Feck, feck, Had a phone call today from bf! She's asked me to be Godmother for her 4mth! How exciting!! Scared though, what will I wear? still too fat!! Anyone got a tent I could wear? can't loose enough weight in 4 weeks, feck what do I buy as a gift..... ooooooooooo not good at this sort of thing.

Even though I'm scared I'm so happy she's asked me, and has arranged it for whilst we are in the UK in April!

Help

Charlie you are amazing a huge big well done on your weight loss.

Mrsjaffabiffa · 03/03/2008 20:15

how about this outfit? It's Gautier ya know! Bit too over the top for a Christening?

AprilMeadow · 03/03/2008 20:38

Just seen on Facebook that Creena is pg!! Have told her to come over and give all the detials

Awww MrsJB how lovely. pfft tent, i dont think so! Am thinking that outfit might not be dressy enough

FurtivelyPosting · 03/03/2008 20:55

Hullo you lot! AprilMeadow is indeed right - I am up of the duff.

It's very early days yet; I'm just 5 weeks tomorrow with an EDD of 4th November. I'm going through that constantly worrying phase, mainly because I don't have any strong symptoms (not like last time - maybe that's a good thing) but fingers crossed that it's a sticky one.

I'm going to try to read through this thread now and try to catch up with you guys (or should I say gasbags! )

juliewoolie · 03/03/2008 21:11

welliesandjam · 03/03/2008 21:26

trying a new name, in honour of my soon to be lifestyle.

elkiedee · 03/03/2008 21:42

TYG, sorry to hear your dd1 and dh were useless at Mother's Day. Hope you enjoy the posh new bedding though.

I've told dp I expect two Easter eggs this year, as I didn't get one last year - I couldn't have eaten it at the time but am sure I hinted that I'd like one to save until after the birth.

JW, I'd like some tips on how you ignore the 5.30 am wake up, D is unignorable. But I suppose you're organised enough to have got him into his own room, let's hope that helps us.

largeginandtonic · 04/03/2008 07:34

confused??? Why cngrats SOH?

TYG horrified on your behalf at numpty dh and thoughtless dd. How very dare they. I hope you feel a bit better now, have they made it up to you? Guutted you wont make it to the meet, can you not just ignore 24hrs of jet lag No?

JW i like the name and am glad to see you are still partying hard I hope you can make it to the meet.

MrsJB how exciting, i have 6 God Children, mostly due to me nicking peoples babies and claiming them for my own when i was younger. I used to stalk befriend new mommies and borrow the babies for the weekend. They were so grateful i used to think how on Earth could you let me borrow your lovely baby. Hehe, how little i knew. Wish i had a 14 year old living next door to me now

Creena huge congratulations to you, a lovely November baby How utterly fantastic. Come and post all the details please. I did a dodgy round up just the other week so that should save you trawling the pages too.

I had a better nights sleep, the pox boy is almost back to normal and the baby is getting a damn good ignoring (like you JW )

Now this is my last day in the house, i am OUT tomorrow and NOTHING is going to stop me, d'ya hear me???

TillyScoutsmum · 04/03/2008 09:45

Hello all

Took T to be weighed yesterday and she is 25.2lb - the big chunk Does she get the BIFTA in the female category ?

Glad most of you had good mother's days. (TYG - 12 year olds and men are both renowned to be thoughtless sods. Hope they've made it up to you.)

Mrs JB - congrats on being godmother. I'm with JW/Wellies - am obviously too much of a heathen to be gm. Love looking for dresses/outfits. Maybe stick a post on style and beauty and see what ideas the lovely mnetters come up with.

Scoot - editors are brill. saw them at a student gig a few years ago before they were famous and they are great live.

Megg - your dc's are absolutely gorgeous. I love looking at profile pics as well... such a nosey bird

LG&T - glad the pox are finally clearing up. Tomorrow, LG&T will be leaving the building....

my mother's day was ok - nice card and money to get some new jeans. Dp also agreed to do all baby chores all day (nappies, feeding, bottles etc.) and I would be free to just play and give cuddles (bit of a role reversal ). Lovely thought but he unfortunately downed too many glasses of red on saturday night so was hungover. He still did everything but I had to keep asking and he looked like someone who was about to tackle re-painting of the Forth bridge with a bloody pastry brush . Sort of defeated the object. Hey ho

I'm supposed to be going to baby music class for the first time tomorrow (in my bid to actually get out of the house and do something). Til has a horrible cold (again) and last night was really bad (about 3 hours sleep) so not sure whether we'll make it there or not . Can't imagine taking a snotty miserable baby there for the first time will exactly help me to make friends...

Oh . and - we've finally booked our wedding . Lots of dress looking etc going on.

Pebblemum · 04/03/2008 10:12

OOh Tilly Im so jealous, I loved all the prep for my wedding, would love to do it all again. Second time around though I would remember to eat on the day, I didnt the first time and ended up getting slightly drunk and passing out on dh as soon as we got in bed (after id warned dh that if he did that I would kill him)

Congratulations Creena

Ive got another morning waiting for the postman. Was expecting to hear what senior school JOrdan has got in yesterday but all I got was junk mail so hopefully today will be the day. Im not holding out much hope of him getting his first choice, apparantly they want everyone to go to the school in their catchment

largeginandtonic · 04/03/2008 10:37

Tilly how exciting! What are you planning on wearing? Give us all the deatails

Pebble hope you hear soon

TillyScoutsmum · 04/03/2008 10:56

I haven't had much chance to look for me yet... My dsd is in her princess phase and is obsessed with being a bridesmaid so most of the looking so far has been for her . Took her to BhS and Debenhams on Saturday and she was in absolute heaven.

