Morning! How is everyone today? How was T in the end last night EPB?? It will get better, just keep being persistant, honey. xx

Outlaws had older two last night!!!!!!!!! Admittedly, we had to go over there and put them to bed for them ; but they had them and they are dropping them off with another friend at 10 and we're not picking them up til 3! Although I am up (cos of P), it is sooooooo nice not having to deal with K & S for a change. DH has gone out for MacDonalds breakfast () and we are going to eat that try and get some more sleep.

Oooggs, worse present!!? Well DH's parents bought the older 2 plastic tea sets from Tchibo and that is it. I am not ungrateful, I am just a little , I thought they might spend more than a tenner on their grandchildren. They didn't get P anything. I guess mine and DH's worst gift was a calender of Country Homes & Gardens. LOL @ Zebra slippers - were they the right size for either of you!!?

ElfPolarBear · 28/12/2007 09:50

He was OK thanks but a bit more unsettled than the night before. He slept through again though!
Hope you enjoy your day with just one, though lol that that is an 'easy' day!!!

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 28/12/2007 09:52

Morning all. Off out today so just dropping by quickly.

Pesha, hope D picks up again soon. Sounds like he has the same as F and she was really rough. Horrible to watch them go through it.

Elf, how was T overnight?

I too would love some child free time. Feel really bad whinging about it as my bil and his partner are struggling to conceive and on the waiting list for ivf. Cant even begin to imagine the anguish at not being able to have a baby. I know I am so lucky to have two gorgeous and healthy children, but sometimes I just want to be me.

As for worst present, I got some pig oven gloves!! Not really a bad gift actually because I like them, just thought it was an odd thing to buy!!

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 28/12/2007 09:55

X post elf. Glad night was better. And yes, when you have two (or more!) children, you realise that one on their own is a breeze!! No-one tells you that when you only have your pfb though!!!!

runnyhabbit · 28/12/2007 10:02

mj were you on the sherry last night

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 28/12/2007 10:05

oops!

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 28/12/2007 10:06

Hello runny!! You ok?

Not on sherry, but did have a rather large glass of port!!

runnyhabbit · 28/12/2007 10:11

It is absolutley CRAP when lo don't/won't sleepNo wonder sleep deprivation is used as torture.

Touch wood, sleep isn't too much of an issue here. (and we've finally got J to go to sleep on his own!)
The issue I have at the moment is bf. I know I am very lucky that W hasn't bit me, even though he now has 8 teeth
But, every time he feeds, it feels like he is chewing my boob. And its bloody uncomfortable. It used to be the mid afternoon bf that was painful, but now its morning and bedtime. I've been thinking about stopping bf for a few days, and as soon as I think I've made up my mind, he feeds perfectly. Arrrgghhh.

runnyhabbit · 28/12/2007 10:14

Apart from the bf, I'm fine

Although I am now convinced that we do actually have the same mil - she kept calling W "the baby" on Boxing Day
And my sil didn't know what to get J and W for Christmas, so she bought them chocolate buttons and chocolate biscuits. At least she had the good sense to give the presents to me, and not to the boys.

runnyhabbit · 28/12/2007 10:30

Someone please give me strength before I strangle dh.
Honestly, for an intelligent man, he can really be a bit dim at times.
And he's been complaining about being tired all the time "the boys are really active aren't they" Yes dear, they are but if you were me, you'd still have to work, and do housework. FFS.

And its raining

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/12/2007 10:33

he is a man though runny, that makes life so much harder for the poor dears

RudolphtherEDDASnosedreindeer · 28/12/2007 10:44

hiya, feeling better today god i was a misery yesterday that's what shopping with a 3 year old does to me but I never learn. Idiot.

