Hi Dippy Hope you have a good time with your friend

Eddas · 11/02/2008 10:21

SPB, it's chocolate brown on one wall and a light beigey colour on the other 3. SO nice that it's not yellow I Like yellow but the old owners had it in pretty much every room so i've now gone off it for some reason

Hi maveta, 'normal life' what's that

CD, have you not been well? When is it you're coming to wonderful Maidstone? Need to put it in my ever-so busy diary

oooggs · 11/02/2008 10:28

photos soon then eddas & runny

think we could be extending the house into the loft, have had quotes and even though we can't afford it as in a tied mortgage at the mo and don't want to borrow anymore we are doing it in stages!!!!!!

so this week the building & architect should be calling to come and take measurements [woo hoo]

elkiedee · 11/02/2008 10:39

Ooh, that's so annoying SPB, have they turned up yet.

This weekend has gone way too fast, we have to go home this afternoon

StealthPolarBear · 11/02/2008 10:50

theyre here, place upside doiwn but itll soon be over
right off out to escaope mayhem

Pesha · 11/02/2008 10:51

YAY to diy being finished/nearly finished!!

Eddas - I have chocolate brown on one wall and have the beigey type paint to go on the other 2!! Although the brown needs another coat really. Have had the paint since pre pg and did the 1 wall while pg but not been bothered managed to fit it in since! I also started paintinfg my hallway about 3 years ago and still havent finished it! Its so hard to find a time when the dc arent going to be around to get covered in paint and I've got the time and energy. And I cant trust dp to do it because hes a bodge it 'that'll do' type of guy whereas I want it done nicely strangely enough!! Also need to do kitchen, bathroom, downstairs loo and boy's bedroom so not much really

Oooggs - extension sounds very exciting!!

SPB - very annoying re your men not turning up

Morning everyone else

Baby now whinging and I have phone calls to make although can only remember what one of them is

Pesha · 11/02/2008 10:52

SPB - very that you're men have turned up!!

Pesha · 11/02/2008 11:07

Just phoned for new application form, was busy last week and dont like to ring when dc are around being noisy. Hadnt rushed as closing date was 29th feb, or so it said on the jobcentre site but turns out they've already given the job to someone else

And does anyone remember the big ranty email I sent round ages ago about a certain someone and criminal activities?! Same person has just got a job in accounts and admin Pretty sure they cant know.

CaptainDippy · 11/02/2008 11:31

Oh Pesha, what an arse, I am sorry honey. xx

LOADS to do on our house and no money to do it either, Eddas! Erm, was planning on visiting lovely Maidstone on Fridays 29th Feb and 7th March - sound good!!!? You can always email me! Dreading DH going on these courses, trying not to think about it too much ......

Maveta · 11/02/2008 11:45

Oh what a pain pesha

does anyone know what stores sell doidy cups? Any big nationwde ones? Was about to order a couple more as my mum wants one for N and he'll need one to leave at nursery but they want to charge me 7 quid for the cups and 4 quid delivery! for delivery to UK!

can ask my sis to go buy them for me but don't know where to send her...??

Maveta · 11/02/2008 11:50

also, my very closest friend has had an early miscarriage, it would have been her 2nd and they've had some problems this time round so she's quite upset. I want to send her one of my all time fave books (because I've always meant to give it to her and never got around to it) "sister of my heart". It's been a long time since I read it but I do remember one of the characters has trouble getting pregnant and may lose a baby at some point. This is only one of many storylines in a lovely, moving story about these 2 women. I can't remember how big a deal is made of it in the book.

Given that, should I hold off sending it and give her something else instead? Or am I being overly sensitive and reading too much into it??

Pesha · 11/02/2008 11:51

No idea I'm afraid maveta but I would have thought most independant nursery shops have them if theres one of them near your sister?

Have found another not so good job to apply for. What do I put in a covering letter? Just a quick sum up of which of my skills fit what they're asking for? Has been so long since I had to do any of this! Even the jobs I have had have been forms or phone applications.

Oh and SOL - in which bit of my cv should I put what computer things I've used? Will email you I think!

Maveta · 11/02/2008 11:56

Pesha I put computer skills under their own heading. Or you could put it under 'other experience' or 'additional information' etc etc

I hate writing covering letters, I guess yeah, use it as an opportunity to draw their attention to the jobs/tasks that are going to be relevant to their position..

PillockOfTheCommunity · 11/02/2008 11:58

Doidy cups - can get them online - we did for Matthew - will find a link later xx

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 11/02/2008 12:29

pesha about the job, can they do that?
Covering letters, I always make my CV relevant to the job, my covering letter is usually along the lines of "Please find enclosed my application for...I am currently employed as a ... and " Kind of an executive summary for the CV iyswim!
Maveta, sorry can't seem to find anywhere that does doidy cups - mothercare and woolworth were the 2 I thought of, and don't seem to

Maveta · 11/02/2008 12:31

oi! I heard that!
