Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
StealthPolarBear · 30/08/2007 23:25

I'm getting excited about having a glass of water and going to bed
We really know how to live
Although a polar bear holding a glass is quite impressive. Opposable thumbs, you know

StealthPolarBear · 30/08/2007 23:28

well fine
I'll just sit here and play with my fish
and do that cute rolling over thing in the hope I'll get picked as an extra for some advert

elkiedee · 30/08/2007 23:35

Love the new name stealth - or SPB?

Should go to bed now as tomorrow may start early. Looking forward to the weekend as at least 5 am waking doesn't mean giving up on sleep entirely. And have been invited to a party which starts in baby friendly hours.

Hoping to finally get to an NCT coffee morning, have had an email inviting but she's missed off the date (though I believe she means Tuesday).

StealthPolarBear · 31/08/2007 06:10

Sorry elkie had already stealthed off to bed
When's your party?

StealthPolarBear · 31/08/2007 06:13

just clicked on "last 15 mins" and i'm the only one about
still, getting on better with the expressing than i was yesterday
come on dippy - or are you at a wacky warehouse at the moment?

oooggs · 31/08/2007 07:39

I was/am up Katy - but didn't turn on - was sat in front room fuming at my lack of sleep

Erin up at midnight, Jack at 1am, Erin at 4am, Jack at 5am (he didn't go back to sleep til 6.30am!!!!) now they are both up and talking to each other on the floor.

James still in bed, thinking of putting them in own cots tonight for more sleep but that they are so big so quick.

Just taken photo of them in cot this morning before I took them out as could be the last time they are in together.

StealthPolarBear · 31/08/2007 08:32

oh oooggs
Will putting them in on cots help? Will they not cry for each other? Or are they just too big now?
Sounds so sweet that they talk to each other.

maveta - if you log on, thinking about you today xx

StealthPolarBear · 31/08/2007 08:33

I don't mean too big to cry btw - just that you have no option
Unable to string a sentence together today

Idreamofchocolate · 31/08/2007 08:39

Oooggs - nightmare night for you, the horrors of not enough sleep, coupled with the prospect of looking after 3 dcs today - no wonder you are .

It's Emmy by the way. I think this diet is starting to weigh on my mind......

Maveta - Ignore, Ignore, IGNORE the horoscope. All horoscopes are, IMHO, a total load of bollocks. They are written such that you can read whatever you want into them, and I'm sure they cause more worry than comfort. Try to look forward to a positive outcome to your dad's op.. Thinking of you honey xxx

CaptainDippy · 31/08/2007 08:50

Horoscopes is absolute bolleaux inho - ignore, ignore, ignore .....

Morning - nope not at Wacky Warehouse () though I do feel like I've been hit over the head with something blunt and heavy - just can't seme to crack this early morning rising with P and DD1 woke up at 4am and was screaming and carrying on cos I told her to go back to back - Argh!!!!!!

Ahem.

Loving new name Katy -

P crying, hate to think what other 2 are doing to her - found a massive lump of Humzinger in her mouth yesterday!!!! Best go and rescue her - back later when I've got 2 down for nap and 1 out with friend ........

Idreamofchocolate · 31/08/2007 08:53

Humzinger CD? Que?

bubbsy · 31/08/2007 09:22

Hi,

is anybody here, im new to this and dont really know what to do

runnyhabbit · 31/08/2007 09:25

RANT ALERT

Dh (after a very long day at work) had to drop some bits off at his parents (for his dad) Was only there a few mins, when as he's leaving, his mum starts talking about here looking after the boys when I go back to work. He is through the door at this point telling his mum he's tired, can they talk about again, and really she should be talking to me, not dh. (She will looking after them one morning a week when I go back) She takes no notice of dh, and the conversation continues like this -

mil - I'll need a double buggy, can't expect J to walk as far as me.
dh - right, well.......
mil - I'll look out for a cheap one for you then.
dh - If you'll think you'll need one thats your decision
mil - well, you'll be able to sell it on ebay afterwards
dh - you want us to pay for it...
mil - well I can't afford it
dh - bye mum

Dh was soo angry. He never gets wound up by his mum, but it was more the fact that she didn't ask outright.
She is not a nasty ot mean person at all. She does think we're loaded (we're not) What doesn't help is that she bought sil a buggy when her dd was born "to help them out"
And as for not being able to afford it - pil have been on 3 hols this year (Australia, Spain & Cyprus) and are going to spain again in a few wks.

