New thread everyone - hope the title is catchy enough

CB - Josh will still look just perfect. Little imperfections can actually increase cuteness!

Glad party went well Numpty. How do you know the exact day pups are due. [confused impy] Do they do ultrasound scans and antenatal classes for the canine population?

Ok Lysette. Are you up for bull's testicles too? Sympathy on Jacob's sleeping patterns - Ryan has alternate nights like that at the mo. Don't know what's going on....

Ceebee74 · 26/05/2007 19:36

HC - forgot to put on my last message how fab you look - you don't look at all fat

Sad news today (puts the chipped tooth in perspective anyway) - my dad had a heart attack this morning . Luckily he is ok but am going over tomorrow to visit and stop with my mum for a few days so I won't be on for a bit. Am ok - a bit shaken and upset but am SO glad he is ok.

Impy - know the date cos dogs are pregnant for 61 days, give or take. You can have them scanned but we didn't and i've been teaching her some breathing exercises etc. She's doing o.k but a bit worried in case she has 12.

PavlovtheCat · 27/05/2007 10:36

Ceebie - I am sorry to hear about your dad's helath, and so that he is ok. I hope he gets well very soon, hugs to you xxx

PavlovtheCat · 27/05/2007 10:39

HC/Impy/ thanks for your messages on my other thread.

Numpty - only just read your post about Devon meet-up. I LURVE fingle bridge - they do the best cream teas and a wonderful place for the children to run/crawl/roll around. What a good spot! We went there the other day with in laws, but it had just closed so we dipped our feet in the river anyway...!
I shall look up the thread and put it in my diary.

PavlovtheCat · 27/05/2007 10:39

Ceebie - scuse bad spelling, not helath - meant Health

PavlovtheCat · 27/05/2007 10:44

Ok, please can I have a cuddle? Had a really bad day. Nothing on the scale of losing a parent or anything but had quite a scare with baby Ryan... still feeling wobbly.

Basically he picked up something from the kitchen floor and swallowed it before I could get to him. Looked like one of those thin plasticy/foil seals you get on small tubes. Then he started being wobbley and falling over from being sat up and I whisked him off to A&E in a panic. (My back is already starting to ache from having to lug him all the way to the taxi rank in his car seat...). Anyway, they were fab at A&E and it's the Spanish NHS equivalent - they x/rayed and examined him and were lovely. They couldn't see anything on the x/ray but said he's got an ear infection which would make him wobbly. Caught me unawares as he hadn't seemed v ill - had been a bit hot the other day and a bit out of sorts but he didn't seem that ill. Anyway, panic over and I'll take him to the docs tomorrow to see if he needs more abs...

Just wanted reassurance/sympathy/hugs from you lovely ladies - I feel so alone here without DP or any family! Roll on Wednesday when the in-laws arrive to take over...

Thanks for listening. Impy x

MaeWest · 27/05/2007 18:49

Sorry you had a bit of a scare Impy, glad you got things sorted. Have a virtual hug on me

ImpyChica · 27/05/2007 18:54

Thanks Maewest. I've just been beating myself up all day about not sweeping every single square inch of the flat...

MaeWest · 27/05/2007 18:56

Babies eat all sorts of odd things, think it's part of their job description!

Beadmum · 27/05/2007 19:35

ceebee - (((hugs))) Thinking of you!!

Impy - (((hugs))) to you as well, hope you have calmed down a bit now, must have been so scary with no-one there for support

jacobandlysette · 27/05/2007 19:44

impy {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}} you mustn't beat yourself up over it and glad that ryan is all ok! apart from the ear infection of course.

just to make you feel a bit better, a friend of mine's son is 10m old now and is into absolutely everything. she uses those liquid capsules that dissolve in the laundry wash and the other week he grabbed one of those and bit into it before she could stop him. and swallowed some of the liquid. she of course got onto the hospital poinsons dept etc and he was absolutely fine. they are more resilient than we give them credit for!!!

but have lots of hugs on me and ds xxxxxxxx and french kisses from jacob too - he's being very free and easy with them at the moment

Impy-(((((xxxxx))))) hugs from the HC household too. How worrying for you especially with DP being away. Hope Ryan feels better soon.

Ceebee and Pavlov-hope you are both OK.

Have noticed some red spots on Sophie's legs, arms, face and back. My initial thought was Chicken Pox but I'm sure the spots looked different when I had it. Will monitor the situation as she isn't ill or anything.

Had to give in to just 30ml of Blossom Hill (the bit left in the bottle) as this afternoon I picked up a book to read to Em and when I opened it it was filthy. I asked her what it was and she said 'bogeys' and laughed. I refused to read it and made her try and clean it but she ended up tearing the paper. Honestly, she wipes bogeys everywhere and I don't know how to stop her. The supermarket checkout had to be the worst place.

Enjoy the rain ladies-not!

Ceebee - so sorry to hear the news, {{{big hugs to you}}}, thinking of you and your family xxx

Oh Impy you poor love having to cope with that on your own - how scary. Glad they were good at the hospital and that it?s nothing too serious. Don?t beat yourself up at all - (I shudder to think what?s lurking on our floors what with the dog and all?) but no one?s house can be totally baby proof at all times, it?s just not possible. Sounds like you coped very well - sit down and have a large tinto!

ImpyChica · 27/05/2007 20:34

Thanks guys - you're all so lovely. Yep, have already hit the tinto, F@F...!

Hope Sophie's ok HC. So she's not got any kind of fever? - Ry seems to break out in a rash whenever he's even slightly hot. Has she been exposed to chicken pox? Finger's crossed it's nothing. They have apparently just started doing a chicken pox vaccination here in Spain - do you get it in the UK too? (Not sure at what age they give it, mind)

Thanks for that story and Jacob kisses, Lysette - just what I needed! I know R's gonna ingest all sorts of inappropriate things before long, he is a boy after all . I just want to protect him for as long as possible.

Twinklemegan · 27/05/2007 21:00

Hugs to Pavlov and CB - So sorry about your dad Pavlov. I hope your dad recovers OK CB.

Impy - hugs to you as well. That sounds really scary - glad he's OK though.

HC - oh I hope it's not chickenpox or any other nasty, but then they say it's best for them to get them young.