Having said that I will be off out later to one shop just to get some storage boxes in an attempt to tidy my house! that shouldn't be too bad

I weighed myself earlier, was curious, and was very although I now know that I haven't lost weight as i'd thought, but still tried on some smaller jeans and they did up now if i wore them for any length of time I wouldn't be too comfy but they did up, yay that's such progress Am going to go back on the diet once new year is here and dd is back to preschool and me to work, then I can get a routine going Maybe!

really must change my mn name back

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/12/2007 10:45

Where are you all?

I'm boooored at work

Eddas · 28/12/2007 10:45

that's better

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/12/2007 10:46

much better

CaptainDippy · 28/12/2007 11:55

She's back!!

fpesha · 28/12/2007 13:11

Eddas!! Its still christmas time even if its not christmas day. Now could you please put your red nose back on and could you ALL please put your hats on.

PillockOfTheCommunity · 28/12/2007 13:31

no

Eddas · 28/12/2007 13:37

i'll compromise, i'll do the hats but the name has gone

dd is currently being very caged animal like, she needs something to do bless her. IE she needs to run around like a nutter for a bit. Can't face soft play as i'm sure it'll be utter madness and don't want to go to the park with ds. so we shall have to be caged

Took dd & ds to the shop to get storage boxes. Not too bad I guess

Now I just need time to sort everything am thinking of ringing MIL to see if she'll have them for a day. I could use the time away from them aswell TBH I hate feeling like this

mammyjounderthemistletoe · 28/12/2007 15:38

Eddas, will prob do you good to get some time away from them. I am home now, just for an hour, and have left both of them with my mum and dad. It is heaven, and I feel guilty as I wrote before, but sometimes you just need some space. Dont ever feel bad for that

Must dash to post a letter off about my congestion charge penalty. They will probably make me pay it anyway, but do not intend to without a fight!!

Eddas · 28/12/2007 16:03

you're right mj, now have to either get dh to ring mil or ring myself, not sure which. DH gets a bit funny sometimes if I ask him to ring

I'd just like to thank my secret santa again, as i've just got my new mouse mat and mouse out of the box and realised it goes very nicely with my dining room(where the computer is) as it's pink!!!!! Dh isn't sure if it's very manly to be using them though but then he is sitting in a pink room so can't see that it matters too much

Can anyone tell me what to do for diner please? feeling VERY uninspired and really can't be arsed. DH is 'healthy' eating atm [rolls eyes] which is a slight PITA

CaptainDippy · 28/12/2007 17:10

MacDonalds?

Erm. Some Caesar Salady thing with chicken / turkey and bits - could make your own croutons!!? Soup? Sorry I am crap cook, I am afraid so no use asking me - we are having chicken kiev, new pots, peas ..... whooooo!

Don't feel guilty, MJ and Eddas!!!!!! Being a mummy is the hardst job in the world and we all need a break from time-to-time - I am feeling sooooooo much better for having only had P for a few hours today! xx Phone your outlaws, Eddas - phone them!!!!! xx

NorthernLurkerwithastarontop · 28/12/2007 17:53

Hello I'm back for my parents after a straight forward family Christmas. No huge dramas really - except I mearly had to fight my sister for the carrots at the Christmas lunch table - she was blatently hogging them!! I had a narrow squeak all round there actually as no plate was provided for my place so I missed out on the first flush of dividing up the grub and I was too busy assisting elderly relatives and children to dinner to notice and by the time I did - the table looked a bit bare - fortunately there was more in the kitchen Tbh after my vomiting on Sunday night I was just very, very pleased to be able to eat any dinner. No idea what was wrong with me - was just about ok on Christmas Day except for a headache so had a couple of extra hours back in bed after present opening whilst assorted family members went to church and was then fine. Girls very happy with their presents - B looked adorable in her red Christmas dress.
So all ok but it is so nice to be home!

Glancing through the thread that I've missed I can see though that some of you have had really tough/exhausting times - so sorry to read that - hope the New Year is more relaxing!

ElfPolarBear · 28/12/2007 18:30

rant alert
can't do this
T has just done it again luckily not as bad this time
DH has gone off on one, refused to look at me, angry, slamming his fist, talking about leaving us
