Jas · 16/06/2007 20:49

I'm free all weekend, mrm. Just let me know which day.
I hope you enjoy your last night with your friends

What other time consuming activities are you volunteering me for csws? I could do the email, but would probably forget after the first one.

I have let my dds drink fruit shoot before now. Will you all still talk to me?

at the lie in CS.

We've been out all day and I'd love a lie in tomorrow but can't see it happening. I have to do loads of shopping as I'm going to spend all morning Monday baking cakes for my friend who does a sandwich round to sell. If they sell ok it may become a regular thing

ChasingSquirrels · 16/06/2007 20:54

i'll talk to you, dunno if i worded it right below, i meant that ds1 has fruit shoots and sausage rolls and I bf (well not ds1 anymore!)

Jas · 16/06/2007 21:25

That was how I read it. Did you think we were imagining you bf ds1 and giving ds2 fs and sr?

ChasingSquirrels · 16/06/2007 21:30

lol - no, when i just saw it again i read it as being in the anti fruit-shoot and sausage rolls camp.

CantSleepWontSleep · 16/06/2007 22:30

for message from grandad.

I understood correctly cs.

Yum for baking. Are you making scrummy flapjacks?

Very quiet on here tonight, but guess that's because everyone's gone out.
Going to have an earlyish night I hope, so going up soon. Room here is light by 5am so I'm not getting much sleep after that (have blackout blind at home as have never been any good at sleeping in daylight).

Phoenix · 16/06/2007 23:05

Evening (if anyone's here)

I've been doing research into pre-school playgroups near us. I found one that takes 2.6 years to 5 years but I haven't got a clue where to start to get him a place or even if i need to think about getting him in yet. Can anyone help me a bit?

We are very lucky with Lewis he's like me in that he can sleep anywhere, blackout blind or not

Did I tell you that FIL had a tumour in his kidney and had to have his whole kidney removed? Well he had his op yesterday, he's still a bit out of it but ok iykwim. MIL spent most of today with him and they only managed to get about a dozen words out of him.

My friend trace2's little baby went back into hospital yesterday as she was very jaundiced and sleepy. I've heard from trace today and they're still keeping her in. She is under double uv lights and has to work down to no lights before she'll be home. It's trace's ds 5th birthday party tomorrow so i'm going there with Lewis and dh is at work 7am - 7pm.

Fingers crossed the roofers will be here tomorrow otherwise they are going to delay the joiner further as he doesn't want to be doing stuff in the attic with the roofers working above him.

I'm off to bed now goodnight all

Jas · 17/06/2007 08:38

Phoenix - I hope traces dd gets home soon, and she manages to enjoy her ds' birthday.
Also crossing everthing that the roofers get to work today.
I hope your FIL had a restful night, and is a bit more with it today.

Pre-school. Phone up and arrange to visit as many as you can in your area, so you have something to compare.. Put ds on waiting lists for everything you like if you want him to start at 2.6. Talk to parents who have children at the nurseries if you can, but bear in mind everyone will recommend the one they use. (Who is going to say the nursery they send their child to is rubbish, but it will let you know different areas that different nurseries focus on. )My dds went to a big one which I liked, but my friends dd hated it and preferred a really small family-tye nursery.
Also bear in mind that you will be paying for it until the term after his 3rd birthday (Around April2009).

Cakes - Flapjack, fruit cake, lemon drizzle, and shortbread

God, that was hard saying goodbye... But we had such a good time. Family stuff in the day, then West End at night!
And they bought me a new mobile and dh got a gift voucher to buy tidy trousers because they'd given him lots of jackets they didnt want to take with them, and I said it made his bottom half look even more scruffy! And ds1 got the flashing scooter he's wanted for months, but only if he swopped for his dummies, which they're taking with them to give to poor babies (he wasnt too bad last night, but didnt sleep till 9pm, sucking rabbit's ear). I'll prob talk to them before they fly, but wont see them now for a couple of years at least.

Flame; Grandad is exciting
Jas; i think the fair is Sat 23, so we're free sun 24th.

Flamesparrow · 17/06/2007 10:00

DS's end of penis has ballooned - off to emergency doc

Flamesparrow · 17/06/2007 11:43

Looks like the start of an infection - off to get antibiotic ointment and disps (less likely to rub off with wetness iyswim).

Jas · 17/06/2007 14:05

I hope he gets better quickly. Sounds painful.

Jas · 17/06/2007 14:06

mrm - 24th is ok. I'm out the night before, so maybe not too early

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/06/2007 14:33

Ouch flame - hope it clears quickly.

for goodbyes, but for pressies!

Hope your family, friends and roof are all getting better today pg.

Travelling back home this evening, so unlikely to be online again.
Took dd swimming this morning, and she perfected the art of jumping into the pool (with me catching her, obviously) from the steps.

