have a good 'break' at work eddas and remember we are only human and am I the shoutest mummy I know but this year I am going to do better

Idreamofchocolate · 02/01/2008 12:22

No, no I am definately the shoutiest mummy. And the most destructive.

Really can't keep up with any of the chat on here, sorry lovely ladies, but just wanted you to know I am having a SHIT morning and I fucking hate Virgin Media with a passion. They have totally fucked up my TV and will neither apologise nor come out and sort it out or return my calls and have charged me £75 for the pleasure of all that. I am fucking a billion times over.

Can anyone recommend Sky at all or are they a bunch of useless tossers too?

(and do I win the prize for being the sweariest mummy?).

AngeG · 02/01/2008 12:28

Hello all

Eddas and Oooggs I know how you feel, I am making an effort to spend more time with Jake. Instead of tidying/cleaning/MN when Izzy is asleep I'm trying to play more games with him and just spend time together.

IDOC - Sorry you're having a sh*t morning, we have Sky and I'm quite happy with them, haven't had any problems with them, but we've only got the tv, not broadband or phone or anything. Hope you sort it out.

I'm afraid you can't win the prize for the sweariest mummy as you haven't heard my language off mn

oooggs · 02/01/2008 12:28

lol IDOC - you have cheered me up by just swearing

so things aren't good - we have Virgin cos Sky were pants down here

see we are normal mummies and often shout

oooggs · 02/01/2008 12:36

hi Ange - well we are all in the same boat then - more time with older dcs (as well as losing weight, toning up etc etc )

AngeG · 02/01/2008 12:36

Yes that's right Oooggs, as well as everything else we have to do!

oooggs · 02/01/2008 12:39

other stuff - no idea what you mean

I am my own worst enemy for things being tidy and put away - can't leave anything

Idreamofchocolate · 02/01/2008 12:55

Oooggs - I am like that too. I swear I have OCD sometimes as I cannot just walk into a room and sit down. I have to tidy stuff up before I can relax. Dh has taken the DCs shopping, and (as well as being shouty with Virgin) I have spent the whole moring so far tidying and washing. I just cannot leave stuff alone. And I'm getting worse. In some ways it's a good thing I'm going back to work next week as I couldn't give a stuff if my workplace is tidy or not.

Maveta · 02/01/2008 13:06

how could I neglect to have mentioned in my earlier post the Most Important Event (so far) of 2008 in the maveta household??! (or did I and I am going insane?)

drum roll please

N slept from 8pm - 7am last night! Not even a dreamfeed, nothing. Taking a leaf from GMMs book I decided to give him some cereal before bed and well.... YYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY! Anyone want to place a bet on it never happening again?

AngeG · 02/01/2008 13:09

Fantastic Maveta
Hope it continues!!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 02/01/2008 13:48

Hi all

Oooggs/Eddas/Ange, ikwym re dc1. B is driving me mad with her incessant talking and her demands for things. Feel like telling her to take a hike which is terrible. She is back to school tomorrow - hurrah!!!!!!

I also need to spend more time with her, but I really struggle. We went to the theatre together before Christmas, which was lovely, but there is always something to whinge about!!

Now doing painting and keeps asking me to look at her painted hands - mmmm interesting!

God I am a bitch!!!!

IDOC, can't help you on the Virgin Media/Sky query - we have neither. Hope you get summat sorted. I love it when you get cross!!

Maveta, fab news on N's good night. So, bulk order of porridge then??

All ok here, apart from B driving me mad. I just want to go shopping!!

Maveta · 02/01/2008 14:57

lol at POTC! Ok so not to completely bludgeon-to-death the whole sharing our routines thing or anything (which although maybe repetitive for everyone else is proving a lifesaver for me!!) does this seem like a reasonable schedule to have him on?

