I'm off to bed too now...good night!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

just tried again daisy. i could feel the letdown, still fussed and cried. tried rugby ball position, no joy. seems to be okay on the right for now. booked to see the CO monday. it's just such a lot of money, & not guaranteed to help. so much for my bfing shoes as a treat. i seem to spend enough money struggling with the bf

bumperlicious · 03/10/2007 16:37

plus they keep having cakes at bfing group & i'm so hungry it's doing nothing for my weight.

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/10/2007 16:37

Rather than the baby cafe bumper, is there an NCT BF counsellor you can see/have come to your house?

Have you called the helpline? When I was having a hard time, the lady I spoke to gave me the number of a local counsellor. I never got around to phoning her though as things resolved themselves.

bumperlicious · 03/10/2007 16:48

i called an LLL helpline the other day but didn't have any solutions. the bf councellor didn't know what to say except just give me advice on how to manage it, and suggested going to dr's to get LO checked over. the thing is she is not doing it every feed.

Jamantha · 03/10/2007 17:07

Bumper, how much are you paying for CO? (hope you don't mind me asking)

bumperlicious · 03/10/2007 17:20

it's about £35 i think. usually a bit more for the first session. of course i don't mind you asking btw!

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/10/2007 17:21

Bumper, is there any discernable pattern to it? or is it completely random?

It's possible that there may be a pattern that you aren't aware of. Could you start a sort of diary noting times she does it and any relevant external factors, like has her nappy been changed, is she tired or just awake etc?

Sorry if you've been through all of this before. And obviously I'm no expert so feel free to tell me to fark orf!

I hope the CO can help. I can't remember whether she was forceps/ventouse delivery which I understand can make feeding difficult due to neck stiffness. The CO will be able to fix that from what I've read.

I wish I'd known about COs when DS was a baby as the more I read about it, the more convinced I am that's what caused our feeding problems. He got completely wedged against my pelvis and when he was finally delivered by section, he had an inch deep bruise right the way across his forehead, and his skull plates were so malformed it looked like he had horn buds. I'm wondering if it's too late to get him done by a CO

Jamantha · 03/10/2007 17:40

LO had CO at a few weeks, which helped her gape and thus her latch. I was amazed by what the woman did. We had 2 sessions at £30 each by the way, the second as a follow up, the benefits were seen the afternoon after the first session.

bumperlicious · 03/10/2007 17:54

jamantha, that's great! mine is expensive (though average for round here) but he's lovely & specialises in babies and pregnant women.

daisy, good idea, doesn't seem to be a pattern, but maybe i will try that after we've moved.

you can see an osteopath at any age. i guess it's more effect when they are younger but might be worth a go.

daisy you might appreciate this. thanks for your support x

Jamantha · 03/10/2007 18:05

You moving far, Bumper? I was still hoping we could meet up one day?

And eeek, guess what I did at the weekend? I agreed to be photographer ay my niece's wedding! I take a lot of photos and think I do get some good shots, but haven't done anything like that before. LO is going to be bridesmaid, so it'll be a big, busy day for us. Thankfully it's in 2009 so I've got some time to prepare, and hopefully practice.

bumperlicious · 03/10/2007 18:08

no same town jamantha, would be great to meet up when I'm settled.

Jamantha · 03/10/2007 18:10

Cool. Let me know when that is.

daisyandbabybootoo · 03/10/2007 18:12

shitey shitey shite.

I just got an email from my BF. She has been living in Canada for the last two years as her DH is in the army and is teaching at the Canadian Sandhurst. She is going to be in Blighty in two weeks time and will be passing Leeds. Guess where I will be....blardy Belgium. I'm sooo gutted as she is the best best friend I've ever had and I miss her so much.

Her DH is going to London to see the queen....he has been awarded an MBE! How cool is that?

Bumper I'd seen that link before. Some of the reasons are a bit repetitive I thought, but there is some usefulstuff on there.

Right teatime for everyone. Why does babyboo always want food at the same time we do? It doesn't matter when wwe eat either!

annobal · 03/10/2007 18:15

Evening all, I'm going out tonight with rl friends

It is embarrassing quite how excited i am.

annobal · 03/10/2007 18:18

Daisy, sorry about your bf. Just think how much fun you'll have in belgium. v cool about the mbe tho.

Ria, your poor ds. at least they seem to be doing something now.

Jamantha · 03/10/2007 18:35

So you should ecxited, Annobal - get out there and have fun!

annobal · 03/10/2007 18:46

I've just found some cot sheets. Anyone want them before I use them for dusters?

annobal · 03/10/2007 18:47

Just realised that makes it sound like I dust

annobal · 03/10/2007 18:48

Cot sheets are plain white stretchy ones from Mothercare I think.

bumperlicious · 03/10/2007 19:17

sputnik · 03/10/2007 19:24

Ria, sounds like you've had some good results today for your DH and DS1. Good that the school are finally taking your concerns seriously.

Jamantha, was just picturing your DD bridesmaiding from heer pushchair, then you said it was in 2009! I forget people plan these things so far in advance, my own wedding was organised in 6 weeks due to me getting pg with DD

bumperlicious · 03/10/2007 19:29
