mrm- do you have any creative skills (like birthday cakes, or hand knitting arran/fair isle jumpers) or could you do copywriting/proofreading, book keeping etc?
Sorry- I'm pretty new around here, so I don't know what your skills are/where your talents lie!

mustrunmore · 23/10/2007 23:05

I have no talent whatsoever I'd love to be a proof reader, but its the whole paying-for-a -course-and-getting-into-it thing. I need something piss easy that I can just do.

EachPeachPearMum · 23/10/2007 23:10

Well- if you find something like that - let us ALL know LOL!

mustrunmore · 23/10/2007 23:17

I know! Mind you, I have decided that when the boys are full time school, and I go back to work, I def want to be back in central London. I miss it so much! Not that I'll be able to linger after finishing work of course.
Anyway, for now I think I need to join more mystery shopper companies etc(only doing one atthte mo,which has very few local jobs, plus pinecone research)

EachPeachPearMum · 23/10/2007 23:20

What did you do pre-children? Can you freelance at that? or do it on contracting?

2boysmacca · 24/10/2007 06:58

my sister is looking for franchisees mr here

Jas · 24/10/2007 07:43

csws - no you didn't mention the dairy progress. Yay!

mrm- cleaning? Somewhere you can take ds2 with you? I'm making about £30 a week cleaning and cooking for my friend (depends on how many cakes sell) and I take ds with me and he trashes her house while I work

She also has a proper cleaner (I only do the kitchen) who also brings a child with her,

Pease start a thread so we can all get some ideas though. DPs working is also very unpredictable (he is currently etting up at 5am to drive round to the m4 for work every day)

Have a lovely day out mrm and csws.

FlameBat · 24/10/2007 07:50

You've all written faaaaaaaaaaaaar too much and the only thing that has stuck is the poor children called Emily

Oh, and halloween costumes - what you need is a nice pumpkin bum

When I asked on a nappy site if people would buy them, they were all "oooh yes, definately", now no git has

mrm's talent is in film making EPPM, but you'll have to ask her for more details .

Ironing is always my suggestion for stuff like this - very flexible. Or you could be a seller for Phoenix/Usborne etc, or do 'AboutMyArea' if there isn't one already where you live. Or phone sex line!!

mustrunmore · 24/10/2007 09:01

Done phone lines before
Am crap at ironing, so would need to practice a bit!

csws, I've just texted you. My da had turned up 24hrs ealy dont ask! he's klnackered, so doesnt want o t odo anything with us today anyway. But it imght be ab idea t get back at a reasonable time as he'll be on hidn all day until we return, and it might be hopsitable to cook him a meal or talk to him at somwe point! I was going to ask him to bring me up to yours, but he's wallking ded after his fdlight, and you know how I feel about his drivinfg at the best of times.

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/10/2007 09:18

Right, well am leaving here in about 10 mins, stopping off to get diesel, so should be with you between quarter and half past 10.

EachPeachPearMum · 24/10/2007 15:40

Flame- pumpkin bums are very cute, but I dont think you could get it to me by tomorrow!

mrm- erm, sex lines sound interesting ooh-err missus. I was going to suggest ironing next, as you can fit it in as and when...

Is the film making serious, or a joke???? I do know someone who is a producer, though they did just have ds2... I'm guessing an in-joke from csws' wink

Borneo and Peru!!!! my family is definitely too boring! My claim to fame is being in a volcanic eruption on Bali, but thats the only exotic thing we've done.

FlameBat · 24/10/2007 17:28

Tomorrow's Thursday , and yup I could You know you want one (someone buy the bloody things Shame it is too late to offer them to MN as a comp!!!)

Could you do phone lines with a headset whilst you did the ironing?

FlameBat · 24/10/2007 17:29

(if I leave before about 6.40pm this evening anyway)

Arse - had dinner all planned, was looking forward to it... then opened the fridge to realise I had bought pork chops instead of chicken breasts and forgotten

OP posts:
Jas · 24/10/2007 21:19

How was dinner, Flame?