07.00 morning feed
08.30 breakfast
12.00 lunch
16.00 dinner
17.30 afternoon feed
19.00 porridge (the GMM feed )
20.00 bedtime feed

Eddas · 02/01/2008 15:11

looks fine to me Maveta!

don't worry about repeating yourself, i know my 'mummy' brain doesn't remember much these days so i'll never notice, lol

FWIW ds' routine is:

6.30-7.30 - 8oz milk
8.30-9 - porridge/weetabix with cows milk
12 - lunch of some decription!
4.30-5 - diner(ditto of some description!!!!!!)
6-7 - 8oz milk

sometimes he has some 'snacks' ie a banana or rusk in between but that's generally it. HTH

Sexonlegs · 02/01/2008 15:20

We do:

7.30 ish 7 ounces ff and cereal (don't have time for separate breakfast)

12.00 Lunch

2.30 7 ounces ff

5.00 Tea

6.30/7.00 8 ounces ff

HTH

StealthPolarBear · 02/01/2008 15:58

can I ask about poo?
How on earth do you manage to change your nappies? I can't pin t down long enough, even harder with 1 hand have dangly thing above him playing music, give him a toy but he just tries to roll over alll the time and i can barely stop him

Sexonlegs · 02/01/2008 16:08

SPB, I give K something to hold in each hand and she enjoys banging them together while I change her pdq!

StealthPolarBear · 02/01/2008 16:17

I think T just hates lying on his back
and when I said 'your' nappies, I meant your LO's nappies, of course

Eddas · 02/01/2008 16:44

SPB i have the same problem with ds. generally the only way is (as SOL said) do it PDQ! in the morning and evening I do it whilst he has his bottle, which stops him rolling. Other than that it's just asap and hold both legs in one hand whilst wiping with the other! once wiped he normally crawls off whilst i get a nappy then I grab him again and hold him down until it's on!

Another trick which worked with dd is to put the tv on the adverts or a music chanel. Used to mesmerise(really not how that's spelt) her

AngeG · 02/01/2008 17:16

I am an evil wicked Mummy, during pooey nappy changes I sit with my legs either side of Izzy so she cannot roll away and I even remember 'pinning' Jake down with my legs for some nappy changes

However I do find baby wipes packet or some other toy she is isn't normally allowed sometimes works as a distraction.

StealthPolarBear · 02/01/2008 17:46

have tried the legs thing and the pinning but he is stronger than me
Haven't tried naughty toys or the TV, might have to do that, will let you know
Thanks everyone
Back soon I'm sure xx

Maveta · 02/01/2008 17:57

eek! that is all something that still awaits me, N doesn´t crawl so although changes are getting more challenging they´re still not too bad.. sounds hard though!

I´ve just rearranged my freezer and am hoping to sit down later to a heady night of meal planning It´s actually happening.. I´m turning into a Mum! People think it happens as soon as you give birth but it doesn´t. It slowly sneaks up on you over the following months and years...

Sexonlegs · 02/01/2008 18:22

Mav, K isn't crawling either, but rolls around everywhere.

Pmsl at motherhood creeping up on you! It so does!!

Hope you are all well. xx

PillockOfTheCommunity · 02/01/2008 19:00

If meal planning is motherhood then it still hasn't hit me

we still fly by the seat of our pants here!

Ditto to PITA little people and difficult nappy changes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have Double Trouble with DD1 (3.10 yrs) & DD2 (2.8 yrs) - They are both completely different personalities, and I find it soooo hard to please them both all the time - They both drag me to two different directions and demand my attention all the time - They follow me round like little Puppy Dogs, yapping away - Trust me, if shouting was an Olympic sport, I would get a gold medal!!!! To top it all off, DD2 has a very ..... erm .... "challenging" personality so everything is about a thousand time harder when she decides to be in one of her "special" moods. {{{{{hugs}}}}} to all mummies of PITA Little People - every sympathy here - Eddas we should soooooo get otgether again soon - Now I have got my Sat Nav, I reckon I could drive you way sometime soon, what do you reckon!!?

Nappy changes. P is such a wriggler, maaaaaaaaan - I usual give her the wipes to fiddle with and just basically "force" her in to her nappy - cloth bots are infinitely harder to change too, sigh ......
