Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 28/12/2007 21:48

I thought that might be the case - ok - so the situation is - your son has been ill, he needs to stay in his home and his dad can come round and help care for him at a time that is convenient to you because you and your other son have lives to live too.
Sounds reasonable to me - but yes I am biased

CaptainDippy · 28/12/2007 21:55

Yes, very biased; but that doesn't stop me from seeing the situation in a true light - He needs to grow up if you ask me!!!!!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/12/2007 22:06

ok, so how about I suggest he meets us in Stow (where I'm going to meet Cath) and takes J to the library for half an hour before returning him to me?

only problem is, it means me getting us all on a bus by 0955

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 28/12/2007 22:07

That could work - good luck with the bus!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/12/2007 22:08

anyone fancy calling me to make sure I'm out of bed in the morning?

Sexmasonlegs · 28/12/2007 22:16

Hello!

God loads to catch up on!

Elf, what a nightmare for you and dh re T. Hope he is ok now and that you and dh are on better terms. I would echo what others have said- sounds like a knee jerk reaction from your dh through fear. I hate to admit it, but I can be like that at times.

Leaky, sorry to hear your gran is so poorly. Hope that has she some peace soon.

Caz, was so sad to read about your dog passing away.

Eddas, hope you are ok petal - you have sounded like you need some time out.

WO, hope you are ok and now settled back in bonny Scotland.

Pesha, hope D is on the mend.

Ange, hope I's ears are better - sounded v painful. How can you tell if they are perforated btw?

IMBM, stick to your guns re J. V impressed by all this cycling activity!

Big shout out to the lovely Welsh ladies. xx

Oooggs, hope th funeral went ok.

God, I should have written everything down, as loads of you were on and I can't remember anything else. Hope you are all ok.

Well, we got to Devon safely on Sunday and K and I have been poorly all week. Sounds like what D has Pesha - cough, cold, high temperature, sticky eyes, not eating much at all etc. She is on the mend thankfully. I spent the week in bed or in the house - went out once in 5 days as felt and still feel awful. Been to the docs and it is just viral, so told to get on with it until it turns in to pneumonia!! Now B has come down with it!!! And mil!!!!

Inlaws were fab. They had got to the house 2 days earlier and got everything organised - food sorted, decorations up, and I didn't cook once. They have been very kind indeed.

Supposed to be going to my parents tomorrow but have postponed until Sunday.

Sorry for the long post and the moaning, but I cannot remember the last time I have felt this shit for so long!

CaptainDippy · 28/12/2007 22:20

Sorry you've been so poorly SOL Glad you have been looked after thoough. xx

Could work, Pillock - hope you get the bus ok!!

CaptainDippy · 28/12/2007 22:22

DH just got back from cinema with his friend - In my PJs looking well rough!

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/12/2007 22:22

aaaaaaaaaaaargh
why is it not possible to slap someone over the phone?

I just called him, he managed to put a condescending and patronising tone on the word 'ahem'

CaptainDippy · 28/12/2007 22:24

What. A. Total. Arse.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/12/2007 22:27

I will just keep reminding myself that I am the better person for putting up with his shit irritating ways

oh, and have decided I don't give a flying fuck if he's reading this

ElfPolarBear · 28/12/2007 23:16

Things better. DH broke down and said he kept thinking about what could happen, and seeing t's face all blank Anyway
IMBM you are not being awkward, he is expecting to live his life and for you (and J) to jump when he clicks his fingers. Does he even know J has been ill?
SOL, sorry to hear you are still ill, it must be so frustrating to have been under the weather for this long, I bet you just want life to get back to normal
caz, so sorry to hear about your dog Very pleased it was a peaceful end though, and hope the DCs weren't too upset
Hi Dippy, Pesha, NL, anyone else I'm ignoring
Well, off for a bit of a browse, then to bed xx

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/12/2007 23:24

glad dh talked to you Elf, it must have been difficult for him

am quite marvelled actually at me not being far wrong about him, why can I understand virtual men but not have a successful relationship?

ElfPolarBear · 28/12/2007 23:27

You're obviously too accurate and scare them off with your perceptiveness (if that's a word!)
Lurking over, good night

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/12/2007 23:36

no, have sussed it, it's because the men in my past are utter twonks, and your dh obviously isn't

you could tell him I said that, if that didn't mean admitting to your secret vice

CaptainDippy · 28/12/2007 23:39

Glad things are better elf and that managed to talk to your DH. IME men are diffcult to talk to in the extreme. Sigh.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/12/2007 23:43

J has just had another feed, really not feeding properly, too wheezy to manage it.

time for bed now I think, before my early start

CaptainDippy · 28/12/2007 23:44

Poor love Night Pillock, sleep well honey. xx

CaptainDippy · 29/12/2007 00:04

It is tomorrow!!

right, off to bed - DH went to "drop friend back at home", still MIA!

elkiedee · 29/12/2007 00:08

POTC, sorry you're feeling so hassled. You're being totally reasonable, Justin should be sorting out sensible arrangements to see Joe before he plans other stuff. You and both your little ones have other lives to lead too. And J's ill as well.

EPB, hugs to you, sounds like you had some really scary moments and your dh is rubbish at dealing with panic, but you talked, so, hopefully that means you'll find a way through.

SOL, how wretched to be so ill through Christmas.

My little sister has been wretched all week, and now I think both D and I are coming down with more colds, as is my mum.

Sister and I have been trying to list some items on sale on ebay for her but her account keeps kicking her out and I've just searched and none of the listings have gone up. Grrrr. Hope we can sort it out tomorrow before it's time to get the train back to London. I feel out of my depth because it's women's clothes and I've only sold CDs and DVDs, and bought similar plus a few baby clothes.

I don't want to go home!

ElfPolarBear · 29/12/2007 07:16

Hope you're not getting a cold elkie!
Weird about the ebay account, sorry I can't be any help, have only ever sold a couple of things.
I thought it was 8am, how come it's only 7? No wonder I'm tired!

jingleoooggs · 29/12/2007 08:58

good morning we are back!!!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GMM - have a fab day

Katy - hope you are ok

caz - sorry about the dog

Think DH has the Flu Been shivering and mumbling all night - yuk - trying to think of stuff to do to get the little terrors lovelies (0 out of his way ......

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 29/12/2007 09:07

Morning all. Elf, glad you and dh have manageed to have a chat about things. So scary when something is wrong with a little one. Hoping T grows out of the breath holding really soon xxx

IMBM, hope you are up as you need to be getting on the bus soon!!

Caz, sorry to hear about the dog, but maybe a blessing for her if she was old and unhappy. Much easier that way than having to make the decision yourself IYSWIM xxx

Runny, made me laugh that your dh was struggling to manage dinner for the two boys!

SOL, glad you had a good time, but sorry to hear you are poorly again. There are some really nasty virally things around at the moment. Was at MIL's on Boxing day and one of the nieces (4 yo) was coughing and spluttering all over everyone and all over the table covered in food - nice. Am just waiting for one of us to go down with something again, have only just got everyone over it!

Oooggs, hope the funeral went ok xxx

Pesha, how is D today. Hope your night wasnt too awful xxx

Thats it, cant remember any more. May be back later

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 29/12/2007 09:09

Oh yes, Happy Birthday GMM!!

Cd, hope your dh is ok. Man flu is a terrible affliction (although, to be fair, he sounds pretty rough)!
