nappynuttynormabutty · 10/10/2007 16:48

hmm, shall have to try it out. Last one I didn't leave long enough and the 2 before that I left too long!!!

PillockInThePumpkin · 10/10/2007 16:51

no idea how to roast

not really doing much puree any more, he's quite happy eating 'proper' food, with a little assistance!

Well the devil has spawned. Her name is Georgia and she is currently living at my house. Not sure how long that'll last. Fingers crossed the devil buggers off where he belongs.

Oh and devil number 2 is currently giving his sister a run for the PITa stakes laying on the front room floor crying. So why I am I on here? Well I've trie to solve each of their problems. DD has woken from a nap and didn't want to. So eventually I led her to bed. Now we are screaming that she doens't want to go to bed. Not much I can do there.

I believe ds is tired to. He has recently been fed, so not that. He has had about 4 poo nappies today so am ruling out that and TBH i have had enough. Will quite happily listen to whinging until dh comes home I think.

I will be going back to work 3pms a week so i will get the right balance I think. I don't actually want to go back. It would be nice to SAH but it really does my head in. I need the break from DD more than ds TBH. which is a little mean but she is alot more work than ds atm.

cd ikwym about childcare costs. unaffordable for 2 let alone 3. i am really lucky that sil loves kids(nutter) and wants to have mine.

right enough of my moaning. will read the rest of your posts later. dd seems happy now and ds ok now i've [icked him up but got to do diner so i'm sure they'll kick off in minus ten seconds. wish me luck

PillockInThePumpkin · 10/10/2007 17:16

have just had Matthew's assistance in cooking Lasagne for tea

take heed ladies, TEACH YOUR CHILDREN TO COOK

or they may end up like me

Eddas · 10/10/2007 17:18

can't be any help with the cooking ellie, total der with it all

Leaky, love the photos of Eva, she is adorable.

thanks for that oooggs, exactly. i know if i went full time, dh part time, i would still do the washing etc, he did do washing but banned him as he kept putting the handwash stuff in the machine so it shrunk personally i avoid handwash but sis is prone to buying me the odd thing for bday/xmas. only wear them once and they shrunk

it isn't eay working p/t. i found it really hard doing 2 days but i'm hoping that 3 half days will be easier. I found it hard getting up/ready/being on time hard. but this won't be an issue as i'll be doing the same routine as now. I won't go anywhere the days I work then i get all morning with ds to prepare for work, do some washing etc, then have lunch(me and ds), do dd some lunch and take it with me. Then pick her up and straight to sil. Also found it hard getting home late and rushing dd's bedtime, But i'll now only be workin til 5 not 5.30 so will be home a bit earlier so that should be better too. BUT we'll see

Eddas · 10/10/2007 17:19

ellie, i wish i'd been taught how to cook. not sure how i'll teach dc without being able to do it myself

AH, ds now conked out on the floor. Hope it's just a nap. DD is no longer the devil. Phew, hate the tired times.

MurderousMaveta · 10/10/2007 18:13

Phew well home at last.. oh bollocks dear thought N was down but the sounds coming from his room indicate not only is he not asleep but he´s not sleepy in the slightest

oh wait...

..no, better go check. back later..

mammyjo · 10/10/2007 18:14

Hi all. Good day here with me in a very good mood!

I am lucky that my mum taught me the basics of cooking and I have since taught myself with loads of different cookbooks. I actually really enjoy cooking and we all sit down to eat a home cooked meal most evenings. It is actually really satisfying to watch people eat, and enjoy, something that you have prepared! I already get ds in the kitchen with me making things, and he loves it

Leaky, that photo made me cry. Reminded me of ds when he was in special care. Eva Rose is beautiful Hope she continues to make a good recovery xx

MurderousMaveta · 10/10/2007 19:21

Eva does look gorgeous Leaky - hope her mum and dad are feeling encouraged by her progress.

Are there many of us from here back at work now? Fwiw I am really enjoying being back. I find the last hour almost always a stress trying to get everything done so I can get out bang on time but it´s done me the world of good to get out of the house 3 times a week. Even though I´m busy I can still stop for a cuppa and have some downtime which you never really have at home because one ear always seems to be listening out.. I think I´ll find full time a slog but part time is a great medium for me and if I could carry on like this I think I would. I don´t think I could be a SAHM, I always thought I would, my Mum has never worked and I loved always having her at home to do stuff with me but I´m not proactive enough in filling up my day I don´t think. I´m sure to be happy at being a SAHM you´ve got to have a certain amount of get up and go to find activities to keep you occupied.

MurderousMaveta · 10/10/2007 19:46

hmm guess you are all doing bath/ bed etc.. am going to go have a bath myself now..

just had a look at the sale boards - where do these people get all their stuff from?? How come they have so much to sell?? Like that girl that will swap ALL her buggies for a bugaboo. SHe has 4 at least 2 of which iirc are BNIB! How? How does she have 4 practically new buggies and if she can afford those, why didn´t she just get a bugaboo?? I am so confused.

oooggs · 10/10/2007 19:47

me too maveta - know idea where they get the money from!!!!!

nappynuttynormabutty · 10/10/2007 19:56

Confuses me too Maveta.

