Hi everyone.
Just a quick post to say that after all my worrying about Isabelle's weight last week, she is now 10lb 4oz, so she has put on 8oz in a week. This is the most she's ever gained in a week, so obviously me eating everything is sight has helped. Even more interestingly, I have lost 2lb this week. So I really can eat what I want while breastfeeding.

My pelvic scan to look for source of my problems is on Monday. Wish me luck!

Mummy2TandF · 20/01/2007 12:10

mygirl - I have had another roofer round who has quoted £360, so he is coming back tomorrow morning to do the work for us
Fatbetty - When ds was a baby, he wouldn't necessarily (sp?) focus on objects etc - but he would turn his head to follow if dh or I walked past him - is Madeleine doing this? I am sure she is fine and I know it is hard not to compare your lo's progress (I am doing it as well) but we really shouldn't because they are all different. I keep saying that ds was turning over by this age but dd isn't but as I said they are all different and will do things at different ages
happycatandizzy - I am please for you, you see it is a mummys job to worry about everything - I am glad that Izzy is doing well.
I thought today would be better, but I still want to kill dh and to top it off I think I have larangitis (sp?) - ds thinks all his christmases have come at once because I can't tell him off

NatalieJane · 20/01/2007 12:21

Happycat, glad things have turned the corner

M2T&F hope you feel better soon.

Well we have a day of grandmas, soft land, making ice cubes with juice (DS1 has been going mad to do it for the last week or so for some reason!) and then tomorrow we have a lovely roast beef dinner planned - I love having a DH that can cook

Has anyone else been getting cravings since the birth? I don't like custard at all, but when we were in hospital they brought me a spotted dick with custard and the custard was cold and fairly lumpy, but I ate it because there was nothing else and I was starving, since then I have wanted nothing but custard, I've even had dreams about cold lumpy custard!! Is it just me?

staceym11 · 20/01/2007 17:25

fatbetty - im sure madelaine's fine hunny, she may just not be interested in what you want her to look at, does she watch the boys play? Keiran only really started focusing and seeing properly in the last two weeks and as you know hes 11 weeks today so he was about 9 weeks really, although he smiled from 6 weeks it seemed to be at invisible fairies somewhere inbwtween him and the ceiling. dont worry too much, just try and interact with her when you get a chance (hard work with two others, iv only got the one and find it hard!)

Happycat+izzy, im glad izzy is doing better, well done on your weight loss, wish i could lose weight, but was told by the hv and my psychiatrist not to try and diet until im feelin better as its too much pressure!

well keiran stopped having baby rice for a while, but now hes back on it again as he is so hungry and just cant fill his belly fast enough, he's still drinking the same amount of milk tho so im not bothered!

Stacey - LOL at the invisible fairies. Maybe my house is full of them. Madeleine does seem rather particular at what she wants to look at. Still I think I'll take her to see the GP on Monday just to calm my nerves. GP will probably think I'm a nut.

In regards to cravings, anything that has lots of sugar in it!! I think I may be anemic (sp?) and just needing that sugar rush. Started taking a few iron tablets to see if that helps. Have to ask the GP about that too!

Bethbe · 21/01/2007 13:59

Podglet: - snap! DH IS 37, and we're planning to try again at 6 months. Would do it sooner but am BF and don't want DS1 and DC2 competing for nutrition. Also, - I think my body needs a bit of a rest!

Debbsyandson · 21/01/2007 16:21

oh dear mydirl.. hope your all better soon! children projectile vomitting is the worst! i have 3 hen nights, 2 weddings and a wedding reception to go to all within the next 2 months.. have given up all hope of losing any weight before hand.. particularly as 1st hen night is next week and wedding at beginning of feb! i'm starting to get frustrated, wanna do some exercises but can't with my wound! and then theirs the dilema of what to wear!

stacey.. we're totally skint too! post christmas blues, and pay day is forever away! enjoy your help today! it'll be nice to have a bit of a hand..

well i think ryan is starting to sleep through the night (knocking on wood - don't wanna jinx it!) he had his last feed at 7pm last night and woke up at 6am!! he's done it a few times now, but it's a bit hit and miss, but he's been very good this weekend! just have to remember what i've been doing so we can establish a routine!

