Morning pillock

mammyjo · 01/01/2008 11:11

CD, post away, may be just what I need today!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 01/01/2008 11:16

If you've got the house to yourself today, ENJOY IT! Make the most of it, pamper and relax yourself. Then when dh and the children return you'll be in a much better mindset to deal with it

(or I could send you my children???? )

Nice offer but no thanks Am off now to have a quiet shower. They wont be out all day, but maybe for another hour or so. Agree, I should be making the most of it, not sitting here dwelling on my own misery!!

NorthernLurker · 01/01/2008 11:30

I say post away CD - but you'd probably guessed that I would

I have told M I don't want to see him. He has sat on his bed and wet himself, deliberately, after taking his night nappy off

weeonion · 01/01/2008 11:38

good morning folks - and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

quiet night here. turned our phones to mute last night - v v funny to play back the answering machine messages this a.m and hear all the whispered messages from drunken friends & family trying not to wake the baby!

C got a box of pressies yesterday - all patch princess clothes. v v v lovely but as they are size 6-9mths - she wont be at enough parties to wear them!!

what are you all up to today - apart from the usual baby / dc related stuff??

oh - spb - i meant to say that a friens wee girl does a similar thing with holding her breath. any surprise made her do it - even water on her face. the hospital sent them on an infant resus course and also a programme to get the baby used to shocks. she seems to have really grwon out of it tho in the past couple of months. fingers crossed T is the same. x

ellesbelles · 01/01/2008 11:50

Happy New Year to everyone!!

Quiet time here too - not much excitement at all. But nice not to wake up with the usual New Year's Day hangover I suppose.

Planned on going out for a big long walk with AA in the sling, but just noticed it is teeming down outside! I was hoping for a nice bright forsty day - love those. might just go out anyway.

What is everyone else planning?

CaptainDippy · 01/01/2008 11:56

OK - here goes ..... hope it uplifts some of you

BLESSED BE YOUR NAME
In the land that is plentiful,
Where Your streams of abundance flow,
Blessed be Your name.
And blessed be Your name
When I'm found in the desert place,
Though I walk through the wilderness,
Blessed be Your name.

Every blessing You pour out I'll
Turn back to praise.
When the darkness closes in, Lord,
Still I will say:

Blessed be the name of the Lord,
Blessed be Your name.
Blessed be the name of the Lord,
Blessed be Your glorious name.

Blessed be Your name
When the sun's shining down on me,
When the world's 'all as it should be',
Blessed be Your name.
And blessed be Your name
On the road marked with suffering,
Though there's pain in the offering,
Blessed be Your name.

You give and take away,
You give and take away.
My heart will choose to say:
Lord, blessed be Your name.

Haven´t caught up yet, hope you all had a nice night. We went for dinner at a friend´s house in town and managed to wangle a free hotel room through a rather nice hotel we work with a lot for work which was great! Was a nice but pretty tame night, I just couldn´t wait to get back to the hotel and into bed! lol. Mum and Dad had N and say he slept 8pm-2am and then 2.30-9am!!! What´s all THAT about??! Although this morning I called to say we were 20mins away and they said he had refused his bottle and didn´t seem hungry, so I said great, hold on cos I´ll be there and can feed him (boobs like rocks!). Arrive within 20mins and Mum says "oh, he´s just finished his porridge" "oh, why, was he crying?", Mum - "um, no, just thought I´d feed him"

I feel so frustrated that she keeps doing things like this. I know it seems like nothing and of course the favour they did us was fantastic and wonderful but I just don´t know what to think when she blatantly ignores very specific requests from me... you know? Was really when I got home, dh was staying well out of my path .

Quick thing I glanced at GMM - now that C is on formula, how many bottles do you give and when?

Ok, will try and catch up later but now off for a brisk winter walk in the sun.

HAPPY 2008 EVERYONE!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 01/01/2008 12:20

Maveta it's totally understandable that you are angry, I would be too. It's one thing if he's crying, but to completely ignore what you'd said

Mothers eh?

NorthernLurker · 01/01/2008 12:23

Octo · 01/01/2008 12:37

Oooggs - really sorry to hear your news - thinking of youxxxxxxxxxxxx May be down on the 19th if you want to meet up x

WCL - am coming over the Mall on 9th January if you want to meet for a coffee xxx

CaptainDippy · 01/01/2008 12:54

Makes me cry too - Sigh @ your mum, Mav - wonderful to get away thouh, eh!!? My parents / outlaws would NEVER have a baby who didn't sleep through the night overnight!! xx

zazas · 01/01/2008 13:12

Happy New Year to you all. Have not really had a chance to catch up with everything, although sort of know what has been happening and my thoughts with all.

Started my New Year this morning at hospital at the emergency dentist with an tooth abscess hoping things will get better.... !

Anyway just wanted to say that I might not post too often but I enjoy reading about your lives and all that they entail - so thank you for letting be be part of it. Here is to a very very happy 2008 for us all.

CaptainDippy · 01/01/2008 13:29

Nice to "see" you Zazas - Happy New Year to you too - ouch ouch ouch to the tooth abcess, poor thing - I've had one and they are agony. xx

Right, off out for walk with feral children .......

mammyjo · 01/01/2008 13:38

Lovely to see you Zazas, hope the tooth is less painful soon xx

Maveta, all I can say is that my mil would do exactly what your mum did. I tried and tried to get her to do the things I had asked when ds was little, and she never listened. I got very frustrated by the whole thing, but now it just goes over my head. She clearly knows better than me on everything and will do what the hell she likes anyway!! Extremely annoying, but sometimes not worth getting stressed over. I learnt that lesson the hard way.

mammyjo · 01/01/2008 13:41

Ok, have picked myself up and now need to sort out some roast dinner - yum! To be fair dh has prepared all the veg before he went out, he is fab really and I feel bad for constantly whinging about him.

Oooggs, hope you are doing ok today. Have been thinking about you a lot xxx

mammyjo · 01/01/2008 13:42

And can someone please tell me how on earth the christmas festivities have gone by so quickly. How has a whole week gone since christmas day? I think my life is passing me by!

geordiemacminxpie · 01/01/2008 14:01

Maveta C probably doesnt have as much milk as he should, but to be honest he's not really interested in it. I read somewhere they are supposed to have at least 24 oz a day?

Er... 7am - usually 4oz
8.30 porridge with milk
9.30 oz or 2 to settle before nap
12 lunch
1.30 oz or 2 to settle before nap
4pm - dinner
6pm porridge with milk
7pm bottle - sometimes 3-4 oz, night before 14oz!!
12pm dream feed - 4-5oz usually

God, now I have written it out it seems like loads... little porker

Sexmasonlegs · 01/01/2008 14:04

Hi all

MJ, sorry to hear you are feeling blue. Huge hugs to you. This time of year is a bit up and down for me I find. Drives dh mad!x

Oooggs, hope you are feeling ok today. x

Maveta, Mothers eh! I don't know what to suggest really. Glad you had a good evening with your dh.

Caz, good on ya girl. So is more sex your New Years Resolution???

I say that every year, much to the anticipation of dh!

Well, dh has taken the girls to the beach, so I am home alone. Bless him - I think he is quite worried that I am getting no better and need to rest before he goes back to work tomorrow. He has instructed me not to do anything! Have cleaned the downstairs loo so far, and they left 10 minutes ago!! Can't help myself. I know I am sad.
