Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
oooggs · 31/08/2007 19:48

well we have done it, dts in seperate cots and we have moved out of their room!!!!!! Will I sleep any better????? We will see

our room still not finished so we have set up camp in the front room , it is only for a couple of weeks and we are off with the caravan next week anyway

I do feel a bit lost but their room looks like a nursery now we have moved the kingsized bed out

thinking of you and your dad maveta and your mil elkiedee

elkiedee · 31/08/2007 20:14

All of those sometimes have an effect - he's just been out in the pram while I got a takeaway. I'm hoping he'll be happy in the bathroom and then I'll probably just try lying down with him. dp has squeaked onto a train and will probably be home around 10.30/11. And I had a long chat with a friend who lives a few streets away. She's offered help and support from tomorrow and my dad will, I think, Sunday or next week if I need it.

And if dp's mum just needs support and visits in hospital and settling back into her flat, D & I have a party to go to - 2 pm until late Saturday and/or Sunday - and a couple of mum and baby things on Mon/Tue. If that sounds heartless, it's not meant to be, Mike needs to know that we'll be ok while he's doing what he needs to. If it turns out to be worse than that I will go to take him to visit very briefly if that's possible and then I'll have to entertain him in the canteen or something. Young children don't make good hospital visitors for any length of time.

Anyway, enough droning, is anyone else around who can tell us what they're up to? If you're around, see you later, I must take the little one up.

StealthPolarBear · 31/08/2007 21:03

trying to stop the screaming

UnderPesha · 31/08/2007 21:18

We've had alot of screaming here tonight too finally seem to have got him to sleep though, dps just taken him upstairs. His tooth is coming through more atm,was just one corner before iyswim, now the rest of it is breaking through and its really red and swollen looks so sore

Elkie and spb hope you have both managed to settle your babies now.

StealthPolarBear · 31/08/2007 21:33

ouch to tooth!
Yes, settled now thanks, glad you have too, he's in bed, which is where I'm going in a sec, good night everyone xx

nappynuttynormabutty · 31/08/2007 21:50

Sorry to hear about all the screaming. Hope they're all settled now

Erin's in bed and I'm going too, blimey me in bed before 10pm...that's unheard of these days .

elkiedee · 31/08/2007 22:17

He settled quite well in the end, had half a feed, listened quietly to a phone conversation between my mum and me and shut his eyes while I was still reading his bedtime story. I tend to use phones on speaker phone a lot at the moment, not for that reason but I wonder if D recognises his dad, his grandparents and our friend J on the phone now, as he's spent a fair amount of time with all those people.

mammyjo · 31/08/2007 22:49

Evening all. Here goes for a mammoth post following a very very long catch up of the last few days!

No, I didnt get eaten by a lion or a tiger in Longleat! Went there Tuesday, then up to Birmingham for sea life centre and cadburyworld on Wednesday, stayed overnight in hotel, then West Midlands safari park on Thursday. Very busy few days, knackering, but really fab family fun had by all!
Thanks for all the happy birthday wishes, and thankyou to oooggs for ffions 5th month birthday!!

Ellie, had a peek at vincent, oh nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! Can you give me the link to the yahoo group sling thing? Think I will get a mei tai after those on here seem to rate them highly.

KHIN, dont have insomnia but do have trouble sleeping at times. I tend to use relaxation and breathing techniques. You have probably tried this already, but just thought I would mention it.

Katy, glad you are feeling better. Hope you have managed to settle T.

Maveta, thinking of you and your dad. I can understand what you mean about sounding dry about things. I have lost 2 of my aunts to cancer and the only way I used to be able to talk about their illness was in my work way (I look after children with cancer). Had to think of it in a matter of fact, giving information kind of way. Couldnt think of it too personally as I found it too difficult IYSWIM. Look after yourself xxxxx

Oooggs, I am hoping that tonight will be better for you. Sending many many sleep vibes your way! >>

Welcome bubbsy! I am Jo, 34 years old (just!), dh 33, ds 4 and dd 5 months. I am in South Wales and work as a childrens nurse.

Elkie, glad your evening is going ok. Bit scary about your MIL. Hope she is ok.

Runny, grrrr to your MIL. They are sent to try us!!

Pesha, dont really know what to say with regard to your SIL, she seems to be a complete law unto herself.

Right, think that will do. Hope everyone is doing ok. SOL, hope you have had a good hol. Night all xxxx

elkiedee · 31/08/2007 23:04

Well, dp is back home. He's planning to do another day return to Kings Lynn tomorrow and then go out with us on Sunday. Well, at least Danny and I have plans to go out tomorrow.

