaby · 29/02/2008 21:51

hello. can I come back? please.

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 29/02/2008 21:51

I know twins must be hard work, but it must also be loads of fun (I think)!

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 29/02/2008 21:52

RIA!!! Bloody hell, you are you? You've been much missed!

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 29/02/2008 21:52

I got over excited there, I meant "How are you?"! DOH!

DKMA · 29/02/2008 21:54

Hi Ria!!

SisterSputnik · 29/02/2008 21:56

When I had my 21 week scan the couple ahead of us were told they were having twins. For some reason she must've missed the 12 week scan. They came out looking shell-shocked.

BumperliciousNeedsaGlassofWine · 29/02/2008 21:56

I heart scrubs Holly!

DKMA, I am on 25 mg, been on it probably since around the same time as you. First I was overactive (v briefly and didn't lose any fricking weight!) then quickly went underactive.

For me it is a result of autoimmune thyroid disease which my mum has (antibodies in my bloodstream attack thyroid gland). Last blood test dr said it was more normal but at the low (high? I can never work out which) end of normal. Still feeling pretty knackered even after 8 hours sleep. Going to go back soon and will get them to do a full blood work. I hate needles too, but after being Rh neg in pg I have gotten used to them (a little bit - can't look though!).

Glad work is going so well for you.

Daisy - twins . We have twins in my family. My grandma had 2 sets. Better think about the next one sooner rather than later

Sputnik, are you done baby making?

LardyMardyDaisyBoo · 29/02/2008 21:57

Hi Ria

What have you been up to then.....having a Rial Life?

HollyPutTheHabitOn · 29/02/2008 21:58
