Oh she's gorgeous mother Smile

NameChange30 · 09/09/2017 10:06

Thank you carol and purple, we got our packing done in the end, always at the last bloody minute, but we got there! Just on the way to the airport now, timed our departure with DS's nap but it took quite a while (and quite a bit of whinging) before he finally fell asleep Hmm After another terrible night last night I am not feeling particularly patient! At one point though he had woken up but wasn't crying so I left him in his Snuzpod and just stuck my head next to him and my arm around him, took him ages but he did finally fall asleep. Not v comfortable for me but much easier than rocking and no transfer required after he's fallen asleep. Definitely going to keep trying that and hopefully will be able to do a gradual retreat. We shall see.

NameChange30 · 09/09/2017 10:12

Loving the photos of your cuties btw 😍

purpleviolet1 · 09/09/2017 10:19

Well done for finding a new method @NameChange30 that's the thing it's all trial and error and every baby is different!

@HughLauriesStubble hope your ds recovers fast before it spreads! Bless your dd, it's funny how they become
Creatures of habit. We've been doing daytime naps consistently at the same time and in the cot and he has started sleeping 2 hours at lunch means I can have a rest or catch up on housework. I've been resting only yet though haha

@MotherofA we are en route to ikea Hmm we need wardrobes for the guest room so I can hang my clothes which don't fit in my current wardrobe. Hoping to be back for lunchtime nap and then ds and I will nap whilst dh will go to B&Q to buy shelves for a couple of cupboards.

Tomorrow dh's friend is getting married. Ds is invited as well but I really can't be bothered going Hmm

@NameChange30 I hope you have a lovely holiday! Hopefully with DH there all the time you might be able to get some rest.

@HughLauriesStubble I hope your DS gets better soon.

I'm loving all the photos! We haven't tried DS in his seat since the first couple of times when he screamed and cried!

DH did the first bottle and put him down for a nap so I got a bit of a lie in, it was lush! He's now gone out for a bit and taken DS with him so I'm a bit lost! Just having some toast then going to have a reeeeeeeally long shower, because I can!

MotherofA · 09/09/2017 11:05

Hehe love it ! DD still asleep and I've not done much at all woops. DP is at bloody work so I'm lonely haha .

Carolann8584 · 09/09/2017 11:11

45 mins as usual 😁

She's just had some porridge! Ate it all, only mixed a spoon full with water but she loved it. Then had half a feed lol...

Amazing she's so happy bless her !

MotherofA · 09/09/2017 12:31

Coupester my DD did that quite a few times with the bumbo and high chair .I just kept popping her in even for a minute and then put toys in front of her so she saw it as a fun place , she's fine now . They just have to get used to it I guess . I haven't used the bumbo much so I'm glad I got it second hand !

Carolann8584 · 09/09/2017 15:04

Would giving her veg for tea be too much for 1 day?

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/09/2017 15:11

Hi all

Dd slept 7/755 bless her

Have a lovely holiday. Where have you gone?

Meals went from lunch to tea within a day or two and then breakie by a week as always hungry and wasn't lasting from wake up bottle till 1030/11 bottle

I would definitely start offering another meal

Eep breakie as can add milk to porridge powder

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/09/2017 15:15

I don't think you can have too much food as they will refuse /spit out

Dd has 8oz bottle when wakes up 730/8 and what she doesn't drink mixed with 2 tablespoons of porridge

LUnch and tea was 8 ice cubes of veg each meal

But got fed up of making in small cubes so make in small weaning pots now from pound shop and she has two different pots /veg each meal

I haven't given pudding /fruit yet as want her to get used to and like veggies

Carolann8584 · 09/09/2017 15:16

She only had the porridge this morning for the first time. Thought I would introduce it as she doesn't have a lot of the morning feeds.

Was thinking a bit of cauliflower or parsnip puree about 5ish before her bedtime bottle at 6

MotherofA · 09/09/2017 16:53

No harm in trying Carol Smile

Carolann8584 · 09/09/2017 17:11

We're going for the p's today she's just had pureed peas Grin seem to like it

MotherofA · 09/09/2017 18:46

That's amazing !

Carolann8584 · 09/09/2017 18:51

I have had such a good day!!

Sorry for those who have had a bad one but realised I've not shared on here when I've had a really good day and I have, so sharing 😁

DD slept through last night didn't even wake for her DF or dummy during the night 12 hours of solid sleep, she's had 2 good naps today with very little fuss made and 2 "soild" meals! Which she liked! So 😁😁😁 big smiles for me.

Now she's sound asleep and only took 15 mins tonight! 🕺💃🕺💃🕺💃🕺

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/09/2017 19:42

Carolann8584 · 09/09/2017 19:59

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/09/2017 20:27

purpleviolet1 · 09/09/2017 20:34

Wow that's great news carol!!! Such wonderful progress.

DS hasn't drank/ ate much today. Think his gums are bothering him. Had his foot in his mouth a LOT today.

Purple was it you who has the dr browns bottles ? Mine aren't the options ones 😩.

That's so good Carol well done !

I love all veggies . Love meat but always say to my dp I would live off veggies if I had to choose . I was a vegetarian for a few years as a child .
Ohhhhh haven't given DD mushrooms and I am addicted to them so I'll have to test her on that one haha 😂 . I always pick mushroom starters if we go out and when I was little helping Mum cook I would steal all the mushrooms off the side !

coupester · 09/09/2017 20:47

Fab news @Carolann8584 long may it continue!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/09/2017 07:49

Props eyes open

Dd had a very restless evening /night - waking and chewing on fists and then whimpering :( would settle fairly easily back but this went on every hr or so onto 4am

Cheeks glowing and drooling but no sign of teeth yet

Has woken up happy and just downed 8oz and just making porridge now

Hope you all had better nights

NameChange30 · 10/09/2017 08:03

Hi everyone, how are you all?

Sorry in advance but this is going to be a bit of a self indulgent moany post, I need a moan!
We are here (France) after a long stressful journey yesterday, flying is definitely my least favourite mode of transport and even more so with a baby! Flight was delayed and we were stuck at the gate with nowhere to sit for ages and then sitting on the plane not going anywhere for ages, hate it when that happens. Queue to collect the hire car and it took forever. Had to stop several times as DS was unhappy and I ended up in the back, where I couldn't nap or chat to DH, and got car sick from the windy country lanes (literally had to get out to be sick at one point). Finally arrived at 11.30pm.
DH and I hate camping but his parents recently bought a camper van and want to use it as much as possible so we're at a campsite - DH, DS and I are in a mobile home thing and PILs have a pitch nearby. It's cold and the weather forecast is cold and rain all week Sad There is one electric radiator in the main room but not in the bedrooms so we have to leave all the doors open or be cold. I'm stressing that I haven't brought enough blankets or warm clothes for DS Sad I asked DH to take DS this morning so I could try and get a bit more sleep (as we usually do at home) but I couldn't sleep at all because I could hear them.
I am kicking myself for thinking that camping would be a good idea, even if it's a mobile home and not a tent, it's a far cry from a cosy holiday cottage Sad
Oh and I HATE TRAVEL COTS! They have such tall sides and it's a nightmare to lift DS in and out as he's so heavy. I think I'm going to kick DH out of the double bed and just take DS in there with me. DH can have the single bed in the room with the cot, he will get a decent night's sleep at least!
