Or, flame, you could be like me and be caught unawares on the northern line home, when not even due on, and no loos handy, and be forced into an early exit to go to tesco toilets.

mustrunmore · 21/10/2007 16:28

Ah, solidarity re the zoo

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/10/2007 16:31

Does it make any diff if I can get you in for half price?

Frizombie · 21/10/2007 16:35

will check rest of thread later, however we've just updated our site again, if you get time comments appreciated! www.chimeraccg.co.uk

Oooh it looks great!

mustrunmore · 21/10/2007 16:58

Will look in a min Friz, but it was waaay over my head last time!

csws, that would help! Just me half price? Or me and kids? Not sure how it works; Willows members only get 2 50% vouchers a year. I'd feel bad raking any of yours if they're limited. Er, you know it'll still be hell though? Speaking selfishly, we could travel in with dh when he goes to work (he gets in for 10 to have breakfast before starting work), we could walk across the aprk to the zoo. Then he can entertain one boy on the bus while I deal with the other. Then I keep ds2 awake all day, and he falls asleep on the bus home, after me having given him tea in town somewhere, and I transfer him straight to bed. Er, thats the ideal world anyway

mustrunmore · 21/10/2007 17:08

Right, I've had a look Frizbe... looks very good. A random apostrophe on 'shop photo's' though; sorry to be picky! The shop looks great; lots of stock in the photo, which is good to tempt people who'd be tempted by that kind of thing! Your shop frontage looks very streamlined. Probably works fine in RL, and I'm talking crap, but I'd like it too look a bit 'busier' IYKWIM? Hope thats not too cheeky a comment

Ds1 said 'a dalek! Look! I can see one!'

What's that Dracula game?!

Showed dh and asked for an inital reaction...Minus my replies, it went...
What is it?
What are you thinking of buying?
Where is it? Are you going to Derby?
Who is she?
Yes, the boys would love to dresss up?
Lok, my mate looked like that, the one who died.
Me? What would I have to do?
Whhhaaattt?? No!

UniSarah · 21/10/2007 19:55

Phoenix- don't think so, that park doesn't seem like the style of M&Ds neighbours who own a time share and are letting M&D have a week they don't want. I may be surprised tho!

Flame- smypathy, thouught i'd got it sussed then last month was days late. maybe my body isn't sticking with 21-24 days , which is better than the 16 days it seemed to be at one point! Didn;t expect it to take 18 months to settle down.

Dh has sudenly started talking about moving house! seems that our trip to a nice village on teh edge of teh moor today has sparked something in him. Ho Hum, maybe he will get over it. I quite like it here. MAybe hes a bigger snob about schools than I thought he was. Our local schools area has the lowest foundation stage entry skills level in the county! Not the schools fault, but the Foundation and KS teachers must have quite a job on their hands.

How manyof you are Londoners? I grew up in West London, then lived in Bermondsey for a bit. left at 19 and rarely go back.

FlameBat · 21/10/2007 19:58

Bournemouth born n bred here.

I can't stop crying.

DS has spent the day weeing and pooing on my floor/cushions.

I am yelling at everyone.

I yelled at DD for making a mess and it turns out they were lots of pictures for me (scattered over the top of the stairs so I saw them when I came up) to make me happy

I'm horrible.

mrm - we get 4 a year, but I still have 2 left, which you are quite welcome to. Think ds2 should be free, assuming their charging works the same as Whipsnade. I've never been to London Zoo, so have no idea what it is like or whether it gets busy. Dh suggested going another week instead (I get free parking except in half term), but I assume that ds1 can't just miss a random day at nursery cause we fancy a day out?! On the journey thing, I haven't looked at routes yet, but assume that I have to come down somewhere near you anyway, so could pick you all up enroute and drop back again afterwards, to make life even easier.

Alternatively, mum is posting me my voucher for free entry to West Midlands Safari Park. I assume it's for the same number of people who went last time, which means that you would be free. Can't remember if children have to pay or not. The problem with that one is of course the journey. It's about 2 hours from here, so wouldn't really want to make it longer by faffing about with getting you first! Any ideas on that . You could of course stay over on Wedns night if we did this, and go home Thurs.

I'm quite open to other suggestions if you have some too!

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/10/2007 20:00

Oh dear - cross posted. Gotta go feed dd - back to reply in a bit.

Frizombie · 21/10/2007 20:11

Thanks for the feedback girls will get the random apostrophe sorted out (I blame the man who did it ) am now thinking which Dracula game, as we have several, will check the photo again! Re windows, will look busier, when we get the comics up in the background, we have the same hangings you get in the estate agents windows to go up in the background tomorrow, which is why it's looking a bit streamlined at the moment!
Another good day today dh had a good sunday in the shop, hurrah! lots of good feedback from local parents too seems people are glad we've started up, hooray!!

Phoenix 10/10 for domestication, you beat me hands down

CSWS ah yes, you may be a little out of a delivery area where you are I think but I'm still of your house, so I could live with no pizza delivery

Ok Flame well you never know do you! Sorry for your hormones being all over the shop have a {{{{Hug}}}}}}

Uni, bet the school will have improved in a year or two anyway. Is it an area you could afford to move to, or is dh getting random ideas?