Mummy2TandF · 22/01/2007 12:58

well girls - I have finally bitten the bullet and dd will be going into her own room tomorrow night. She has been sleeping through for about 6 weeks now and I have just bought a new monitor (should be coming tomorrow. I had one for ds but we are still using it for him but he does still cry out some evenings and we wouldn't hear him without it
I am a bit nervous, but it will be nice to have our bedroom back! Dh still hasn't put her cot together though (so I can't measure it for the new mattress yet) But I am going to move her into her room in her swinging crib that she has been sleeping in in our room. Enough from me - hope evryone is well and that you have a nice day stacey with your helper

staceym11 · 22/01/2007 13:19

ds isnt quite sleeping through the night yet so he wont be going into dd's room till he is there, as i dont need her disturbed during the night, two of them screaming is all i need!

well keiran is now having baby packet mix and some potatoe mashed, mixed with baby rice, as he just screams through whole feeds otherwise and barely eats any milk, now hes taking 6 oz, including the tiny bit thats mixed in with the packet. im much happier with that and a tiny bit of food than only 3 ozs each feed with no food! strange how babies work sometimes!

well have just gone to town and managed to get my shopping from boots off my advantage card, and payed in the post office in silver (that was in dd's money pot, poor cow!) and paid £5 into the bank in copper to keep us going till fri, i hate it when money is this tight!

Charleesunnysunsun · 22/01/2007 17:06

Stacey i have been panicking about being pg as well! We had an incident a couple of weeks ago, we used a condom but i came half off and although it still contained 'substance' i'm scared something may have leaked throuhg plus i have been feeling so tired and dizzy this past few days and i have had some scanty on/off light bleeding.
I'm hoping to god im not if im not feeling better by then end of the week im going to the g.p to check!

Jack has been in hospital again! Really scary this time he went in an ambulance sirens and lights going, we had 7 dr's waiting for us at the hospital!
The thread is here God it has been hell. I can't wait untill this is all over.

Harry is fine 11lb 3oz and he seems to be settling ok sleeping most the night, still in our bed but hey at least i get a decent nights sleep.

fatbetty · 22/01/2007 18:19

Charlee, how scary for you! Glad to hear your DS got immediate attention at the hospital and that he is getting better. It's so frustrating when GP completely disregard your concerns. How many times do you have to go in before they really listen to you? My GP ignored my concerns when I lost hearing in one ear - saying that it would return. A year later still no hearing - but at least he listens to me now!!

I've noticed that DD's eyesight is better and she is looking at me and starting to chat to stuffed animals. Very cute!! Feeling better about that - but now she has a cold and is all snuffly.

Can't believe some of you are already back in the saddle (so to speak)! That's the last thing on my mind - and the first thing on my DH's mind. Feel like my body belongs to DD since I'm still breastfeeding.

Charleesunnysunsun · 22/01/2007 19:02

Thanks Fatbetty, i had to go in about 10 times to be refered tot he specialist but they still never picked up the infection on his lung.

I have been 'back in the saddly' for weeks i don't know what has happened to me since i gave birth before i fell pg i was none to fussed about sex now i can't get enough!
I can't use any form of contraceptive except a coil which im not to sure about so it's just condoms at the moment which worrry me as they can split and fall off ect.

Ho hum! These things are sent to try us!

staceym11 · 23/01/2007 12:10

oh charlee hope things get better soon, it just seems like one thing after another atm! hug

well i nearly abandoned my kids this morning, dh had to come home from work coz neither of them would stop screaming, all sorted now tho, thank god, think i had a minor breakdown.

wish i could get keiran to sleep through the night it would prob make me feel so much better during the day!! even with his solids he doesnt sleep through, just wakes up so hungry every 4hrs!!!!

HappyCatandIzzy · 23/01/2007 12:45

Hi all.
DD is not sleeping through either so I'm quite jealous of those of you with babies who do.
I went for my pelvic scan yesterday and everything is fine. This means that there are no retained products in my womb and the problems I've been having are probably hormonal. I'm so relieved.

Hope people with the sickness bug have managed to get rid of it now.

Charlee - hope you are your whole family are ok and managing with everything you are going through.

Quick question - are people planning on waiting until 6 months to wean their LO as HVs suggest?

staceym11 · 23/01/2007 13:06

Happycat, iv started weaning keiran as he was so hungry and hes now eating better and is generally a lot more settled now. with dd she was 16 weeks, i think it completely depends on the baby, but i dont personally know anyone who waited till 6 months!

staceym11 · 23/01/2007 13:06

oh and glad your scan was clear!!!