The kids had pork chops for tea tonight. We had take away. A rare treat in our house

EachPeachPearMum · 24/10/2007 21:44

we had pizza too! Though they messed up the order twice, so we ended up with 3 lots of garlic bread, 3 lots of wedges, 2 vienettas, but all ages late.

Here you go

jangus · 24/10/2007 21:54

Just a wee up-date cos I spent quite a lot of time here when I was expecting Seth, but have had no time since!

Seth (9th Feb 2006) is doing well, a real wee star and a bit of a rascal.

Have been TTC for about 15 months now for #3 but nought happening as yet.

Will have a read through now to see what you have all been up to.
angedemarche / jangus

Frizombie · 24/10/2007 21:58

Oh go on then I'll have a bit of garlic bread. I did effort tonight and did chiken and leeky Brie potato bake, which dh then had the audacity to moan at having to get his own chicken out of the oven later, as I ate with the kids (the one day I can these days, as my day off( and he had to warm his own bake and wait for his chicken breast to finish cooking. Needless to say I grumped off to the gym and battered the treadmill instead, whilst he only bothered with the chicken won't friggin bother in future

Anyway sorry for that!

Flame, sorry no ones buying the nappies, I think they're great but sorry I don't need one.

MRM/CSWS did you have a good day out/in? what did you do with your dad in the end MRM?

EPPM shall we say MRM has had an 'interesting' time in movies

Oooh great news BTW, my cousin, gave birth today to a little girl 6lbs 15oz the whole family are doing great so very, very happy for them all.

Frizombie · 24/10/2007 21:59

Hi Jangus nice to see you back! we still natter like troopers in fact I'll be off in a mo, need to watch more Heroes

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/10/2007 22:15

Hey Jangus. Great to hear from you.
We've been ttc for about a year for no2, but no success here either. Hoping we both get lucky soon!

Had a lovely day out with mrm, but a bit too much driving, for dd in particular (but she did have an extra 1.5hrs over the boys). I got back just before 9:30, with dd already asleep. Changed into pjs, gave 'boo-boo', then put straight to bed. Think I'll be following myself quite soon!

Should add that despite me leaving home at 9:30 this morning, that by the time we'd picked up the mrms, driven to Warwick with a wee stop, parked and walked to the castle, it was 1:40!!

mrm told her dad to go into town and have a nice day by himself!

Returned to a rather eerie house. Left it all normal but with the builders here this morning, and returned to lots of boarded and/or bricked up windows, and a house full of huge scary bluebottles. Have sprayed loads, but now constantly have that hideous buzzing noise when they are dying and spinning around upside down on the wooden floor, plus the buzzing of the live ones flying about. Have counted at least 20 so far . Feels a bit like a horror movie!

EPPM - I am essentially a single mum during the week, as dh nearly always works abroad, although not often as far flung as Peru (he moves on to Brazil on Saturday too)!

mustrunmore · 24/10/2007 22:30

Sorry about the long drive csws
Had a lovely day though.
Ds1 went to bed about 9.20pm, ds2 woke up 15 mins ago, and I think he's about to wake again But then again, he is in bed fully dressed, so its prob a bit odd for him!

I'm knackered.And in love

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/10/2007 22:35

To expand on that, mrm is in love with a rough looking knight, who apparently only didn't snog her because she'd lost one of her 4 earrings (obv the child on her hip and other one running around her feet wouldn't have put him off at all ).

mrm - you have to share the list of the only things that ds1 loves...

EachPeachPearMum · 24/10/2007 22:50

LOL- rough looking knights sound lovely

What does dh do that requires trips to peru and brazil?

am even more intrighued about the movie thinhg, though I notice mrm isn't saying much! I'll let you off, I know you're tired.... LOL

Frizombie · 24/10/2007 22:53

I'm sure that had nothing to do with it mrm If I'd have realised you were going to Warwick (how did I miss that, dippy moo) I could have sent dh to represent me in his lunch hour, he was working down there at the hospice today They have the maintanace contract, just in case anyone was wondering!
