Awwww smiley babies, I am so broody!!

I used to feed lying down, when he was smaller it was easier to use the bottom boob, as he got bigger it was easier to use the top boob. I think the main thing is to make sure you are comfy before letting her latch on, else you could be stuck for a while!

Nearly the end of January I don't think I have ever wanted a month to be over and done with so much in my life!

LuckySalem · 28/01/2008 09:47

I've put a picture of her smiling on my profile - if it's worked.

NatalieJane · 28/01/2008 09:58

Awww doesn't she look like her dad?!!! Bless her

Baby pics are not helping my broodyness y'know!!!

Do you think PCM has had her baby yet?

LuckySalem · 28/01/2008 10:32

I'm assuming she has.... she's been quiet for a long time and you know she can't normally be this quiet. lol

Alot of people say she's got lots of me in her but I think it's mostly her dad.

I'm not trying to help your broodyness missus!! Your meant to be TTCing again!!

NatalieJane · 28/01/2008 10:34

Awww, can't wait to hear the news

I am only going off that photo of him on FB, (I don't know how to use that bloody thing!).

TTC'ing in May.... so bloody far away!

LuckySalem · 28/01/2008 11:26

May? how come so far away?

NatalieJane · 28/01/2008 11:29

A few reasons, main one being the MC, DH says I need to get my head sorted out properly and not just decide that I want a baby because of the MC, I see where he is coming from, but I have wanted another since George was born. Also, don't want yet another birthday around Christmas time! And then we have to try and get our house ready to sell, then sell it, then the move to contend with....

Roll on May!

LuckySalem · 28/01/2008 12:10

At least you've got plenty to keep your mind busy with before it then.

I was thinking this morning actually that I wouldn't mind a brother or sister for Aly. I didn't think I'd want another one (during the pregnancy) but I realise now that it wasn't actually that bad!

NatalieJane · 28/01/2008 12:15

LOL I didn't want another when I was pregnant, but then literally five minutes after he was born I asked DH if he was ready for number 3!

I bloody love giving birth!!

peachygirl · 28/01/2008 21:12

Lucky I have always fed with the lower boob but you can do it with the higher one like NJ says.
It does take a bit of practice.

LuckySalem · 28/01/2008 21:17

I'm going to try the feeding thing tonight then if DP does his usual stay up late thing!! Cheers

NatalieJane · 29/01/2008 10:21

Morning all, still no news from PCM, it is looking good

How did the feeding go Jen?

Hiya Peachy

I whimped out of mums and tots again, I am going to be in so much trouble! Oh well!

laughalot · 29/01/2008 10:38

Ooh pcm where are you ?

NatalieJane · 29/01/2008 12:22

Do you think she got lost on the delivery suite? Are they still looking for her?

NatalieJane · 29/01/2008 12:24

In fact, I bet she had the baby and then decided that she just had to go to Mothercare World for something or other, and hasn't come out yet...

I am soooooo bloody broody, how the hell are we going to wait till May?!!!

LuckySalem · 29/01/2008 12:38

Feeding sucked last night. I so can't do the lying down thing. I kept nearly suffocating her.

Health Visitor has been today and weighed her and she now weighs 6lbs 15ozs. She's put on 13ozs in 2 weeks!!

PCM - WHERE ARE YOU?!

Hey Nat and LL -

laughalot · 29/01/2008 12:45

Hey jen how is that lovely little girl of yours ? Sorry no bf tips I bottlefed both of mine. Pcm is quiet she lives about 10 min from me should I go and stalk her at the hospital .

