hi elkie

leakyR · 04/07/2007 09:20

Weeonion - I've just called the CTF helpline. I've been receiving child benefit since 16 May but no CTF cheque yet. They said mine had been issued on June 28th but can take upto 15 days to reach you after that date. So if it hasn't shown up in a week or so i have to call tham back.

Katy44 · 04/07/2007 09:45

Sounds like there's loads of us having CTF problems, I thought I was the only one
He's calm now...wish I could remember anything anyone said!

octo · 04/07/2007 09:46

Big sympathies to those with thrush - it was sooo painful - but ernie never got it which was good.

I am so tired now with the feeding and night times - but have decided that will carry on with the breastfeeding and give one dreamfeed bottle at night to try and fill him up. I really want to carry on - like Pesha says - and I am stubborn too! Will keep bf and try solids at 4 months. Hopefully that way I've got all my options left open!

Off for a bath while ernie asleep

Emmymummy · 04/07/2007 09:54

Morning. Finally managed to catch up, but can't really remember anything, sieve brain I am .

Pesha & Elkie - I do admire your perseverance with the bf'ing. I would have gone nuts by now if I was you. I remember being stuck to the sofa for hours and hours feeding Em when she was a baby and it really got me down. Luckily S feeds much more quickly and is often more interested in having a good look 'round and smiling and chirping at me, so makes it less time consuming and much less patience is required.

SOKL - yes it was Longleat CentreParcs - have you been? Next time we go I'm planning to spend some time at the spa - didn't manage it this time. It would be a fab place to go on a hen w/e, or just with a group of girlies as you can really get yourself pamapered, pissed and chilled out without having to move very far !

Right, still need to fill out my Child Benefit form.....I'm not very organised.

WestCountryLass · 04/07/2007 10:23

Haven't done my Child Benefit yet as cannot find his birth certificare

Octo, sorry you are so tired, can you sleep in the day when your middle one is at pre-school?

Has anyone tried fennel tea to increase supply? I do think you need to eat lots of cake and chocolate to keep supply up and that is not conducive to weight loss...

Pesha · 04/07/2007 10:31

Woo-hooo!! D slept from 10pm ish til 7am only waking once at 3.15 for a feed!! 5hours is a record for him and no cluster feeding in the morning was wonderful!

And he slept in his gro-bag, dont think thats why he slept so well cos he was so settled all day yesterday but he def likes it! Which is just as well cos i have now bought 4! I forgot id placed a bid on another one that ive won. They are so cheap though, only £3 or £4 each inc. p&p!

Liath have written down your cake recipe, looks fab! My dad is looking after my dog when we're away next week so might give him 1 and have the other 1 for us to scoff on the journey!

Luce and WO - sorry to hear you're both suffering with thrush. I had something i thought might be thrush a couple weeks ago but it went on its own. Thought it had come back yesterday - had white spot on nipple and really painful but seems to have gone today!

elkiedee · 04/07/2007 10:37

Octo, good luck with feeding.

Emmymummy, I'm not really persisting that much, just trying to continue getting those pathetic drops of breastmilk out and into Danny somehow. I find bottle feeding and expressing boring. At the beginning I hadn't realised the work involved in breastfeeding and that may have been one of the reasons I screwed up, but at least there's a hormone buzz that definitely isn't there for me with a pump (a friend tells me she really bonded!) and isn't the same with a bottle as the times when I really felt him latched on.

When was your baby born? They only backdate child benefit 3 months plus the CTF is dependent on it. The form is long and repetitive although someone, CD I think, was able to make an updated online claim, worth looking into as you're a second timer.

normabutty · 04/07/2007 10:42

Morning all...I'm not having a good morning cos no parcels came with the post . I was expecting 4 to come today...but wasn't in when post came and am now wondering if the postie forgot to put a card through the door

Hi to everyone, hope you all have a nice day!

CaptainDippy · 04/07/2007 10:48

Morning! DD3 is being an "ickle pickle"! Think she's gone down now (I hope...) We moved her into the spare room yesterday & I don't think she is best pleased .... slept a lot better last night though - 5am wake up call is still killing me though.....

It is bright & sunny here ... hoping it stays that way as I'm seeing a friend I haven't seen in aaaaggggeeees & we're hoping to go to the Mini Railway .....

Yey Pesha - hope you are feeling more human and more today - {{{{hugs}}} to you hon - Don't let the fact that your DP's Bro's LO seems an easier baby than D - they are all different & all lovely - just try to rise above it & do whatever you need to do - Trust your instincts - you are doing so well, esp to still be BF - It ain't easy - You are a star!! (Esp with 2 others in tow, eh!!?)

KHIN - {shock] @ your DH purchasing ANOTHER house!!!!!!! Good grief - I would be completely fuming - men just don't think do they!!!!!? Is he bonkers?? Have you have a chat to chat it through with him yet??

Glad you enjoyed seeing DP's mum yesterday Elkie - great stuff that D was so lovely for her!

Waspelly - Great that you are enjoying some exclusive time with T - even if she is being a pickle at night. @ your in-laws having C for week .... wow ......

Liath - Thank you for the recipe - I have been intrigued about this beer & maramlade cake ..... might have to give it a go .....

CaptainDippy · 04/07/2007 10:50

Yes, Elkie - it was me who said they updated their BD Claim online (well remembered!! ) It's v.easy Emmy - give it a go ......

I get when the post doesn't come too, norma ....... sad lives we lead, eh!!!? Perhaps it is just late?? Our post often doesn't come til 12pm!!!

CaptainDippy · 04/07/2007 10:50

Thanks cd - at least when things get me down in rl i know i can always come here for lots of support

I actually completely forgot to get d weighed on monday which i think iscos of all the support and reassurance ive got here and on my bf thread i started last week. Reassured me so much it completely slipped my mind which is a good thing cos i do get abit hung up on their weights.

Poo forgot what else i was gonna say

normabutty · 04/07/2007 11:07

Well just had another postie (had letters earlier while out) with one parcel...it was sent on Monday...so where the hell is my parcel from friday and the one from the weekend????

CaptainDippy · 04/07/2007 11:09

Morning Pesha & JM!!

Don't get too hung up on D's weight sweetie - bollocks to it - if he is happy & smiley & seems fine to you, then he probably is - He is a gorgeous wee boy who is lavished with love and affection by an amazing mummy who cares for him & loves him unconditionally - What else does he need!!!!? Haven't had P weighed for aaaaaaggggges and am not really planning to either, esp as I have got her into a routine of sleeping in the mornings now .....

Mmmmmmmmmmmm.....

Was going to say - Octo - yes, go with Option C - wean him ealier!! Grill up the steaks ..... ......

Pesha · 04/07/2007 11:10

For those of you with children 2yrs plus if you have a record of their height at 2 this height calculator is quite interesting. And meant to be much more accurate than the thing in their red books.

CaptainDippy · 04/07/2007 11:10

Is it from a company that you can chase up norma?? Glad the post came though .... how ironic ... my post just came too .....Could make a rude joke, but I won't!!

normabutty · 04/07/2007 11:14

lol am thinking of ringing sorting office just in case postie forgot to put a crd through the dorr and have emailed sender to check when it was posted

CaptainDippy · 04/07/2007 11:15

Katy - Your card & coins just came in the post ... Thank you hon!! It had been opened & then put into a plastic bag by the post people with a note say "with our sincerest apologies" .... ....

Katy44 · 04/07/2007 11:22