So y'all wanna faint? I've stuck dd2 in her new bed (we inherited it from a friend today) tonight and after 3 put backs (2 x fishing her back out of dd1's room) she's gone to sleep mind you she didn't sleep all day and lord knows what time she'll get us up in the morning

mustrunmore · 21/10/2007 20:15

Blimey! Well, life would be much easier if someone invented fold up carseats for a start!

I cant really stay on Wed, as my Dad will be back from Borneo and on our doorstep by about 7am! I could ask him to come and pick me up from yours, except I doubt he'll check his phone until its too late.
I ate a plum with a maggot in it at the West Mid Safari when I was about 10. Disgusting.
Think its very far and alot of hassle, and it'll be busy too you know! If you're going that far, you might aswell go to Warwick Castle and get in free

So, I prefer the zoo of the two options. Have i read that right? You wouldn't seriously be driving into central London would you?! What a bizzarre concept!
It'll be busy, but then again at least its open space, so the crowds will be kind of diluted. As long as if we go in a cafe its not at lunchtime! Ds1 will behave because he wont same peer pressure from others his age, so thats not a problem. Might have to bribe him with a lolly later in the day mind you. What times were you thinking of? Whatever time you go home, I'm def staying out late to feed them tea, to avoid rush hour. And I might treat them to the tube home rather than the bus, as its a bit quicker!

Er, am I waffling now?

mustrunmore · 21/10/2007 20:19

Friz,
Sat must have been better than today though? Or not? Backdrops will look great

csws doesnt need pizza delivery; she buys 860 at a time for her huge fridge freezer

BTW csws, you do know that London Zoo is where me and dh went after we got married?! Married, pizza with DL and the girl that became his ex straight after the meal ,checked into Landmark, me and dh went to the zoo

mustrunmore · 21/10/2007 20:21

Oh, and all you babies-in-beds people... I need to ask...do they not just fall out?! I really dont get it!

Frizombie · 21/10/2007 20:31

MRM, not so far! toffee dog did fall out the 3rd time I found her out of bed, and she was on hands and knees trying to get him back, all together now, awwwwwwwww but so far her no! (just stuck my head around the door to check mind, and she was sideways waving her arms around over her head seems the new found space and no bars is all a bit odd, have put her the right way up )

and oh that Dracula game shall I get you the spiel off the back of it tomorrow? its a board/roleplay game.

UniSarah · 21/10/2007 20:34

friz- I hope its randon ideas from DH, we "could" move but it would almost certainly involve getting a morgage if we were to move out of the city as these nice villiages in commuting distance are faily pricey. I worked hard to get us morgage free.... The local school I think are fine, its just they have to deal with a pretty low level baseline, a lot of kids entering the school at 4 and 5 with poor social, emotional, language and personal care skills. I think its a good thing that the base line skills are KNOWN to be so poor as it lets the schools show how far these kids HAVE progressed even tho they may not seem as able as their peers in a richer area. My hunch is that my kid with suportive parents who belive in education will probadly do Ok what school he goes to.

mustrunmore · 21/10/2007 20:36

Ok, so its just me that has kids that cant use beds correctly!

You can paraphrase the blurb; dont take any time over it! I dont have time for games really. I just noticed it because its my ultimate dream to be kidnapped for eternity by a handsome vampire

mustrunmore · 21/10/2007 20:37

Mortgage free [ envy]

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/10/2007 20:40

Ooh - Warwick Castle - I'd be well up for that!

DH is now being really pessimistic about the zoo. Will it be horrendously busy, honestly? I hate crowds. Staying out late sounds good wherever. Don't normally, so the change will do us good!

I'm not a Londoner at all Sarah. I lived there for a year, but that's it. Originally from the Midlands (Worcs), and now in North Herts.

((((((Flame))))))
Can you not get ds to stay in any type of nappy at all, even disp pull ups, or are you actively potty training?

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/10/2007 20:44

If we don't build the extension that we've got some people coming to talk to us about tomorrow, we could be mortgage free in a year or two!

mustrunmore · 21/10/2007 20:47

Ds2 has obv phoned Emrys and been told how funny it is to refuse nappies

Er, Warwick presents the same problem of me getting carseats crammed into one rucksack! Unless I get the train and met you there, but then that'd cost more than all the other ideas anyway!

yes, the zoo will be busy. But everywhere wiil be. Actually best to hibernate during half term. But the kids would enjoy it!

How about Mountfitchet Castle? I'm not sure why I like it so much, but ds1 does too, and the littlies can run after goats. BTW, I obv have no concept of distance for you to come ant get us then go there, as thats another place we cant get to alone!!! And its prob not a full day's activity, so a late start would be advisable!

mustrunmore · 21/10/2007 20:50

So your mortgage is the same as the cost of an extension?! Hmm. WE could get a big extension for our mortgage, even though its so much smaller than everone elses we know! Eg 6 time smaller than our next door neighbours!

(that should be cream tea obviously, can think of nothing more disgusting than bream tea!)