Right Erin just having her last bottle of the day. Once she's in bed I'll get on with reading my book. Tho that could be a while

Sexonlegs · 10/10/2007 20:06

Hi lassies

Pmsl at the parsnip talk!

I quite like them myself, although K looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp when I gave her some!

Leaky, gorgeous pic of Eva. Still thinking about you all.

Ooogs, how is Jack doing now?

Eddas, I love your posts - you sound so like me, and your dd sounds so like B! Girls are hard work I think. Whenever we go to birthday parties, the boys sit up nicely and eat and the girls sit there calling each other poo poo pants and the like!

Runny, hope you hear from your boss soon. I think it is out of order that he keeps putting it off.

Mammyjo, glad you had a better day today - you sound v happy!

Pillock, hope you manage ok with the old cooking lark. I hate it personally and find it a real chore.

Big hugs to everyone else - apologies for not mentioning everyone. Dinner ready. Back later. xx

mammyjo · 10/10/2007 20:14

SOL, lol at K being like a bulldog chewing a wasp

Maveta, know what you mean! If you had a bugaboo to get rid of would you really want to trade for 4 more buggies?!

Nutty, enjoy your book

Hi oooggs Is your dh at work or home tonight? Hope bedtime was ok if you are on your own xx

weepotion · 10/10/2007 20:26

hi folks. quick post as we have visitors coming round. they have insisted on cooking us dinner and bringing it here!!!

am i the only one not weaning!! i will be starting full blw next week but - eek! that i seem to be well behind!

re work - i used to work v hard and v long hours. thought i would miss it - but i dont. i love being at home with c. we are out every day doing things and meeting up with people. this is turning into one of the nicest times of my life - i am making more friends now than i ever thought i would.

(whisper - i have a camera crew coming in the morning. we have been asked to be in a new dvd on breastfeeding. they want to follow us over the next few months. need to get hair done and nice clothes picked for c!!)

MurderousMaveta · 10/10/2007 20:42

WO - that´s exactly what I mean, you are loving being a SAHM because you love making things, and planning activies, and you seem to always be off doing things. I think if I had that, I would much prefer to SAH than go to work. But I don´t have a single RL friend with kids nearby to do stuff with. I can imagine it would be nice but as it is it´s just N and me all day long until dh gets home, if I get really bored I can go hang out with my parents but much as I love them it gets a bit old hanging out with your folks, you know? So work gets me out and talking to other adults and makes me appreciate all the more the days I DO have with N. Although I still struggle for things to do sometimes..wow it depresses me to think about it..

WO that sounds lovely re. the breastfeeding dvd, what lovely memories that will bring back when you watch it. Lucky thing and no, you aren´t the only one not weaning, there´s a couple of us lazy bums on here! lol

mammyjo · 10/10/2007 20:50

Wow WO, fame and fortune beckons!! Hope we all get to see the dvd when it's finished!

Re work, I am back for just one day a week just now, but I would love to be a SAHM. Never thought I would think that either! Maveta, know what you mean about wanting adult company. I am lucky that all my friends have young children, so we just meet up for coffee with the lo's. I am out and about all the time and never ever get bored! Shame I need the money to fuel my lifestyle or I really would stay home at least until F goes to full time school.
I do like my job, but not that much

Sexonlegs · 10/10/2007 21:22

Hi peeps

Wow WP, how exciting!!

On the subject of work, I think it certainly helps if you enjoy what you are doing. I have worked in HR for 15 years and really enjoy it. I also like the Company I work for - they are part charity as opposed to a money grabbing company. The money is reasonable, but not great, and whilst I do need to work financially, it isn't the main reason iyswim.

I was desperate to get back to work after I had B, but I think probably for all the wrong reasons. I didn't have PND, but I didn't enjoy her particulary which is a really sad thing for me to admit to. I am enjoying K hugely, but still want to return for the reasons outlined, and because I think it will be beneficial for us to have time apart.

nappynuttynormabutty · 10/10/2007 21:22

Oooh that's great WO - being filmed!!!

I get v bored at home but still wouldn't want to go back to work unless I found something that would fit in around dh's work so we didn't have to pay for childcare. Have signed up for a few online survey things and that mystery shopper one too. Am still toying with the idea of being a nappy advisor (despite MILs comments )

nappynuttynormabutty · 10/10/2007 21:24

Oh and have decided not to bother reading tonight...have had loads to lanolise so been doing that, bought 2 washing up bowls today so I could do all of it at once!

nappynuttynormabutty · 10/10/2007 21:29

ARGH...I'm a day ahead with everything. Complained earlier to dh that the veg hadn't arrived again and he pointed out it wasn't due til tomorrow. Just now said I can pick some bits up for him after baby group tomorrow and he points out it's only weds so not baby group tomorrow!

SharpMolarBear · 10/10/2007 21:29

Hi everyone
T has been lovely tonight, laughing and smiling and not really crying, why can't he be like this all the time?
(Must have been the parsnip )
Off to bed in a few mins, good night xx

Sexonlegs · 10/10/2007 21:43

Right, am off to bed too. I can barely keep my eyes open.

Sleep well ladies and babies and see you in the morning.