Poor dp, he was sad to have missed out on the bedtime story, he's just had a read of it himself.

runnyhabbit · 31/08/2007 23:18

Having a pants night

StealthPolarBear · 01/09/2007 07:21

What time did he get home runny?
When we called assistence people out they left me waiting for about 3 hours (was during the day, but in the sweltering sun and I was 9 month pg!) When he got there he pulled his van pointing in the wrong direction (rather than just in front of my car) and expected me to help him push it!!!

liath · 01/09/2007 07:36

Quickie post!

Hope DH got back eventually Runny.

Off on holiday for a week. Ds went down last night in his cot and stayed there asleep until 3am. Bloody brilliant for him! Hope it continues....I WILL get that baby out of my bed eventually [determined emoticon]

Thoughts with Maveta for your dad & Elkiedee for MIL.

StealthPolarBear · 01/09/2007 09:19

runnyhabbit · 01/09/2007 11:36

Morning all

After last night saga, dh finally got home 3.39am this morning. Nearly 8hrs after he broke down. Shocking really.

runnyhabbit · 01/09/2007 11:39

Great news for all those who are finally sleeping.

We were doing well on the sleep front, until last night.

Never mind.

Maveta & Elkie - thinking of you and your families.

xx

CaptainDippy · 01/09/2007 12:30

Boo! Not much time to post as just about to make dinner for the hungry hoards in my house ....

Glad DH got back ok runny..... Thinking of your dad maveta - let us know when you have any more news .... How is your DH's mum Elkie? Erm. Erm. Erm. Can remember anything else.....

I'm tired, all a bit full-on here ..... went out for NCT Mum's Night Out last night, yummy Tapas, very nice. Supposed to be seeing an old school friend today but she can't make it so we might go to the beach for a couple of hours instead ......

Did I mention I was tired!!?

StealthPolarBear · 01/09/2007 13:08

8 hours!! Your poor DH
Glad you had a good night Dippy, enjoy the beach
PILs coming over later for tea

elkiedee · 01/09/2007 13:39

dp's gone back to get his mum something from her flat and to visit her again, and I'm about to change D into his best babygro and take him out to a party. He's just getting grizzy again, and this is post-feed, but we had an ok morning and hopefully he'll be fine once we get out. I think dp's mum will be ok healthwise but there's a longer term issue about her looking after herself. The flat's in a dreadful state and she thinks the Council will throw her out if she turns to them. The thing is, she wants dp to do it rather than turning to anyone else, a bit hard when we live 100 miles away. Just getting around the town takes dp ages, with hospital and mum's estate in different directions/bus routes from town.

elkiedee · 01/09/2007 13:40

runny, I still think it's disgraceful that your dh couldn't get help to get home earlier than that, glad he's home safely.

Dippy, hope the beach is fun.

Take care all, see ya later.

mammyjo · 01/09/2007 18:25

Wow, its very quiet here today!
Elkie, hope you had a good afternoon out. You too dippy, hope the beach was nice. Weather here a bit pants so def no beach for me!

Runny, glad your dh got home safely (albeit much later than he should have).

Just me and Ffion until tomorrow morning as dh and ds have gone off on a fishing trip. They camped last night and tonight too. Have got The Holiday on dvd to watch. A good girlie film that I would never get to watch with them both here!

Idreamofchocolate · 01/09/2007 19:06

Gosh, yes very quiet indeed...have you all got lives or something?

Maveta - thinking of you and your dad x.

Elkie - also thinking of you and your MIL x.

Mammyjo - I watched The Holiday a few weeks back...a good old girlie film, highly recommended. Especially with a bottle of wine and some chocolate

Well, went shopping today as all Em's winter school dresses & skirts have become obscenely short on her! I have the joyous task of ironing on labels onto all the new kit, and sticking labels onto all the new pencils etc (she's going into year 1, and they're now allowed to take a pencil case in. Woohoo, big girls!). I might have had to treat myself to some yummy new winter boots . Well I thougt I'd better get them now before it actually gets cold, by which time they will have sold out of everything in my size. So we're bound to have an Indian summer now!

S is knackered and is already asleep. She's a little treasure and is now sleeping through (madly touching wood here as I type this). Her 2 bottom teeth are so nearly through, so she spends her day with her entire fist shoved in her mouth, drooling madly.

OK, need to rustle up some food and look for a decent film on cable....

CaptainDippy · 01/09/2007 19:51

The Holiday is a great film MJ - enjoy! Enjoy the Peace & Quiet too!

Have a lovely evening EM< hope you find a good film to watch.

I am feeling and thinking life is bollocks. Great.

oooggs · 01/09/2007 19:53

you ok dippy?

CaptainDippy · 01/09/2007 19:57

Just fed-up, I guess .......

How areyou oogggs, hon??
