Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
LuckySalem · 08/01/2008 19:57

the backache is at the top of my back not the bottom so didn't really think anything of it apart from OW!

NatalieJane · 09/01/2008 09:59

LOL Trace I'm only 24, though this week feel about 84.

Can't get over PCM's bump, it is a truly beautiful bump how sad am I? LOL

Jen tell DP he can be as moody about you being on the 'puter as he likes, but you have responsibilties to let us know what's going on! Kick him in to touch girl!!! (My DH hates me being on 'puter when he is here as well LOL)

pussycatmomma · 09/01/2008 13:46

lol nj!!
How are you feeling today hun? Still thinking of you.
Trace - what makes you think my bump is a girl? Curious to know!!
My armchair for the babys room just got delivered- hurray! Had an active morning - midwife been, took Archie out for a walk, and made a big fish pie to portion up for the freezer (am thinking may not have much cooking time in first few weeks). Tis my plan to make as much food as poss to squirrel away - cottage pie, lasagna, fish pie, Can anyone suggest anything else thats easy to portion up and freeze?
Lucky - how are you doing?? Hope tis not long for you now.
Midwife said babys head still "high and free" eg not engaged and still very bouyant (sp?) due to lots of fluid. Have scan tomorrow to check all is well.
love to all xxxx

NatalieJane · 09/01/2008 14:51

Ty PCM, I will reply better in a min, got to go and face the witches den (that would be the mums at school!)

Have decided any more comments I am going to just straightforwardly answer with, yes, but I had a misscarriage, will either shut them all up or show them I don't care if they all know or not.

Just got to do it without crying

Will be back in a bit.

NatalieJane · 09/01/2008 15:56

Hello am back

Food to freeze, how about making up some big stews? And bolognaise, you could quickly defrost and warm up the blog, while cooking some speghetti at the same time.

Also you could cut up a load of potatoes into wedges and stick some in the oven with some chicken or something.

Home made soups are lovely, and easy to do.

You will find it fairly easy to get into a routine quickly after the baby is born.

The baby has plenty of time to still come down, both times I've been pregnant I have longed for them to engage, but then once they have I have longed for them to un-engage LOL I find it very uncomfortable, but most women say they feel better once they have dropped down.

peachygirl · 09/01/2008 20:46

HI all
Sorry NJ to hear your news I hope you are OK.
PCM lovely to see you. What great pictures!!! Don't worry about food get M PCM to go to M and S!!
Trace has Chloe been to the Hosp yet? Any news?
Jen, hang in there!!

My big news is that Maya is walking!! A few steps before christmas, and then more practise with the wooden brick trolley Father Christmas bought and then lots more independent walking.

LuckySalem · 09/01/2008 21:53

Just quick, no baby today.
Sweep tomorrow!

NatalieJane · 10/01/2008 14:01

Thanks you Peachy, I'm doing OK I think Great news about Maya's walking George is just like his brother, he will stand up on his own for as long as he likes, will walk holding on to something, but he knows that crawling get's him to where ever the mischief is waaaaaay quicker than walking, so he plummits to the floor as soon as he wants to move!

Fingers crossed for you Jen

LuckySalem · 10/01/2008 14:34

Just had my sweep, head still quite far up and could only just reach cervix apparently (i'm guessing that means nothing much going to happen very quickly)

Speak to you all later!

NatalieJane · 10/01/2008 14:56

How was it?

Will be back in a few mins, going to get DS1.

xxx

LuckySalem · 11/01/2008 06:26

Sorry I dissapeared yesterday. Sweep was ok but nothing happened. She's put some notes in my notes about CX just tipped and presenting part still high "3 above spines"

I just know i'm going to end up in hospital being induced and i'm scared stiff about that. I just want baby to come now.

I couldn't stop crying yesterday after she went, I feel so helpless and as though my body isn't working properly for me.

NatalieJane · 11/01/2008 08:41

Aww Jen Sorry it hasn't seemed to do the trick.

I was induced with both of mine, and honestly it isn't half as bad as some people make out. And I'm not just saying that to make you feel better. It doesn't have to come with being strapped to machines and all the other nasties that people say.

Besides, if you go over 42 weeks, you don't automatically have to be induced. Fair enough you won't be able to have the home birth, but you can still wait to go naturally (though you do need to go everyday to hospital to be monitored.)

I have got to get DS1 to school, but will be about on and off over the day, I will answer anything I can Don't be too worried, the baby will come however it's going to come, and you don't need to be stressed on top of everything else at the moment.

Lots of love xxx

NatalieJane · 11/01/2008 11:26

How's it going Jen?

LuckySalem · 11/01/2008 19:06

I'm feeling a little better now, went to the shop and bought some mags and a snickers bar

Can a show be just clear stuff or is it always pinky cos I've had a couple of globby bits but today quite a big lump (although in all honesty could be from the sweep yesterday)

NatalieJane · 11/01/2008 19:07

No, show doesn't have to be pinky It will be from the disturbance of the show, but it still means that the cervix is coming down and ripening as they say

This is soooooo exciting, gonna be glued to MN for days lol

LuckySalem · 11/01/2008 19:15

haha,

Maybe things are moving forward. I started a thread about whether I could refuse induction and still have a homebirth and technically I can but the hospital can just say no. I'm trying to get used the idea that I may end up in hospital but there are so many things about hospitals that I don't like the idea of.

I put these on the other thread as well.

I don't like hospitals (big wuss I know) and the strictness they put on you (maybe i'm a rebel )

I don't want to be stuck in hospital for days, I want to be at home with my DP and LO. (Hospital rules are if hos delivery then I have to stay in 2 days)

I REALLY want a waterbirth (its my main aim for pain relief) and no guarantees I can have that.

There are such strict, you have to be this far on after this long contracting etc that I don't want to have to worry about.

I keep reading that if you have a hospital birth you're more likely to have intervention (apparently for the reason above about strict times)

NatalieJane · 11/01/2008 19:23

Oh, my MN stickiness has worn off, DH is home!

Wish I could stay, will be here tomorrow morning.

All I can say Jen is the same as before really, you don't have to be induced, you don't have to go to hospital, you can discharge yourself if everything is well, and induction honestly isn't as bad as some on here would make you believe.

In some ways induction can be better, you would have a time and date in your head so can get better mentally prepared, rather than oh it might be today/tomorrow/nextweek/nextyear!!!

Please try not to worry, won't do you or the baby any good!

I will try and pop back on after if I can, but I can't promise anything, hope you get some more answer/reassurance on your other thread

Lots of love and corssed fingers - the show is a really good sign xxxx

NatalieJane · 11/01/2008 19:23

Some crossed fingers as well!!! xxx

LuckySalem · 11/01/2008 19:24

LuckySalem · 11/01/2008 19:45
