hiya everyone!

well i think i might be in line for Worst Parent of the Year award. i woke up this morning, all snuggled up to dh, and next to me was Zac, fast asleep in his sleeping bag, all snuggled up to me! i have no idea how he got there. i think i must have got up to him at some point in the night and taken him into bed with us, then just sort of, left him there. think the 3 glasses of wine i had last night were 2 glasses too many! blush]blush]blush]blush]blush]blush]blush]blush]blush]

theUrbanDryad · 16/05/2007 19:37

i can't even do properly! {blush]

2Happy · 16/05/2007 19:42

Nope, UD, I think I get that award. Struggling today with ds1 demanding supper at the same time as ds2 demanding milk, trying to feed ds2 while at dining table, not a good position, he posetted all over the place...I bent to try nd clear it up...ds2 still on my lap....I hit his head off the dining table . He screamed. (Though I did not hit my own head off the table to see how much it hurt, Loosh if you're lurking (a friend of ours did this at Loosh's house with her PFB))

Shimmer · 16/05/2007 19:53

Very quiet on here today. Took much less time for me to catch up than usual. Whatcha all up too then????

Lizz my cupcakes turned out goooooood. They've pretty much all gone already though! I gave half to my bro and his gf when they came over earlier and when dp came home from work he scoffed 3 in one go! Actually chopping the tops off wasn't as tricky as i thought it would be. Your flapjacks look yummy Think I'm going to do some chocolate chip cookies tomorrow.

Wilkie I LOVE fish and chips & have just told dp we don't have it nearly often enough.

I also love banana sandwiches!! These however i do have very often... most days at the moment actually, i'm getting quite sick of them.

PMSL at the mad old woman with the toddler RGee. Very impressed you went round to see your new neighbour though! I've never done that before. Not a London thing I guess

Right off to sit in front of the telly for the next few hours. Property Ladder at 8 and Apprentice at 9. Excellent.

2Happy · 16/05/2007 19:57

Ooh... the apprentice... who's going to go this week, do you reckon?!

Wilkie - you've had lots of replies already, you're going to make it to discussions of the day!!

Lizzzombie · 16/05/2007 20:11

Wilks - Can J sit up properly already?
UD - were you on waccy baccy last night? (do you want me to break down neighbours door when they are out, next time its harvest time and nick some for you?) - I could put it in my next batch of cup cakes!!

Lizzzombie · 16/05/2007 20:11

Shimmer - what did you do with the tops of the cup cakes which you saw'd off?

JodieG1 · 16/05/2007 20:18

Wilki - We bought this one last week and Ethan can sit in it now. He likes being higher up so he can see what's going on. When we eat dinner he's either on our laps or in the highchair now. It says from 6 months but it really depends on how well they sit, Ethan sits ok now and doesn't slip at all in it.

JodieG1 · 16/05/2007 20:19

Forgot to say, I made chocolate muffins today and they were yummy. Going to make some cherry ones tomorrow and also a nice chocolate cake with buttercream filling

JodieG1 · 16/05/2007 20:20

To add re the highchar, I just wanted a wipe clean one that doesn't need to grow with them as I get them sat on proper chairs at the table from as soon as they're able. Makes dining out and eating at other people's houses easier and also nice to have everyone sat at the table properly.

Lizzzombie · 16/05/2007 21:01

Ha ha! Jodie's gonna get fa-at! x

Shimmer · 16/05/2007 21:02

Well i ate them of course Lizz

JodieG1 · 16/05/2007 21:23

Lol liz

trixymalixy · 16/05/2007 21:58

Evening everyone!

was awake feeding DS at 3am last night when some farker tried to break into our house !!

I sent DH down to investigate as i had heard a noise and he came back saying that it was nothing.

Went into the conservatory this morning to find that a whole pane of glass had been removed and stuff was piled outside ready to take!!

Mrs C - I've just been trying to get myself used to drinking my tea without milk. It's not too bad so far. I had some pate for lunch though and it wasn't until after I realised that it had cream in it .

Also bought some snowballs to eat but noticed they have milk in . So can all you baking obsessives throw me some virtual cake please!! You're making me hungry talking about cakes.

Lizz - I have tried Dentinox cradle cap shampoo which is good at keeping it under control, but to get rid of big flakes I found putting olive oil on and combing out worked the best. And was also disgustingly satisfying, like picking scabs .

Wilkie - we were bought a tripp trapp. Don't know if I'm overly impressed, you have to take the whole thing to bits to get the cushion off to wash it, which is totally nuts! It also seems as if it'll be a bit uncomfortable, but might be better when DS is older. a couple of my friends have the antilop from ikea which they say is good.

theUrbanDryad · 16/05/2007 22:33

omg trixy - you ok? how awful!!