Flamesparrow · 17/06/2007 19:22

Much more deflated now

Frizbe · 17/06/2007 19:45

yay for deflated ds Flame and for message from Grandad as well

for dd CSWS glad she enjoys swimming. Sounds like you had a good time at your mums and with your friend too

for saying goodbye MRM, but you know you'll see them again, it's amazing how fast the time will fly {{{Hugs}}}
Hows ds today? re the poo thing?
Glad the dummies have gone ok ish, poor bunny with the chewed ear

Jas, yay for the cakes don't want to worry you though, but thought you should know the following info. A friend of mine has looked into selling her cakes to cafes etc round here recently and has been told by them all that she needs to have a basic food hygine cert and needs to get the Environmental Health Office to ok her kitchen at home for cleanliness, before any of them will take her cakes. I'm guessing this will apply to you as well? would be worth checking out, as you don't want to get fined. (if you've not got the cert, you can do it online for about £25.00)
HTH's and doesn't worry you too much.

Phoenix, yay for roof, if I've not already said it and think the nursery question has been answered.

Hi CS, Macca and everyone else!

(long post award again??)

Had a fab time in Brum went to Hotel du Vin and got truely drunk! hurrah, friend lent me her bed as well, bless her, she slept on the futon?! and I reckon I must have snored like a trouper, as fell asleep flat on my back and woke up at 7.30 in the same position!! dozed until 9am, bliss had fab cafe fry up before I came home too, then got back to find out dd2 had thrown up this morning.....just when we thought she was getting better, has had high temp all day, bah!

ChasingSquirrels · 17/06/2007 19:53

T had it a while back - ballinitis - cleared up very quickly with anti-b's (cream and oral medicine), but very scary when I wiped him when doing his nappy and it basically exploded with pus .

sad re the friends, where have they gone?

aww at jumping in swimming, must get back into taking the boys.

ChasingSquirrels · 17/06/2007 19:54

glad you had a good time, dh stays at hotel du vin when he is in brum

Phoenix · 17/06/2007 20:33

No roofers today even though it hasn't rained once all day

We've been to Trace2's ds' birthday party today and they got a phonecall half way thru to say baby Chloe was been discharged from hospital so her dh went to pick her up and i got a chance for a few cuddles, she's so tiny (she only weighed 5lb 8oz) but sooooooooooooo gorgeous.

Flame - ouch for ds hope it gets sorted with the ab's

Friz - for night out in Brum

Jas - Thanks for the nursery info

MRM - for goodbye's but for pressies

csws - for swimming. We haven't took Lew swimming since just before his christening which was last July so we really need to get back into it.

Don't know if i've already said but ds has got his mmr on wednesday, not looking forward to that.

Jas · 17/06/2007 20:50

Frizbe - I am cooking at her house which has been inspected, but have just panicked and called her re Hygiene cert. She has checked it out and because I am doing "low risk foods" under her supervision, I am ok without it. Thanks for thinking of me though.

mustrunmore · 17/06/2007 21:53

Well, thanks for thinknig of ds1's poo Frizbe. Today he pooed on the kitchen floor, and did another when I was out running, but made it to the loo in time for that one. Its still liquid. Def going to go to gp this week I reckon, if we can get an appointment. It started 9 days ago. Do you think thats reason enough to go?

Took till 9.30 for him to go to sleep tonight; he's struggling with no dummy now. But he did find one in his toy box today, and gave it me straight away, to give to my friend for the poor babies He's either very good, or just not quite sneaky enough yet!

Reasonably happy today, as did a slow 6km on the treadmilll, then about half an hour round the park with a friend. Better than nothing I suppose, but I really need to step it up now.

We've decided to really eat down all the odds and ends in the cupboard/freezer, and not do a tesco order till payday on 26th as that might save monet too So I'm going to be asking for ideas for very odd ingredients from now on!!! Did a nice couscous salad today thuogh, and no one ate it...

CantSleepWontSleep · 17/06/2007 22:44

Oh I like a food challenge mrm. Go on then, tell us what you've got left.

I think you are perfectly justified in taking ds1 to the docs. Will you be taking a stool sample with you? Do have fun collecting it if so .

Phew for hygiene cert.

Great news about Chloe pg, but grrr at your roofers.

I can't think of Hotel du Vin - where is it? I always used to stay at my nans when in Brum, apart from one work do, where we stayed at the Copthorne iirc.

Back from parents and v tired, so just a quick post before bed - wanted to log on to see whether I'd won another e-bay auction or not. Am still buying up mini-boden supplies . It's much more fun buying clothes for dd than for me, because I don't have to worry about her being too fat or odd shaped to fit them, and she looks great in everything .

damewashalot · 18/06/2007 07:49

Have scanned through, not got time to read it all now, just can't keep up you talk too much

I now think of you lot when I look at ds3's feet, we have some lovely pirate doodles well they are startrite ones but you know what i mean. this is the only pic i can find on web cgi.ebay.co.uk/Startrite-Tumbles-Canvas-Sandals-Size- 5G_W0QQitemZ230143657026QQihZ013QQcategoryZ3079QQssPageNameZ WDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
