Octo, sorry to hear about your MIL.

Maveta, it depends where in Norfolk you're going but trains go from Kings Cross or Liverpool Street. I believe Kings Lynn where dp's mum lives is about 100 miles from here, and the train perhaps takes 2 hours. I'm a bit vague because I've only done it once or twice. Are you planning to stay in London or fly over and head straight for Norfolk, and if the latter, are there flights from near you to Stansted Airport out in Essex? (There are train connections to there and presumably buses as well).

normabutty · 31/07/2007 10:51

Oh Octo, so about your MIL, tinking of you and all your family here too.

Ange - sorry to hear you're feeling rough.

Hi to everyone I might miss out!

Maveta - hope things go ok with your boss.

Eddas - sorry you had such a crappy night...think you should have elbowed dh back!!!

I've seen that penis thing too (ok, ok, I know none fo you are suprised to hear that )...was a bit freaky tho when he hung weights off it...eeeeeewwwwwwwww

Katy44 · 31/07/2007 10:54

morning norma!

normabutty · 31/07/2007 10:54

oops, sorry about the typos!

Off to baby massage this afternoon, it's the first class so hoping it goes well. Am trying to make Erin wait just a little for her bottle so she doesn't want fed in the middle of the class!

runnyhabbit · 31/07/2007 11:01

Morning all

Saw HV yesterday, as it looks like I have PND Have started a thread under feeling depressed. Am seeing dr next wk to rule out anything medical (anaemia etc)

Dh is the only other person that knows about it. Just not ready to discuss it with rl family/friends yet.

Going to need you ladies more than ever x

geordiemacminx · 31/07/2007 11:26

hey ladies... just popping in before go off to meet katy.....if she's a 44 stone trucker from dudley i will let you know..

Runny, sorry to hear you are sufferi g fro m pnd, but glad you are getting help. you know we are all here for you, either on here or by email!!!

elkiedee · 31/07/2007 12:50

runnyhabit, I'm sorry that you're feeling down. Well done for plucking up the courage to tell dh, the health visitor and mn people about it. I guess I should say I noticed your own thread because I was looking through that section myself.

nutty, hope baby massage goes well. A local postnatal group set up by one of the health visitors is having a session on Thursday afternoon, so I'm looking forward to giving it a go. I know we've talked about nappies off and hosedown clothes (the famous katy44 I think) but what happens if your baby's just asleep already at the start?

Bugmum · 31/07/2007 13:09

Hi all,
Haven't posted for an age, as I just can't keep up; some of you chatterers know each other so well now, that it is tricky to skim read posts for the more general ones! But I have managed to read some of this thread, and I wanted to send my thoughts to runny and to elkie, and to say that depression is just like a broken leg or whatever: it's crap, it's really awful, but it is just an illness/injury and recoverable from. I know you will both know that, but I think people talk about 'admitting' to depression as though it is some kind of minor crime. Best luck to you both.

G is lovely now: a huge, strong boy who rolled at 9 weeks and has been trying to move further ever since! At 13 weeks, he is really sociable and laid back, so different from the equally gorgeous DS1 (who at two and a half can count to 200+, but is only now really getting to grips with talking and is still very reserved). G had really horrible dry skin (borderline eczema) but it seems a lot better thanks to the DoubleBase cream/emollient they gave us; am posting this in case it is of use to anyone. Much better than E45.

That's all my news. Hope you are all enjoying your babies either all the time or in between feeling low, and love to all,
Bugmum xx

elkiedee · 31/07/2007 13:21

Bugmum, nice to hear from you and thanks. I do enjoy Danny a lot, at just under 3 months he's chattering away and starting to hold things. My dad who is totally besotted with him is coming round to visit us both this afternoon, and tomorrow I'm going to Highgate Woods as most of my rl postnatal class seem quite keen to continue meeting up.

For those who were looking out for the April 2008 thread, there are now 9 ladies expecting then .

Kneehighinnappies · 31/07/2007 15:25

Hi all my fing internet has been down all morning, forcing me to interact with my kids

octo- sorry to hear about your mil

runny-so sorry to hear about pnd
to both of you you are in my thoughts.

everyone else hope you are all good. XxxxxxX

44StoneTruckerFromDudley · 31/07/2007 15:37

Yeah but GMM you were 45 stone

normabutty · 31/07/2007 15:42

PMSL Katy!!!

Baby massage was really good. Erin didn't cry and was very smiley all the way through. She's now fast asleep tho...even thought she's due a feed

Katy44 · 31/07/2007 15:45

Hi everyone
Back from a nice lunch with GMM and Charlie, Charlie was very good and slept through the meal while ~T had a winge as usual
runny, sorry to hear about the PND, hope you are able to get the help you need.
hi bugmum and elkie. I'm not sure what you can do if the baby's asleep at the start, but I know at mine she was saying you're really watching the technique so you can do it yourself - if you massage your baby at the same time, great, if not it doesn't really matter.
T just did a huge leaky poo on his bf pillow, has been sick down himself twice and now a 3rd time while i typeed. better go and change

Katy44 · 31/07/2007 16:25

x post norma only just noticed
glad she enjoyed it

Katy44 · 31/07/2007 16:49

I went into Sainsbury's this afternoon and the woman in front of me at the checkout had about 20 jars of Sainbury's own mint sauce.
Do you think she has 30 lambs in the freezer?

normabutty · 31/07/2007 16:56

that's cos it's only 3p per jar!

leakyR · 31/07/2007 17:03

Katy - Maybe she's got a flock of unsuspectimg lambies in her back garden

Octo - thinking of mil and family

Runny - you're so brave to talk about pnd. Things will get better - we're all here for you.

Norma - glad E liked massage. George has one every night after his bath, it's part of his bedtime routine. He loves it. Never happier than when he's nekkid.

Thought I'd miss all the sunshine waiting for highchair to be delivered, but it came early pm. Have been for a walk by the Abbey and ended up having to bf G under a tree! Lots of people about but don't think anyone noticed.Don't really care if they did.Am getting bolder with public norkage

Katy44 · 31/07/2007 17:10

but it's MINT SAUCE
leaky, I know what you mean about the public bf, I do try to be discreet but if I do flash I don't worry about it - the chances of someone looking at you at the right moment are tiny (so I tell myself)
Am finding public bf very hard though as T wriggles so much when not on his pillow and I can't hold on to him and feed him at the same time! I can see me not going out very much!
