Sniggers autocorrelation

Hobbit19 · 07/04/2016 07:38

Morning all. Just to say I am reading but don't have the time/energy to post. P has a horrendous cold and has been waking every hour for over a week. Urgh. The dummy has been employed (they are genius Country, your MIL knows nothing) and DH is doing some of the settling but I am KNACKERED.
Hello newbies and new babies.
Glad you are back Hippo.
Fricken love Gossip Girl.
The end.

5hell · 07/04/2016 08:02

Hello viroids :) thought I'd cone say hi (although it takes me several days to read/reply/comment on anything at the mo)

Name:5hell
age: 35 (just)
Dc: 1x ds; 1 week today Shock

Currently spending most of my time boobing and worrying about my episiotomy

hippopotamoose · 07/04/2016 10:57

If you want to call me La you can by the way! It's just to stop folk looking up past stuff with my old name.

B was up a ridiculous amount of times last night. Bloody cold. Me and Dh on brink of divorce if I don't get sleep soon - I'm an angry bitch during the night and get very snappy.

Before has caused me to have an expensive Frugi habit. Spent a lot of money last night on the 2nd hand Frugi page in Facebook.

How are you doing 5hell? Boobing going ok?

I'm at work today and sneezing loads. Fun fun fun.

I want to leave B overnight next week for first time. He'll be ok right?

hippopotamoose · 07/04/2016 10:58

Pud colds are rubbish. Hope she gets well soon

jellypi3 · 07/04/2016 11:14

Hey 5hell hope it's going well!

la had B's sleep gone backwards again :( that's such a shame. We had a bad night too, R wouldn't settle so I ended up with her in bed with me. Almost killed dp who woke up at 6 and saw her in bed and had a moan at me. He slept all through her crying and grizzling from half 1 till half 3, I only got sleep because she was in with me!

Sorry for all the colds at the mo. Hope the babies get better soon.

CountryGal4 · 07/04/2016 11:31

Pud!!! Nice to see you

MaGratgarlik1983 · 07/04/2016 13:37

Hi viroids! Congrats to the new mummas. DS has a cold and is madly teething poor little chap. I can see the tooth so hopefully it might come out soon?!! That and the angry backwards crawling is making me zzzzz!!!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 07/04/2016 14:32

Boo to colds! FlowersBrewWineCake for all you mums dealing with poorly babies. Mini is very snuffly so I have been using the saline spray which helps a bit. Tried the nasal aspirator yesterday. It was rather unpopular. Child loves sleeping as long as it is on me or DP. In her cot? Not so much...

hippo I am sure he will be fine! Who will he be with? Your DH?

pud I concur. Dummies are magic.

Also loves GG. I started watching quite late so may watch the early seasons. I refer to Blake Lively as "Boobs Legsley" in my head due to her wardrobe always showing off both at the same time which is a fashion don't for mere mortals but not Serena...

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 07/04/2016 17:56

Oh FFS is autocorrelation even a word?! My autocorrect hates me...

CarrotPuff · 08/04/2016 01:41

You know when you get annoyed that the baby is still grizzling, and then you look at the clock and realise it's actually a new wake up, and you must have slept in between... Except you don't feel like you've slept at all!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 08/04/2016 04:28

So much yes carrot I know I am getting sleep but it doesn't feel like I am getting sleep

5hell · 08/04/2016 17:44

Yep, had that last night carrot ...was thinking "well maybe if u fed for more than 8 min you wouldn't be hungry again already, but it had been 2.5h Blush

Any tips on how to help a baby not scream blue-murder at every nappy change??!

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 08/04/2016 18:11

5hell mini used to do that but has stopped for the most part. They get used to it eventually.

Running on fumes today. Hoping we get some sleep tonight as DD's bday party is tomorrow. Don't have to do much but will need to be somewhat perky for parents and the onslaught of baby curiosity... have one more tiara to glue shells to and a few pressies to wrap and I am pretty much there... sigh.

DulcetMoans · 08/04/2016 20:36

Oh fun sky! Or maybe it isn't. A birthday party might be one of those things I think sounds fun until I'm there doing it. Is it themed?

Good luck with the teething ma! I've heard they come in pairs - is this the first ones?

B will be absolutely fine la, I am sure. And if it's a shitty night then it is someone else's turn to deal with it. Hopefully DH? See how he likes operating on 0 sleep!

Welcome in 5hell! Hoping the healing is coming along nicely!