Lizzzombie · 17/05/2007 07:56

Tixy - thats terrible, you poor thing. That could have been awful.

ellieandhattie · 17/05/2007 08:17

Good Morning no posts from me yesterday as I was in the foulest mood everything was annoying me, normal things DH does (like leave his footie boots in porch really really wound me up. Then got shitey public transport into town with e and h and no buses on my route are pushchair friendly so had to take buggy board off fold pushchair get them both on bus was full and no one gave us a seat so had to stand holding Hattie and making sure Ellie didnt fall over grrrrrrr I fired off a very stroppy email to bus company, but my period arrived last night which explains alot of yesterdays irrational moans!!

Got a busy day today Ellie preschool going to take Hattie to clinic then pick up Ellie and she has a birthday party (mmm nice tired child and a party I foecast a tantrum!)

Wilkie I have a Mamas and Papas wooden cube Baranaby bear highchair its great when they are older as you can remove tray and it slots under table and then converts into a small table and chair which is good for doing drawing etc, however, its quite big and I had to get the insert for Ellie as she wasnt big enough to fill it for quite a while, havent tried Hattie in it yet but am loathed to buy another one as its been in the dining room for the last 2.7 years!!

Mmmmmm all these akes sound yummy but not allowed on my healthy diet

Sorry cant remember whose posted what for personals but Trixy hope you are okay and Wilkie posted those photos 1st class yesterday (and an additional something in the envelope for you!)

ellieandhattie · 17/05/2007 08:18

I only pressed post message button on once!

RGee · 17/05/2007 08:24

Morning all!

Trixy how scary!! I am sympathetic but couldn't help laughing that your dh claimed there was nothing wrong, and when you investigated your conservatory was missing a window and your stuff was piled up. Most impressed at your dh missing that!
And snowballs - I haven't eaten them for yeeaaarrrs. Are they stil dead nice? And really big.

Lizz / Jodie / Shimmer / Vino - please all stop baking. It all sounds too nom nom. Chocolate muffins ....drool....

2Happy - I reckon Ghazelle will go this week Not a classic episode of the Apprentice I thought and concorde was a bit quiet, except "I wish Christina would be fired - in more ways than one". Nice that she always wants people dead! But pmsl at Simon's many talents.
How's DS2's head this morning?

UD - did Z manage to walk in to your bed again this morning? Pmsl that no one knows how he got there!! Not long now til the bf picnic - is it all coming together?

Wilkie - I'm not a big fan of fish & chips. Too greasy, and I got dreadful food poisening from a chip shop sausage at Aug bank holiday weekend 1996 and am still scarred (obviously as the date is etched in my mind). Was violently ill the whole bleedin long weekend. Pah! Glad you started the high chair debate. Need to think about that. Am thinking of getting one that permanently sits around our dining table, but am not too sure as I haven't done any looking around yet. And to touch on the sensitive bald vs thatch issue, the benefit of thatch is that lo has cradle cap but I don't notice it as her hair covers it. Down side of hair, hope she doesn't catch nits!!!

Vino - how was the dentist? And has lo had any formula yet?

Canmummy - hope you had a better night last night.

Right. Would love to go and do some baking. Am actually going back to my work report. Hope to get that finished today. I also hope that lo does not have another big unsettled period like she has had the past two days, poor love. You'll be able to hear her on the south coast if she does!

RGee · 17/05/2007 08:27

Morning EAH Wondered if you posted twice to make up for no post yesterday Have fun today, and hope E enjoys preschool again.
I can't believe that no-one offered you a seat on the bus . People are so rude. Lazy commuter fu**ers.

ellieandhattie · 17/05/2007 08:34

oh no rgee wasnt even commuters was mid morning and loads of older people (but not to old to stand) and a couple of 'youths' lounging at the back (didnt want to trapse tot he back of the bus and ask one of them to move to get an earful!)

laughalot · 17/05/2007 08:36

my little girl slept through 8.30 till 7 iv been waiting for this day for ages, just hope it now continues. No time for personals as its the debenhams sale ooh dear my credit card will be taking a hammering.

laughalot · 17/05/2007 08:37

Meant to say wilkie where have you dissapered too ?

Lizzzombie · 17/05/2007 08:46

EAH - dont get me started on old people on buses. I hate them. They should be shot when they reach 79 IMO! One old person asked a mate of mine if she would move as she was sat in "her" seat on the bus, there were plenty of other seats on the bus, and my friend said no. The old woman then decided to stand right by her for the entire journey and tut about how rude she was for not giving up her seat. My friend, a woman in her late 40's thought this was hilarious. Some old people are freaks. They should have special old people buses (which leak c02) and then buses for people with babies. Much easier.