Hi nat get sha**ing

NatalieJane · 29/01/2008 13:49

Awww Jen, keep practising it will get easier, you can try feeding using the top boob, gives you a bit more room. You do need to be properly on your side, else you will naturally roll towards her. It will get easier, and I'd say is fairly essential to get sleep, give it a couple of week, if that, and you will be wondering why it seemed so hard

Lota Dirty minded vixen!!! (I have been working on the GOF's, it is very good practise )

pussycatmomma · 29/01/2008 14:35

hey all......................sorry to keep you all in suspense- still no baby here
Spent all yesterday at the hospital.
The plan was originally for midwife to visit me again monday morning and to arrange my possible induction date for the following sunday evening or monday morning (3rd or 4th of feb). Well it all went a bit pear shaped!
Midwife phoned me at 9am and told me she had been looking at some new guidance over the weekend, which suggested with my circumstances i needed to be seen by a consultant straight away. The reasons were a)overdue b)head not engaged at term and c)very high amniotic fluid. I think basically they are worried that if my waters break spontaneously because the head is not engaged it may cause a cord prolapse and be dangerous for baby. So midwife had arranged for me to go to labour suite asap so consultant could have a look at me and then tell me if they wanted to induce me there and then. So rang my dh (at 10past9 bless him, he had only just got to work!) who came back for me and we hotfooted it to hosp complete with bags etc not really knowing what to expect. Immediately got booked in, wristband on etc, and im thinking "nooooooo" not today, im not ready!!!! To cut a long story short, monitored baby for ages as couldnt get a stable trace as he/she was so active and heartrate very high. Dr came and gave me a horribly painful internal. Cervix still tightly shut, long, thick etc, all things which are not conducive to being induced apparetnly. But she also said head was actually moving down into my pelvic brim and was 3/5 engaged. So she was happy for me not to be induced, and i now have a final date for induction of the 5th feb, which will make me 12 days overdue. I was so anxious all day, not knowing what was happening, was i staying, was i going, were they going to induce me there and then or not....... talk about stress!!!
So now am playing waiting game again.
Me and dh went for it last night and im just going to take dog out for a long walk. Apparently if head is starting to engage, pressure of babys head when walking may start to thin the cervix.
Sorry i dont have more interesting news.
Im just so fed up now.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

laughalot · 29/01/2008 14:59

Pcm just think of that date and know you will have a baby by then. I was sent to the labour ward with lauren when I had mega high blood pressure and got sent home again it seems so pointless. When they did eventually send me in to be induced as I had pre eclampsia I desperatly wanted the baby but thought no its not the right time . They are very good the midwives, consultants ect I found at km assuming you are having baby there. Im afraid you will prob have lost of folks poking and prodding that area but you go past the point of actually caring when the contractions are that strong. I remember when lauren was coming out I was screaming I sounded like a cow/bull the midwife said come on claire push dont scream , and out she popped and we cried xxxxx Thought I was going to have to come and stalk you.

pussycatmomma · 29/01/2008 15:06

hiya lota, id not be a very interesting stalking subject at the moment! Feeling really miserable and down in the dumps. But still getting alot of tightenings across my tummy, so it feels like there is something going on in there even though i know it is not actually labour. Am feeling very uncomfortable, miserable, head-achey and tired.
I just want to have the baby!! xxxx

laughalot · 29/01/2008 15:15

Watch those headaches lady and if they get worse ring the midwife. Tightnings are a good sign and baby engaging means things are happening your baby is getting in position ready for the off. I know it is easy for me to say but labour can just come on suddenly I was convinced with aidan I would be induced and two days before he had other plans. Try and get rest if you are tired because tiredness and labour dont go well togeather you need all your strength for that. You should have come round to my house this morning why aidan was at nursery you could have had a cuddle with lauren . Ooh and sex is good.

NatalieJane · 29/01/2008 15:24

Oh no PCM, I am so dissapointed for you

Lota has said it all, just think, this time next week you will be a mummy How exciting is that?!!

When the midwife sent me in an ambulance with flashing lights to hospital for an emergency c/s because of high BP, I got put in a room on my own (well DH was there) for two hours, then someone came and took my BP, said it had gone down and I could go home. I didn't, I told them I wasn't leaving without the baby being born, they induced me Though to add to the high BP, I also couldn't wee, and when they catheterised me they said there was a plus of protein and it was very concentrated, with high urates (or something or other!), I was swollen beyond all measures, and I'd only been having contractions since 33 weeks, oh and my waters were trickling a bit every now and then, I'd had enough!

sorry, got carried away there! Anyway, back to the point of this, you will be a mum by this time next week, how exciting is that?!!

laughalot · 29/01/2008 16:15