I am sorry to say viroids, I tried Gossip Girl and nearly poked my eyes out. I watch a lot of shit but can't stand those self-entitled bitching rich kids. It's like Chelsea - I hate that too! It does mean I am in a Netflix funk though... I started Jane the Virgin which is ok. We have House of Cards on hold until we can watch it together but might have to just watch it alone.

Took J for his first settling in session at nursery this week. It was nice to sit there and play and see where he will be. Made a friend with another baby his age called Jamie. He cried when I left! Second session is Tues and have so much paperwork to fill in and photos to to stick into his little books.

CarrotPuff · 08/04/2016 23:40

5hell some babies just really hate nappy changes. DS used to scream like I was amputating his leg. They do get used to it. DD doesn't mind as long as she's been fed. Try a dummy?

jellypi3 · 09/04/2016 07:28

Aww nursery sounds scary dulce, at least J made a friend.

Good luck with the party sky!

R is now full of cold too. She's actually quite spritely but is very bunged up and sneezing and coughing a lot. She also took 4 hours to settle to sleep last night which is very unlike her.

We've booked a holiday in June, now to get her passport done

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 09/04/2016 10:51

This made me lol. Thought I would share.

In-laws visiting this weekend - time to at least pretend to look presentable! Shock

C's first trip on the tube yesterday at the ripe old age of 11 days, I had to go to a passport interview (first British passport) so had to slog down to Victoria. I now have the sinking feeling that we made a poor choice of travel system, ours feels huge and awkward and I'd be lying if I said I hadn't been checking out Bugaboo Bees and Babyzen Yoyos on eBay!

jellypi3 · 09/04/2016 13:44

Tri what about getting a buggy/stroller that's suitable from birth? There are loads and you can get cheap ones from about 30 quid. I'm getting one for when we go on holiday in June :)

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 09/04/2016 18:41

Party was a success and great fun for the kids. Great efforts on part of XH, DP, and BFF made all the difference. My mermaid tiaras were a hit thank goodness. Mini slept on people the whole time so I got some nice photos too. Hoping this doesn't mean we will be up all night now as pretty shattered. Have discovered she will sleep if I leave her to cosleep with me but then I get nervous as I am so tired... Urgh. Need to preserve with the chicco...

tri you may just need time to adjust. I felt that way first few trips with DD and I ended up loving her travel system. We got a bugaboo bee for mini and I am finding we only use it with car seat attachment right now as the seat it comes with doesn't seem super comfy for a newborn and we didn't get a basinette attachment as we barely used DD's with her old buggy.

dulcet great news your baby has made a little friend. So cute!

5hell · 09/04/2016 20:35

Hmm...dummy hadn't occurred to me carrot - may well be worth a try if it continues!

Have had a comically bad day with respect to clothes/accidents/nappies...think chubs is on his 5th babygro...dh just tried to do a preemptive change to avoid nappy leak but he wee'd all over clothes, filled a nappy the second he popped it under his bum AND screamed blue murder as usual!!!! Confused

The tube?!...kudos tri!
I don't think any travel system is perfect, the problem is mainly inconsiderate venues / other people! Have realised almost all the cafes here are pokey and unsuitable for pram Hmm

TriJo · 09/04/2016 22:41

We have the Mothercare Roam - the big problem is that the back wheels are very wide and it's also very long in pram mode. I wish we'd had more of an idea what we would need when we were shopping for it.

C seems to be in Pee On Mammy mode today - three times during one nappy change! He also greeted his grandfather this afternoon by puking on his trousers Shock

rdm10 · 10/04/2016 08:50

Quick moan... Why is my MIL here? At 8.30am on a Sunday?? Dh has taken H downstairs so I can get a couple of hours sleep and then she arrives! I'm not going downstairs, she's too hard work for this time of the morning but now I can't sleep because I know she'll be commenting on me 'leaving dh to do everything'!! Grrr!
As you were...
Happy Sunday, at least the sun is shining!

DulcetMoans · 10/04/2016 10:00

8.30 on a Sunday?! That's just unsociable rdm! I hope you got back to sleep and left them to it!

There are a few things I have found that I wish I hadn't bought since having a baby tri. With the first one you are kind of buying things a bit blind before you know how it will work practically in your life. I got a lovely highchair second hand before I had the baby and now it's totally impractical! It's wood and never feels clean and doesn't collapse so is a massive space drain in the living room. Hoping for a less piss soaked day for you at least!

Sounds like the party was a hit then sky. You can relax again now!

Nursery is a bit scary jelly. The thought of leaving him there all day is exciting in some ways but scary that he might be sad and I won't be there. And there's all these things to think about now like getting some mucky clothes and a puddle suit and spares of all the important things. Good job there's an NCT sale next weekend!
