Sorry derlor, I got called away - but I guess yuou've gone now too

Foxy, that is impressive multi-tasking, and a good way to look at life.

Bumper, I reckon everyone should adopt wahtever mantra suits you best - so maybe ignore that one!

Off to do my nursery pick-up now. See you all later

That's lovely Foxy! So true as well! Also makes me want to sit on my arse cuddling a poorly DD rather than do housework

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 17/12/2007 12:40

oh definitely arse-sitting and cuddles Norty

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 17/12/2007 12:45

well DD seems to like bread, I just gave her a strip of bread off my sandwich and she made short work of it

Sputnik · 17/12/2007 12:52

Would second that....

Right, not to much to catch up on, glad your Mum has rallied a bit Daisy, hope you can still have your xmas together. It sounds like you're coping brilliantly but it must be so hard. Fury, sorry to hear about your foster brothers' sister, some people really get all the shit in life thrown at them

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 17/12/2007 12:55

that good Jammy.

We sat in a pub yesterday and DD sat in a highchair eating bread roll, carrot, cucumber, chicken strips and chips. Don't think much actually went down her throat but she had a whale of a time

Gave her a cup today and she wasn't impressed....by the contents though I think.....some sort of baby juice.

Holly - will you get your DP to check your FB please....might have a SS problem? Sorry to be a pain!

Sputnik · 17/12/2007 13:00

And Happy Birthday Holly

And shut the fark up about binning your mini-skirts , I still wear longish minis (with opaque tights, I hasten to add) and I'm freakin 40. My legs are relatively unscathed by having had 2 kids.

Right, I have an hour to sort out some kind of stand for the xmas tree before I have to get DD, better crack on

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 17/12/2007 13:26

OK. I'm off to face the fridge, it's needed cleaning for ages and I've been putting it off, but gotta be done before DH goes out to do the main Xmas food shopping this week. So here goes, I wonder how long it'll take?

foxythesnowman · 17/12/2007 13:42

MHC - I haven't opened mine yet. Might save it for Christmas Eve? It would be wrong to be on here on Christmas Day, surely???

BadZelda · 17/12/2007 13:54

I need to do a shit load of cleaning before the entire family descends on us on wednesday....guess I know what I'll be doing this afternoon whilst I wait in YET AGAIN for effing parcelforce.

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 17/12/2007 14:00

Just for once I would like to be able to eat my lunch without a background of crying. I had really yummy thai curry leftovers that I was really looking forward to and DD cried the whole time, even when I held her. I'm just so cranky when I am hungry and like to enjoy my food, not wolf it down. Funnily enough I had much more patience for DD when I had finished.

Norty I had to laugh at that "look" from DH. DH and I have had many an argument when I have done something "wrong" like get frustrated with DD not feeding properly. "she's only a baby" he says. FFS I know she is only a baby I'm not stupid, but when you have been with said baby since 7am your patience wears a bit thin! Knowing she is only a baby doesn't make screaming in your ear any more bearable.

She isn't very happy today though. I just had to give her a bottle of EBM as when she tried to bf she kept choking, as she had got herself all worked up. All my clothes are covered in snot and DD is crusty as hell!

Re SS it might be difficult to get a moment with us all together but shall we set a time and see if most of us can make it online. How is Christmas eve after the DCs have gone to bed - 9.30? How many of us could make that?

Thank you Santa! My package just arrived, how exciting! And there's not even a post mark so I can't guess who it's from grrrrr .

I finally posted mie in the past few days, having had it sat looking at me for days , so someone should receive there's soon, hopefully.

I'm supposed to be going out on xmas eve, with my brother and sister, once the DCs are asleep - Mum and Dad are babysitting as they never go out on xmas eve. So, I won't be able to open it together with everyone then, but please go ahead and I'll open mine on xmas day.

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 17/12/2007 14:59

Oh Bumper....I have every sympathy with the snot situation .....its still going on here....from me as well as DD....difference is I can blow my nose....don't have snot like spagetti and don't scream when anything comes near my nose in order to remove it ....farking sick of it all now.....god I WANT to go to work tomorrow

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 17/12/2007 15:02

FUCKETY FUCK, I have pressed something that means that whenever I click on 'add' it opens a new window - any ideas? Something came up about 'sticky keys'

MHC - isn't it scary how quickly they figure things out and start escaping!

Everyone with snotty DCs - great sympathy. DS gets so angry with me when I try and clean his nose, he;d much rather just rub it all over me, as if I don't already do enough bloody washing already

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 17/12/2007 15:05

, I have just bashed my keys in frustration and that seems to have solved it - probably not what an IT professional would have recommended though .

Right, must go and do some tidying, we are off to my DPs on Thursday and I really want to come back to a tidy house after xmas, not a dump. Well, I can dream.....

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 17/12/2007 15:06

Well that was quite grim, but fairly quick - some of the time was taken with changing and settling DD. (Awake again now though!)

Re SS presents (I have a parcel to collect from the sorting office tomorrow!) - we have very strict rules about present opening, and actually I like to stick to them, so I will probably be saving mine, along with any other presents that don't come in my stocking until after the queen's speech. Sorry.

WewishyouaBUMPERLICIOUS · 17/12/2007 15:07

Glad it's not just DD who screams every time I try and wipe her nose!

foxythesnowman · 17/12/2007 15:09

You have my sympathies Zelda. I am currently waiting in on a fourth day for DHL. I have spent most of today on hold with either them or Halfords fobbing me off when I eventually do get through.

LO is really getting the hang of rolling over, but thankfully isn't moving around too much.
YAY She's just rolled over an propped herself up on her elbows!!

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 17/12/2007 15:21

That's very good of you Jammy. We wait until after breakfast and take it in turns to open things - one person picks something at random and passes it to the recipient who opens it and then chooses another present, etc. I'm not sure I could bear to hang on until the afternoon! I regress to being a very small over-excited child at christmas

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 17/12/2007 15:24

When I first lived with DH and he suggested waiting til the afternoon I was horrified. I'd grown up opening presents in the morning, and couldn't imagine waiting. But now I quite like it - as long as we have something to do in the morning, not just sitting looking at presents thinking "is it time yet?"

FairyOnTopOfTheChristmasTree · 17/12/2007 15:27

As you can see, my cleaning/tidying isn't going well...!

HaveYourselfaNortyLittleXmas · 17/12/2007 15:28

We do the same as you Fairy....I hate the "free for all" bit....one at a time here....but also couldn't wait until the afternoon

oh god, I promised DH I'd make some mince pies today....but I really don't feel like it....

nowbringussomeJammypudding · 17/12/2007 15:30

Oh yes, has to be one at a time.