The hardest thing is that when mil winds me up, dh calms me down. This time she's wound us both up.

Tell me ladies, are we over-reacting?

runnyhabbit · 31/08/2007 09:32

hi bubbsy

Welcome to the madness

elkiedee · 31/08/2007 09:46

Sorry to hear you're still finding things tough CD, I don't know what Humzinger is either!

Oooggs, sorry for your lack of sleep. Amused though that at the same time as fuming you felt the need to photograph the twins in cot moment, that must be that babies being programmed to be cute so you love them no matter what they put you through I guess.

Katy, I saw your posts earlier but try to resist getting online until after dp has left the house, simply because the time in between waking up and him leaving is time when I can do the things I won't really feel able to do later - reading a book/newspaper articles, eating breakfast, having a bath and washing my hair, dull stuff like that. That's why I hit the keyboard about 9 am or so usually.
Idreamofchocolate, lol at new name.

runny, no, I don't think you and dh are overreacting. I can see why she wants a double buggy and that she might not want to pay for it as opposed to not being able to afford it, but it's so annoying when people manipulate you into agreeing to something rather than saying upfront what they're after.

Perhaps you could get one secondhand eg on ebay, or here? I don't know if those end up on freecycle - I was really surprised by what does as my mum got two travel systems that way, one which I'm using at home and one at hers 200 miles north of me. I've joined the local freecycle and there is lots of baby stuff if you're able to be quick off the mark.

nappynuttynormabutty · 31/08/2007 09:46

Welcome Bubbsy!

RH - at your MIL. I don't think you're overreacting.

Loving the name changes SPB & choc!

So I'm off out to meet some cloth nappy users today...we're all bringing some food. So of course, I forgot to get anything . In bed last night I remember. Convo goes like this

me: What can I take tomorrow, I forgot to get anything?
dh: hmm...apple pie, you could make one in the morning
me: what, with no apples?
dh: there's some apples downstairs
me: they're not the kind of apples you make apple pie with tho
dh: hm...can't you just put apple sauce in it then?
me: PMSL

elkiedee · 31/08/2007 09:51

Welcome bubbsy

Can you tell us a little about yourself and your baby? Someone cleverer than me can maybe post a link to the details of who posts here so you can find out about us, or you can click on the profiles for those of us who have one.

So you can have some idea who you're talking to, I'm one of the first time mums on the thread, my baby was due in April but actually born in May, I'm 38 and on maternity leave from my job as a secretary in a council legal department, and I live in London. Some of the people on the thread have been talking to each other on here since July, I'm a relative newbie as I joined in October but didn't post regularly until April and then my baby was taken back into hospital so for a while there I was a bit buried in my own anxieties.

Glad the potty chair seems to have cracked it, Luce! Sorry you had such a nightmare yesterday though ... I absolutely hate those "where do I start?????" moments - and they happen A LOT in this household, trust me!!!

No runny, not unreasonable AT ALL sweetie - @ your MIL, the bloody cheek of it - how old is your oldest? Every sympathy here, my outlaws are as tight as anything with us / the girls and then go on four or five forgein hols a year and seven or eight UK trips - Grrrrrr! {{{{Hugs}}}} If it helps, there are often double buggies on Freecycle and you can pick them up cheaply in your local Free Ads, you shouldn't have to pay for it though ..... cheeky mare!!

Loving the new name EM - I dream of it too, constantly it seems! Trying to cut down - baby wobble flab turning into wobble flab .... not good!

Humzingers are FAB. Humzingers are 2nd down on this webpage ..... my girls love them and they are good for them ... bonus!

Aaaaah, peace and quiet for a few mins .....younger 2 napping, DD1 out with a friend. DH coming home lunchtime and has a 1/2 day as an old school friend of his and his wife and their 2 little boys are down for the week and we're taking them to the Farm. Roll on lunchtime ......

CaptainDippy · 31/08/2007 10:06

Thanks Luce - I am glad it gets easier - that's what keeps me going!!

CaptainDippy · 31/08/2007 10:06