We're getting married here in November.

Think I will probably have a bridesmaid dress rather than a "proper" wedding dress iyswim. Trying to keep it informal and not too OTT - we've both done the big white wedding thing. So far like this and this. Not sure of colours etc yet though

Sorry - you did ask !

Pebblemum · 04/03/2008 11:08

Oh well looks like im going to have to appeal, he got his 2nd choice but he doesnt want to go there, I only really put it down because I thought I had to have 2 choices, now I wish Id just put the one down. It appears no one got their first choice and we are all a bit annoyed to say the least. I know they only have a limited number of places but for no one to get what they wanted seems strange.

Oh bugger

jaminmywellies · 04/03/2008 11:18

tilly love the gun metal one.

Am requesting the catalogue for that website beautiful dresses. I have 3 weddings to go to this Summer. Have also ordered the new Davina DVD apparantly its brilliant.

Meant to say yesterday Meggle your children are absoloutly gorgeous.

DP just phoned me to say a breeder has for sale the dog that we want, would it be absoloutly ridicul-arse to get the puppy while we are still in the flat? Crawling wannabe stuntman baby and a puppy in central London.

Pebble have you found out yet about school?

LG&T so glad you had a better night.

Mountains of ironing calling..

jaminmywellies · 04/03/2008 11:19

sorry xpost pebble, bugger appeal there is no harm in giving it a go.

largeginandtonic · 04/03/2008 11:35

Oh Tilly they are lovely! The venue is rather fab too. Am very

Pebble sorry to hear about the school, appeal may be the way to go but dont hold out much hope. I am having a nightmare with schools, i could not get the dc in to ANY of the 3 local schools when we moved here. DD is in one now and the other 3 are on a waiting list. I had to put them in to schools out of catchment. So infuriating. When i requested a place and they refuse they have to give you the stats on who is in the school. It was shocking to discover that well over half the children in the school did not actually live in catchment!

Bad subject for me i'm afraid. Lets go back to weddings

Pebblemum · 04/03/2008 12:08

Well I have filled out the appeal form and included a letter explaining why I want him to go to the school we chose as his first choice ie to get away from the kids that have made his life hell. I doubt it will make much difference but its worth a shot. Ive also filled out the waiting list form for the school we want and accepted the place he was given (dont have a choice ) My neighbour is dropping the forms into the schools now as I type and the appeal form is being posted on the way to E's pre-school. No point hanging around, it will take 6wks before we hear anything from the appeal so we will be in limbo again, just hope it turns out ok. Am not looking forward to giving J the -bad- good news

Will take a look at your dresses in a minute Tilly, had better feed the kids first lol

Pebblemum · 04/03/2008 12:36

oops meant bad

Pebblemum · 04/03/2008 14:17

Right had a look at the dresses and have to agree with JW, the gunmetal one is gorgeous, love the colour too

TillyScoutsmum · 04/03/2008 14:39

Pebble - sorry you're having probs with school. Fingers crossed the appeal will work

JW - Will be very if you get a dog. I love them but dp isn't having any of it until T is older . What sort of dog is it ?

Thanks for the comments. I love the gunmetal one as well. Just a bit worried about how "forgiving" satin will be on all my lumps and bumps. Diet starts tomorrow (just as soon as I've eaten these yummy butter loaded crumpets and the fresh cream strawberry tart from the fridge )

I've stupidly been looking at some "proper" wedding dresses on t'internet and there are some lovely ones. MUST STOP LOOKING NOW

Pebblemum · 04/03/2008 15:14

There are some lovely dresses around and some arent that expensive either. I bought mine in a sale (well theres a suprise lol) and it still cost £395. Now when i see some of the dresses around for the same sort of price Im quite shocked.

I love weddings, maybe thats where my future career lies

Pebblemum · 04/03/2008 15:16

Meant to say the venue looks gorgeous. Thats the type of place my next wedding will be at

TillyScoutsmum · 04/03/2008 15:19

I love weddings but this will be my third - not just because I love weddings you understand - just because I have made some monumental f*ck ups and ended up marrying complete arses. I would just feel a bit of a fraud wearing a "wedding dress" this time

this is gorgeous though

I must admit, if I won the lottery, I would love to open a wedding shop or be a wedding planner. Will rope you in as my partner

mom2latinoboys · 04/03/2008 15:34

Creena congratulations!!

Tilly--I love the dress you just posted it is gorgeous. Makes me wish I took a more active role in my wedding. I just told my mom and sister to do whatever they wanted. Oh to be 23 again.

Pebble--sorry to hear about the school issues.

Nothing new to report over here. I am biting my nails nervously to find out how the Ohio and Texas primaries are going because I don't want my girl Hillary to drop out.
